Re: Faith rewarded...

My husband and I got married in Legend of Zelda t-shirts.

His: http://www.myteespot.com/images/Images_d/DSCF7456.jpg
Mine: http://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/...gHf-vbW3CVqdOUVQ.jpg

Not what we wore to the ceremony, but minister presiding over the ceremony was in the Army, too. We all used to be in the same unit. We swapped so many stories that he hung out all night and missed somebody else's wedding later that day. Days later, we realized none of our legal documents were signed. When we finally tracked him down and had everything done up proper, we were wearing out Zelda shirts. I thought it was funny because these are our only matching shirts. We've got a bunch of other pop culture and souvenir shirts, we didn't tell each other what we were wearing and we didn't see each other all day until we met at the notary.

Last week, I tore my shirt and I just started crying. Today, I got a package in the mail for my birthday: a small box full of them. He says, "Just in case they stop making them before our Silver Anniversary."

Re: Faith rewarded...

Taking a three-day mini-vacation in Vegas with a group of friends this weekend.  The timing sucks...we start tech and dress rehearsals next week and open our Halloween shows next weekend...but I've been working there for a decade and a half, and this is the first vacation I've taken.  And it'll be a good reminder for my bosses about how much stuff they actually have me do, when I'm not there to do it for them and they have to find someone else...

Epic Thread

I was called by a member of the 501st legion who (if you haven't heard) donate their time to make children's dreams come true by dressing up as Darth Vader and the storm troopers and visiting children's hospitals.

(touching story that chokes me up every time)
They told me that a 5 year old girl/star-wars fan who was in the children's hospital walked up to Darth Vader and just held his hand for a long time (which in and of itself is not that uncommon, but is still super cute). She got her picture taken and later that week was looking at pictures with her mother, and when they got to the picture of the little girl holding Vaders hand, the little girl pointed and said "I love him".   Super cute right?  But thats not the half of it because in fact the doctors had told her mother that the little girl would never be able to speak in her life and those were the first words she ever spoke.  ever.
(choking up again :) )

P.S.  I almost wrote that good thing for me is ... I found this thread.  It is AWESOME and there is not nearly enough of this on the web.

Got my PFD check deposited last week.  Used it to buy my place a new sliding glass door for my deck.  One more insulated and nicer!  It is going to save me a lot on my energy bill.  Even better.... getting it installed this weekend!

Help I'm lost!

Tried to set up this epic real-life game, and all the players have jobs and can't play today. Seriously I had to looks this unfamiliar word up. Also I haven't been on rpol for a very long time. Anyone remember this guy? I hardly remember anyone, except for Big Bad Ron we had some awesome conversations; he called me Exhumed Robert onetime and I had no idea what he meant lol.
I am venting that so many people have more posts than me, so I look like some 6 monther or something. How embarrassing.

Don't be stressed out, Bob. Here's a good thing: the number of posts in Community Chat isn't a measure of how much you play or how much fun you have. :)

Re: Help I'm lost!

Plus I know a GM that write for groups like Talislant (sp?) and only have three or four hundred posts. Remember those are just forum post counts. They do not count in game posts. If they did it would be a higher count for many people.

Re: Help I'm lost!

Oh I am aware of that my friend, when I used this site 10 or so years ago I used to have allot of posts. And not that it really matters how many posts you have. I mean I've lost my RPGA card a long time ago, so Its funny I thought my number was important enough to put in my description. Its like waking up from a coma or something.
This site hasn't been around for 10 years has it? Maybe its only been like 5 who knows lol
