So, a few years ago (or more like 10), I had started watching an anime series involving mecha, but for reasons long forgotten, I never finished it. I've recently gotten back into anime, and whatever this series was, I would like to see it in its entirety. The sad thing is, this is about all I can remember about it:

In one of the earlier episodes, as they are disembarking their mecha, a female mecha pilot says something to the effect of, "This suit reeks!" in reference to her pilot suit.

For some reason, my mind always placed it as being Asuka from Evangelion, but revisiting the series, I don't think this is right.

Can anyone help?

The only Eva episode I remember with Asuka complaining about her plug suit was the one where she had to wear that specialized suit for a volcano dive. Looked like a fat suit.

Could you describe the mecha or the pilot suits?  That could help narrow it down.

I'm not sure I've ever heard of that one. Does something similar happen there?

Was it comedic or serious?

I seem to recall it being a bit of both.

It's also possible that it could have been Martian Successor Nadesico. Is there a scene in which two or three female mecha pilots debut / are introduced all at once?

LOL! I was thinking that was it, hence the question of whether it was comedic or serious.

Is that the one I'm looking for? Do you remember such a scene in Nadesico?

It's been a while since I watched it, but it sounds like something that the 3 female pilots would do; they're bat-sh*t crazy especially in the OAV.
