Re: Regarding RPOL (non)Bias
I would call it quite Lawful Neutral (in 3.x terms, no idea in other iterations). jase is pretty generous, I might even go as far as to say he's maybe neutral good or lawful good, but maybe not. If all that alignment was, was based on online contribution of time, energy and devotion, then yeah, heck yes he's good. He puts hard work into the updates. The mods spend how long just patrolling the forums and suspicious games. Then answering rmails and giving technical and logistical aid.
To me though, good implies a bit of meddling. It implies to have an agenda to help people whom are "unfairly" treated by bullies. jase is adamant that regardless of whether you are a ruthless GM, and have the most ill-tempered attitude to your players, making them write applications more grueling than any paid job, then kicking them out for a typo; you can be free to have the board space and ability to participate in public venues/forums, if you but follow the prescribed rules. He doesn't crusade like I've seen some RL GMs do in the LGS.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate sympathy when I've had a horrible GM, but it also nice, because if I fruit up and have a bad day and just act the ass, I have a home, a yard with a tent and table, as I put it in my Hen analogy on Community chat a few years back. I bring my own food, and ink, but get free access to some nice dice and neon signs. Everyone does though.
That's why I think it's LN. While the mods are quite helpful, I don't find them invasive, unless you break agreement, in which case it's foreclosure, not invasion. To me most good (adventurers) break and enter and make seizure of assets a profession.
At the same time though, I don't think the mods far from good. By mods I do mean jase too, even though he's actually the admin. They will forgive trespass of the rules. In fact there's part in the adult rules that talks about them considering just removing your players and telling you in other words "Please fix this. You did it wrong. Thank you" if they are feeling generous. Then the GM need only follow the rules they should have the first time and nothing is lost. To err is human. A true LN regime of mechanus-like order, might just be by the book. "You fruited up. Instant probation of adult access". Though by rights they may have to do that, and for good reason.
Heck, <censor>ChaosSquad10</censor> That really should be exhibit A, and I should have left it at that. I could be wrong, but I vaguely remember reading (elsewhere) that he still has access. Just exclusively with his single original access. That floored me. I mean it shouldn't, but it did. That is if I'm remembering that was written and I didn't midunderstand
As for flesh and blood discrimination...eh. I won't comment on that except to say I think that's easy on the internet with a healthy dallop of tolerance. Although trolls do too exist in the world of Good, Evil, Law and Chaos.
