yah I lik the thought of playing with you, I've just been a little busy these last couple days. Funny how while all of the games I'm in are stalled I have hours of free time to spend and when they seem to get started up stuff happens and my free time goes away. It's like I'm being teased.

Re: Sea of Fallen Stars: OOC

lol... I know what you mean!

Anyway, not to burden you all, but I guess I wrote something that set a few people so off, and I guess they must have been influential people, because I'm banned from the DML, even though I DM 3 games.

I have ideas about how it all came about, but I don't want you to get inolved.  If you wanted to help me out - and really, I don't think you want to get involved - but if you wanted to help, you could simply PM DM BadCatMan and say

'I don't know what's going on, and don't need to, but Fred's a fine GM.'

or something.  That should keep you out of it, and that way, you'd only be talking about what you knew - my experience with you as a GM.  No one can fault you for your experience with me as a GM.

Regards

Fred

jeez, you'd think there wouldn't be any of this kind of silliness on a message board like this. I mean honestly I don't know what's going on, but kicking someone while they are running active games just because they said something seems like junior high crap. Unless you did something that broke the terms of use of whatever they have for RPOL or are running you other games like a jackass and are just screwing with your players I don't see why someone not liking you or what you said should get you banned from anything other than maybe another DM's game.

Re: Sea of Fallen Stars: OOC

Flik, I appreciate your sentiment, and agree wholeheartedly.  I do, as I believe that many do, speak 'off the cuff' sometimes, and can understand how some people might be initially inclined to take something the wrong way.  What I can't understand is why someone might let their unwillingness to discuss or understand a person, or that person's position, cataput them into full-on hostility.  I can assure you that while my writings may not always make sense to some, my writings never broke any TOU of RPoL or RoA, and my writings never singled out a particular DMs game.

Would that I could say the same of those who so glibly wrote to me.

So anyway, I'm in some sort of holding pattern.  I feel an obligation to my players, and to my gms.  I feel that there is potential for RoA - to reach higher, or only to aspire to its former greatness, I cannot say.  But as one might expect, my contributions to the whole are limited if I am segregated to a section.

Over the short run then, Flik, Lilian, and Zorlax, I intend to keep posting as I am allowed by the sprites of circumstance.  But the fates are fickle, and I cannot promise more than I can do.

Should you want to keep playing with me as a fellow game-player, I would then encourage you to do but one thing:

Post!

Naturally, there are ways that you could come out in favor of all those cast into my perdicament, but I will not tire your ears unless you'd like to reach me personally.  My email is already available - fbaker4@yahoo.com

Thanks again for your patience, your time, and your characters.

I'd like to wait for Lilian...to speak frankly, it was her character's inclusion that prompted the confusion of the bubble-region...because she tended to the evil side of the spectrum, tho' it weren't the virulent kind of evil, it was evilnontheless.

So hang loose for a day or so?  Because once we set sail, we can't easily add PCs.

true.  it seems, though, it Lilian is KMAGYOYO; i think we'll start our sail, but we three can think about what we want to do longer term.  On a vastly dumber note, I might get banned from RoA for completely specious reasons.  So if i dissappear for no reason, that's why.  Oh - I'll be away for most of 9th - 14th.

We do have two new DMs coming in. One of them might decide to take this game, but more likely they will start a new game (this game being so cursed and all), so you two should be able to jump in one of them.

Lilian vanished about a month ago. Fbaker4 removed her and made the character an NPC. When I removed him, I restored Lilian to her player. She's still not been around though, or might not have noticed since she'd been removed.

[Private to DM Greensocks: A PM to Lilian Espaireith will get her attention. She was set on hanging around the last time we saw her, so she may still be interested.]

Probably wide open Pirate, if necessary we could play around with either a group dynamics (preferably) or you all could operate out of a town with your own crews.  Quite frankly I've got a lot of ideas, but the game is built for the players - the players don't show up for the GM, they show up to have a good time.

So what is it that you'd all like to do?

[Private to DM BadCatMan: Will do, I'll see if she's still around, otherwise I go headhunting]

Re: Sea of Fallen Stars: OOC

Heya!  That's three down playerwise, any of you have any RPOL friends that would be interested in a good old fashioned pirate game?

I'm asking mainly because I find old friends from other games or such to be the best general kind of party feel - and thus more of a group comraderie than usual.

I think I'm going to have to create an event to bring a feel of 'fresh start' to the whole setup, everyone can remain using the same characters and I'd like to ask only one thing - would those coming into this game give me a little idea of what eventual goals or things they'd like to see happen?

I shape the world, so it's better if I shape it with the players desires in mind.

The Sea of Fallen Stars
DM GreenSocks
RoA 4, Group 3

Avast!  The sea awaits.  This most cursed of threads upon our boards suffers a new fate at my hands.  Suffice to say this will not be your typical pirate adventure.  We've got two solid players already and more would be a great boon to them.

Every man at one point gets the urge to spit upon his hands, hoist the black falg, and begin slitting throats.  This is the hard, brutal and gritty life as either a private or privateer, hunter or hunted.  All players begin at level 3 using accepted RoA character creation rulings.  Orphans are more than welcome here!

Your fate rests in your own hands, sieze the wheel!

PM DM GreenSocks for further information or requests to join.

Re: Sea of Fallen Stars: OOC

Frankly we've not really done much of anything for a long long time. The last incarnation of the game only lasted a couple of weeks. We started out on the sword coast, south of Amn, but with a new DM relocated and started our latest incarnation of the game (try three) in Cormyr where we pretty much got press ganged onto a ship. I wasn't around for that one though, as I had a slight hiatus to the US for school.

As for characters I can only talk about mine with any authority.

Lilian or Lily is a pirate scum, of the blackest and most foul sort. (since that was what I joined up for I made that). She might be a black hearted villain but she's a far cry from stupid. Loyalty and teamwork are things she puts great weight in, although she'll prefer it from other people than giving it herself. She's an able sailor, having been on a ship since she was old enough to run powder from the stores to the gunners.

She's found a niche for herself as a midship man, mostly due to her ability to yell at people in a manner that gets things done (yes her bardic perform ability is yelling swearwords). She's a Nelanther, and thus piracy is in her blood.

She's not a good person, in anyway, shape or form. And frankly this is probably the only place thats good for her, Piracy bubble region.
