Jago wakes to the gentle chime of the computers alarm call, and says ‘thank you’, as he always does. He knows that computers are ‘supposed to be’ inanimate objects but he seriously doubts that this one is and considers her a friend. Any way, politeness costs nothing.
Jago wakes to the more insistent trill of the computers alarm call and says, ‘thank you,’ as he always does, though possible a little more abruptly than he had a few minuets before.
Jago wakes to the irritating buzz of the computers alarm call and says, ‘all right, all right, I’m up already,” then has to actually get out of his cot when the computer fails to fall for this ploy and continues buzzing.
As he cleans his teeth, Jago runs through the morning’s activities in his head, press ups and stretches, a quick jog around the hanger deck, shower, breakfast and then get ready for the low birth passengers.
Noticing the time, Jago skips the first three items and heads for the shower.
