"No! Not at all!  Just mind the err... everything and make yourself comfortable.  I'll have the state issued server-bot bring you a drink.

What'll you have? A Flaming Moe, a Flaming Lamborghini, a Flaming Dr. Pepper, a Bailey's Comet, a Flaming B-52, a sooty martini, (lit in at your seat,) a Backdraft, a Flaming Sambuca, a Flaming Gorilla, a Flaming Mouthwash, a shot of hand sanitizer, (it's made with extra fire,) or a 210 proof IPA served in a melted pint glass?

Those are all too much for me!

I'm rather the lightweight, how about some white bread? I find that stuff pretty spicy.

*Holds up a charred chunk of matter that looks somewhat like a piece of bread (and is still on fire)*

Sure. Though it's more very well-done toast at this point.

Noticing some parts of the Lounge fare is dying down, FourLegged lobs a sanitizer grenade into the corner.  "Would you take a whole wheat briquette?"

Whole wheat is worse than death. As a picky eater, give me white bread or give me death!

Sorry my 4 year old typed that.

My intrigue is piqued; Can I modify the color and opacity of my death-blaze? If not, what version of the software will I have to wait for?

I imagine it would change color somewhat based on your chemical composition. You could probably also make some adjustments with supplementary oxygen.

Hmm... do you know what color a Frog would burn?

I also am a bit low on oxygen atm, I've bottled it to save for later, so i dont have any extra to spare for this, I'm afraid.

Does the bar serve Air'booze?

Some of you may not be aware that a long time ago, due to storage considerations, we had to move a lost of posts (probably over 100k) to an offsite storage. They can still be accessed here: https://sites.google.com/site/aswotalphabet/home

Then there was supposed to be a new one here:  https://sites.google.com/site/aswot101/

...but I don't know whatever happened to it.

Re: Timewaster's Lounge XLVII

I just realized it's been almost 15 years since I updated my page for The Matrix RPG game I used to run here on RPoL: http://mastersofthematrix.tripod.com/

That brings back memories. I loved running that game and put a ton of work into it.

I would have thought (with everyone in quarantine) that ASWoT would become extremely busy. You all got someplace better to be?  ;)

Re: Timewaster's Lounge XLVII

I've been lazy.

So lazy that I watch youtube instead of posting on a silly forum board like this.

That's pretty lazy.

---

I can update a few word threads, but the more interesting threads that require some thought (riddles, dungeoneering, etc) are stumping me. I did advocate for a few of those, so I'll try to dig myself out of this rut, soon.

---

Also, agree that aswot seems to be the perfect quarantine hotspot of activity, but few existing users have made re-appearances.

Re: Timewaster's Lounge XLVII

So does anyone else have this issue? In the mid-2000s I ran a Matrix themed game under GURPS rules that I modified, found here: link to another game

Now when I remember the Matrix (15 years later), I can't remember sometimes if some of the lore and background and so forth I created for the game came from me or was adopted from the movies. So you have the problem of sometimes being unable to remember if details for your settings were made by someone else or you? They sort of blend together now.

Re: Timewaster's Lounge XLVII

I haven't done a lot of that type of thing before, or really at all.

Also, my memory is exceptionally good when it comes to something I'm working on...

HOWEVER, if it's something I have worked on, then my memory is far less reliable. I could definitely see myself with this confusion. Even a short break can screw me up, 15 years is almost sure to wreck my recall.

So yeah, I presume to understand it but haven't experienced it. If you're looking for suggestions, I got none, because what I was going to say (that you should rewatch the movies) isn't necessarily reliable. I don't know how much background lore Matrix has, or how much is hard to notice just by watching, but I know a lot of franchises (like Star Wars, for example) have tons, so watching the content won't necessarily be enough to get a full sense of the lore, and what was already there.

Even that isn't entirely useful for seeing what you added. Because that's a whole lot of thinking you gotta do, on top of spending hours watching movies. I'd also suggest reading the game logs, but that could take even longer than watching movies, TBH.

Now that I think about it, I forget game stuff all the time, sometimes WHILE IM RUNNING THE DAMN GAME. This is contradictory to the first thing I said, but that applied more to things I create then games I GM, most my confusion comes from what other people write, mostly because I've had to speed read before to respond/adjudicate in a timely manner.

---

Basically, if you're asking so you can restart the game, I have no advice.

If you're asking just out of curiosity, than TLDR: I've never felt this, but I think I understand.

if you're asking so you can rewatch the movies? Idk, just rewatch them LOL. I heard at least the first one is good (LOL :P)

Anyway, sorry for the long post. I tried to do paragraphs so it wasn't a frickin' WALL.

Re: Timewaster's Lounge XLVII

It's the little things. For example, in the Matrix, I couldn't remember if I made up the name "Zero-One" for the Matrix computer AI, or if that was from the Matrix movies or Animatrix. I can easily check these things, but it's a weird SNAFU in the brain like deja vu.

Sometimes I also borrow adventure ideas such as puzzles or riddles and years later cannot recall if I made up the idea/puzzle/riddle or someone else did.

A larger than average sized cookie hops out of the oven, scampers across the bar and offers Ember a hug and a cold glass of milk.
