Re: Riddle Me This XIII

I had thought it was God at first but I didn't think it would be that simple for some reason.

Re: Riddle Me This XIII

So simple it was hard, eh?  :)

Here's the solution, using the most popular concept of God.

There is nothing I cannot do,  [GOD IS ALL POWERFUL]
Except live in reverse; [GOD DOES NT DO EVIL, WHICH IS 'LIVE' REVERSED]
But I do what I do,
No matter how hard you coerce. [GOD'S WILL IS IMMUTABLE]

There is nothing I cannot do,  [Have you ever seen the Blob?  It was unstoppable!]
Except live in reverse; [Go is without morality.  Therefore it is beyond good and evil.  Hmmm... that would make a great book title.  Goo: Beyond Good and Evil]
But I do what I do,
No matter how hard you coerce. [Have you tried to manipulate goo?]

My blade doth yield beneath your feet,
And shines not at all in summer's heat;
But is cut down in defeat,
By the turning blades I climb to meet.

Re: Riddle Me This XIII

Yes.  I guess it wasn't as hard as I thought it might be.  But I do like this one, if I do say so myself.  I think the last two lines give it away.  I was tempted to just use the first two lines.

I got it from the first line.  The next three confirmed it.

I am the maiden, the archer,
 The fish and the bear;
 I am the lion and crab,
 And water I bear.

I messed this up. I will rewrite

Re: Riddle Me This XIII

No, I messed it up.  It was supposed to be constellations initially, and then I decided to make it astrological signs.  Then I realized after the fact that the bear is not an astrological sign.  I was going to fix that, but you answered too quickly.

EDIT: But I guess constellations still applies, just not what I was going for

Re: Riddle Me This XIII

I was in the process of identifying the astrological signs when I realized that the bear was not one of the twelve.  So, I altered my answer to constellations.

What a nice rabbit hole you have lead me down.

I thought it would be an easy fix until I realized that the rhyme depended on "bear."

Re: Riddle Me This XIII

So was the riddle guessed correctly? If so I have one!

One day the King was having a banquet. Attending the banquet was the Farmer, Farmer's Wife, the Princess, the Queen, and obviously the King himself, who all loved food more than life. By the end of the banquet there were four pies remaining, and each person wanted equal shares. How can this be done without breaking the pies, making more or changing the number of people?

Saw and did not see a bird and not a bird
Perched on a branch and not a branch
And hit him and did not hit him with a rock and not a rock.

Not to be too picky, but this is actually a puzzle, not a riddle.  Puzzles should technically be in the Puzzle Room thread.
