Actually I am doing that now - Haunted Halls of Evening Star. Supposed to be a level 1-3 dungeon, but there are Lots of high level and quick death monsters in it. Including 2 Zu-Zu zombies, a spider whose initial attack does 1D10 damage + poison (1D4 + save or fall in to a coma for 1d4 days), a Mummy, a large mimic and a doppleganger. Those critters even if played dumb, can easily be party killers.
Though I outfitted the party with a bit more magic than is normal, but most of it is non weapons type gear.
So far they are doing pretty well, no one has died, thanks to the 2 healers mostly (and me fudging some rolls in favor of the PCs - I don't like Instant kill traps, no matter if they are realistic, the rest of this dungeon is not realistic to start with. Place has 3 privies but no kitchens, yet has a grand dinning hall. And none of the privies are near any place that would be useful to or easily reachable by the inhabitants of the place. It was not well thought out design. (Which fits lots of old TSR dungeons and Castle layouts)
