Re: Yay!

It got... confusing at points after that. Might be I need to reread em idk. It just felt more and more like he was grasping for straws and easy plot points after that. Some of em I do not remember making much sense. Then again there are some good time gaps between books for me.

True, but a lot of his parodies don't really showcase his singing IMO.

I have a new favourite! Weird Al's Word Crimes. My English isn't that great and I still think it's funny. It should be be the RPOL Anthem.

Re: Yay!

As I do the final dry wall repair, painting, shoe mould installation, tiling, and electrical for the house to be ready for rental, I'm bopping along to Weird Al's Handy. Yeah, this ones a good album. :-)

And for all that this is ton of work that needs to be done, tomorrow I turn the house over to property managers to take care of renting it out. I'll be out of here and back with the Hubby in our new home.

Re: Yay!

The apartment is clean, there are no errands to run for the day, I've actually made leaps and bounds in editing my novel, and I have an afternoon of catching up with over college friends planned via skype and bonding through the shared rage of League of Legends.

Mmm, a good weekend!

Crap, I missed it. Twilight Zone is either my #1 or #2 favorite TV show ever (the jury is still out on that one). Of course, that means I have all 5 seasons on DVD. Still, it's not quite the same thing.

I found the button that popped off of the Logitech keyboard! It was in the bottom of my backpack.

The Kindness of Strangers

... And of friends.

I started up a page on a donation site to help pay for my dog's surgery and people are already adding money to it. I'm not even sure I know who the first person to donate was, but I'm thankful for every penny that gets me closer to having my old girl taken care of.

I found a veterinarian who will perform my dog's surgery for half what the first place wanted to charge!  I still need help, but that means I'm that much closer to getting her fixed up!

Re: Fanstastically Good Stuff

Say what you will about arrogant professional athletes - my family of 5 (2 disabled kids) were able to go to a practice session for our local professional team and were treated like world class citizens.  From the get-go the staff and volunteers were helpful and friendly (making sure that our wheelchair kids didn't have to be carried onto the school buses to the practice facility - they found us a parking space there) to the staff at the practice - helpful and friendly.

My 13-year-old son was excited to pose with the cheerleaders and after the practice several of the players and the head coach came over and greeted my kids and signed their autograph books.

It's kind of nice living in a town where a sports team knows how to treat their fans (and the fact that they just won a Super Bowl is icing on the cake)!

I took a typing test.  I now officially type more than 100wpm (103, corrected down to 102). :D

Wow!  I wonder if my daughter would even believe that.  LOL  Once she was listening to me type, and asked if my output actually made sense; I guess she thought I was just hitting random letters or at least making a lot of mistakes, and I certainly can't come near your speed!

Re: Fanstastically Good Stuff

I've been hovering around 90wpm for about a decade now every time I take an "official" test and I was just really happy to finally break the 100wpm barrier.  That really is ridiculously fast -- when I say ridiculously I'm not bragging about how fast it is, I'm saying that it's faster than any typist really needs to be since most people don't really think that fast when they're composing something.  I'd like to someday get up to about 120 wpm so that I can better transcribe what I hear when I have to take detailed notes about what sort of arguments people are bringing forth as they hash out topics during meetings (I also volunteer as secretary for some organizations and keep minutes), but most of the time I'm just summarizing what people say.  As far as regular office work goes, it's faster than a typist really needs to be.

Re: Fanstastically Good Stuff

Man, I count myself doing well at 45 wpm (and have been to job interviews where they were actually surprised that I could type that fast...although it's been a long time since those interviews and with nearly every home in the nation sporting a computer now, typing is not the rarity that it was when I was first job-hunting in college...)
