Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Jamie moved into the room already firing at the surprised Trandoshans.  His shots go wide as the guards begin diving for cover.  They commence firing though their hasty shots are also well off the mark.

Dropping to one knee Nirro fires a stun blast that catches the seated Trandoshan in the chest, knocking him over backwards.  Cyril's blaster bolt burns through the air where the Trandoshan was a moment ago and scorches the back wall.  A moment sooner and the guard would likely be dead instead of stinned.

Switching targets, Jamies takes aim on the other guard and cooly dispatches with a stun blast.

As the second Trandoshan falls to the ground the only sound to be heard is the heavy breathing of the three Talons.  After hours of silence there had been ten seconds of pure adrenaline.  Now it was silent once more.

OOC:  Well you have two stunned (for now) Trandoshans and no Talons were hit.  Fortunately the fight took place inside the room with only the door open so the sound (hopefully) didn't travel too much.  At the moment.  Jamie is inside the room.  Nirro is kneeling in the doorway (his security kit still sitting outside) and Cyril is standing right behind Nirro (so just out of the room).

Current VP/WP
Jamie - 28/28 12/12
Nirro - 8/17 12/12

Mark - 82/82 12/12
Flash - 26/26 10/10
Devon - 27/27 12/12

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Jamie gave a low whistle, holstering his blaster and rushing to the guard.  "Cyril, detain the techie; stun won't last long."  He quickly relieved the guard of his weapon, produced a set of binders, and set the guard on his stomach.  After cuffing the guard's wrists behind his back, he searched for something to gag the guard with; perhaps the guard's own clothing?  Once the guard is secured, Jamie checks to make sure the techie is relieved of his weapon and secured in like manner.
"Nirro, hurry up and get your stuff in here and close the door, then contact team one.  Tell them we're inside and we've detained two, but we are now unsure of our secrecy.  From now on, though, I need you to follow my orders the way I give them; otherwise, we could all get killed."

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Cyril makes no response to Jamie's order, but moves in quickly on the stunned techie.  Rolling him on to his stomach, Cyril binds his hands behind his back and then gags him with whatever he can find.  He then sifts through his pocket with a skill that suggest he's done this more than once.  He hands whatever he finds to Jamie then moves over to whatever communications equipment he can spot and begins examining it.

"Good," Jamie says once both the Trandoshans are bound and gagged.  He then drags both Trandoshans to the middle of the room, and looks about for anything else of interest, such as doors, windows, closets or stairs.

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Nirro hurriedly puts his kit back together before hurrying into the room. He sits at the seat recently vacated by the stunned techie and takes out his comlink and contacting team 1, Talon Team one this is talon team 2. We have entered the target and have subdued two hostiles. Not sure if we have alerted anyone. Talon 2 out. Nirro tried to make the message as short and concise as possible while not allowing any casual listner to discern its whole purpose. Once down he begins tapping keys on the computer console and tries to log in.

He will search the security system first for any alarms that have been sounded in the last 5 mins. He will then check the security cameras for the locations of any Trandoshan's on the base. Once he has that info up he will call over Jaime for them to decide exactly which systems to hack into first in order to complete their objectives.

Receiving the call, Mark lifts his carbine a little higher.  He looks to Flash and Devon.  Once we get the signal from Jamie's team we go in.  I hope you both remember the layout of the security station because we will be going in hot.  We will have the advantage of surprise but I doubt that will hold long.  So shoot straight and do not hesitate."

"Devon you will swipe us in when the time comes.  I will go in first with Flash right behind me.  I will take the left, Flash you have the right.  Devon your job is to cover the rear and provide support as needed."

Hearing the message from Talon Team 2 Exilim continues to scan the area for movement, as he does so he sees 4 people emerge from the barracks door.

"Talon teams 1 & 2, Talon 4 sights two 2 man patrols emerging from the barracks. They are armed with blaster pistols and rifles,... they do not appear alarmed and their weapons are being held casually."

After watching them for a moment "Talon team 1 you have a patrol headed toward you, Talon team 2 you have the other patrol approximately 50 metres from your position coming towards you. They still appear relaxed."

Pausing for a second, Exilim decides to target one of the patrol heading towards the communications centre. He keeps him in his sights ready to shoot if needed.

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

As Nirro tapped away at the computer terminal his hopes began to fall. Jaime he called, This terminal has no access to camera's or security. The smugglers business info is stored here and that intel might be useful to the alliance but apart from that, the only usefull thing here is a complete listing of the base supplies, personel and ships. Also it seems that the computer here is connected to the hanger so I can send a work order to preflight the ships we want. Given enough time I can dowload the business info to my datapad, find out what the base stores and get the fighters prepped.

Just then Xil's voice comes over the comlink. Guess I wont have that time huh? Nirro pulls his blaster once again and trains it on the door.

Mark cursed to himself as he heard the report.  'What was happening in there?' he wondered.  It was always hard to trust difficult decisions to his subordinates, especially ones he had yet to truly test in battle.  Still Jamie was in the heat of it and he was not.  He would have to trust the man.  Shaking the thought aside he thumbed on his comlink.

"Five this is one.  Team one stands ready to move in on your order.  Its your call."

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Jamie moved towards the communications center in the room, but stopped to think for a moment.  Preflight ships, download, supplies, patrol...
He turned around to face Nirro.  "Download all the information you can, starting with business records.  Don't order preflights; not yet, anyway.  That's suspicious.  Keep me posted on your progress."
He turned again to face the communications console.
"Cyril, you can have a look at this.  This is your area of expertise.  Tell me if you find any recordings or communications memory."
Jamie drew his pistol and knelt by the side of the door where he would have cover before answering the Commander.
"One, this is Five.  We don't have access to cameras or security here, and there are four on patrol, not one.  At this rate using the doctor's card could get you killed; stand by.  Four, this is Five.  Keep me posted on their positions."
He addressed Cyril and Nirro again.  "Gentlemen, this room appears soundproof, but we might have a few visitors.  Nirro, as it is, will team one be able to enter the compound?"

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Cyril, having heard most of the conversation looked between the door and Jamie.  Realising he could do nothing about the patrols outside he moved back over to the communications console.

" These guys obviously never imagined anyone would break into their offices.  There are some preset frequencies in there.  Obviously people they communicate with regularly.  It wouldn't take more than ten minutes to locate who they've been calling.  There is also a decent sized memory to this system and given some time I could probably decrypt them.  I don't have the storage space to download 'em.  Of course we could just lift the data storage devices and take them with us."

Exilim swears to himself while listening to the comlink.

"Five, this is four. Will give you an update as to the patrols movements shortly"

Exilim will then quickly scan the area for other signs of activity, check the movement of both patrols concentrating on the one approaching the communications centre targeting one when he is tracking them.

"Five, four here. One patrol half way to the security station. Your patrol is 5 metres from and closing in on your position"

Exilim lines up one of the patrol ready to fire.

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

From what he could hear over the comms, it sounded to Devon like things inside the slavers compound were about to hot-up some; and that he, Flash and the commander would have to go in any moment now.

Holding his blaster carbine one handed, Devon drew out their copy of the doctors security card and positioned himself ready to open the door.  Catching the commander looking in his direction, Devon nodded once to show he understood his role in all this and hoped that he didnt look as jittery as he felt...

Jamie gave his pistol a last check to make sure it was set to stun before calling the Commander again.
"One, this is Five.  Things are about to get hot, but hold tight."
Jamie glanced around again, then grabbed the two chairs and stood them next to each other, facing the door.  He then crouched behind one, issuing orders as quickly as possible.
"Our best chance is to let them in; the room is soundproofed, so no one else will hear this.  Nirro, try to hide.  Cyril, you and I take cover here and fight."

Nirro Looked around the room for somewhere to hide. He crouched down behind the the desk and peeked around the side. He took cover behind it and tried to remasin out of sight. That way, he could get a shot on the Trandoshans before they could see him.

Hearing the patrol is almost upon them Cyril bursts into action.  Grabbing the techie he'd tied up, he clubbed him soundly with the bitt of his vibrodagger.  Then he ripped off the gag, cut the bonds and began dragging him towards the chair he'd been sitting in.

He looked to Jamie desperately.  "Help me get him in the seat.  We can make it look like he's fallen asleep at the desk.  It might buy us a few seconds."

As soon as the techie is in the seat Cyril ducks behind whatever hiding spot he can.

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Mark was getting edgy.  The reports coming through were necessarily brief but it didn't make him any easier.  He held his faith in Jaime to make the call.  It was always hard to delegate responsibility.  The burden of command.

He turned to Flash and Nirro.  "Now we'll be moving in shortly.  We will try the access card and if it fails we will improvise.  It will vary based on wether I call for a quiet or noisy insertion.  If its quiet, you know what to do.  If its noisy then all weapons set to kill and we move as fast as we can."

Exilim keeps tracking the patrol as they move towards the communications centre. He notes that they are walking side by side. He keeps the nearest one in his sights, hoping that they stay in that formation if they try to open the CC door, giving him the best chance of a clear shot if the need arises.

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Jamie's team hunkered down into hiding positions as Xil's report came in.  Only moments after they had wrestled the tech into position and found hiding spots they heard the sound of someone opening the door.  One of the Trandoshans walked into the room and moved towards the tech.  He hadn't noticed the true state of his comrade. . .yet.  His sidearm was holstered and his rifle was slung over his shoulder.  The second guard had not entered the building and was not in sight.
