Ditto.

Actually, I've just been out on a 15-footer today on Sydney Harbour. Only my second time out, but I'm learning the lingo, so it MAY help me RPing here :).

Ferry captains suck, by the way.

Re: Island

I lived on a 65' Morgan (sailboat) for 3 years and a 90' modified minesweeper for two.....It was great. I loved the sailboat. I wish I was still able to do that.

Re: Island

Myself, I've spent maybe 4 hours total my whole life on a boat...if that long.  Love the feel of them though when I can get on one.  Oh well, maybe when the kids get older I can buy one for myself.  Anyway, to the game.

I need a marching order for you all...Renny being the coward that he is will remain in the middle of the group, he has a dagger with him and takes a pin from the ship to act as a club...but don't expect him to know how to use them. (mainly because I always forget about the NPC in battle).  Also, I'm gonna gloss over some of the stuff here for the long walks and what not to try to advance the game so we can get Koopa into the game, don't want her getting bored and signing onto a new ship.

Don't foget Varlath...I'm gonna try like hell to NPC him til we get back to port and he leaves to continue his studies.  Can place him second to last.

It's been years (15?) since I've sailed
I used to spend a couple hours on the water nearly every evening in summers though.

March order looks good to Brald

Re: Island

If there is a giant palisade near a primitive village, with a smoking volcano smoking in the background beyond, at the end of this trail: I'm going to hurt the DM

King Kong?  Only one of the most popular movies of all time
with 4 re-makes, one of which is brand new

Re: Island

There was even a D&D module based on the movie

Isle of the Ape - back in AD&D 1 days, I think.  Was supposedly a Greyhawk adventure

Re: Island

I'm fine with any plot device/etc that brings her (or any new) pc in early.

I've been the one waiting before, and it sucks.  And there is almost always something the DM can do to bring a character in.

off the top of my head:
1) She is native to the island we're on
2) She is shipwrecked and castaway on the island we're on
3) She's been assigned to spy on this island by any of several orgainizations/power groups
4) the old "she drops from the sky/appears from midair"  - a one-way portal, a gate, a powerful being sending her, etc...

Re: Island

I think what DM Foxpaws described was a hot spring.

A fumarole is a steam vent, or just hot air and smoke - I didn't even consider posting it, because I thought Calgarvin had already won.

Re: Island

Yeah, it was a hot spring, Calgarvin had it...deeper into the cave system you'll probably come accross the fumarole's.  However, there is no need to destroy the orc village if you rp it right.  we just need a sneaky little bastard to go in and scout around.
