Subject pretty much says it all, but is it possible to watch a game without contributing?

Is there a way to make a game open for anyone to watch what's happening but not allow them to post?

I looked through the help so please don't flame me if I missed this setting/option/help listing.

I believe that group 0 is publicly view-able.

Dang it. There it is... :-(
Thank you. #SearchFailed

Help File > Game Groups: All visitors to the game can read Group 0, and it is the default group for posts.  Players whose characters have been removed from Group 0 will not be able to read this group unless they log out of RPoL.

You can also add someone as a lurker. The GM has control over which groups the lurker can view. Lurkers are unable to post.

Yeah, I just read about that as well, but I didn't want to have to add people.

Yeah, I believe that the default setting for new threads is Group 0, which anyone can see.  If you archive a thread, it also becomes viewable to the public (which means you've got to be careful if you archive threads in Adult games...plan on editing before archiving, unless you relegate the Adult-only material to a specific thread that never gets archived.  I'm not sure if there's an option to edit an archived thread, but even if there is, you should edit it BEFORE it becomes publicly accessible.)

I've done that a few times in the past, with games that looked like they had an interesting premise, but I wasn't too sure about (probably should have done it with a few others that I actually joined, as well)...check in every so often to see how things were progressing.  I believe that's one of the reasons that games you look at are automatically added to your list on the Main Menu...so you have the option of checking in on them for a little while, before decided whether to RTJ or not (or, it may be some other reason and that's just the only reason I keep them on my list...)

Yeah, I keep teaser material in Group 0 but everything else in Group 1 (etc). I've known GMs who kept their entire campaign in Group 0

I think that's what I'm going to do for what I have in mind next. Thanks.

I keep my entire campaign in Group 0, but OOC posts in Group 1.  That way visitors can read the campaign but the players' chat is private.
