He will make his way to the compound door as soon as he has his gear ready.

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Flash's grenade rolled down the corridor and landed between the two Trandoshans.  The rear one gasped in surprise and in a fluke move kicked the grenade as he dashed to one side.  The grenade flew down the corridor towards Mark's position but exploded well short.

Roaring in anger, the Trandoshan leader spun and began running down the corridor, twin heavy blasters aimed at Flash, who was standing in the medical centre doorway.  His companion took a few moments to recover before joining his leader's charge.

OOC:  For your benefit flash you throw was perfect.  However BOTH trandoshans made their fort save (gotta hate those dice).

Anyway you've got two Trandoshans rushing towards you.  One is about 10 metres away wielding twin heavy blasters, the second about 5 metres behind him with a blaster rifle.

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Mark instinctively ducks back as the concussion grenade explodes in the hallway.

'Guess Flash finally got to play with those grenades' he muses, assuming it was the Duros who'd caused the explosion.

Pulling back into position he lines his repeater up on the hall while remaining behind cover as much as he can.  He waits for a Trandoshan to show its head. . .or any body part for that matter.

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Flash lets out an exclamation of triumph at his aim, then one of disappointment at it getting kicked away, followed quickly by what sounded like a squeak as they started charging him.  Grabbing his heavy repeater, he dives for cover, then takes a few shots at the charging Trandoshans.

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Nirro drops to one knee and fires his rifle at the charging Trandoshan.  His shot scores a graze on the opponents shoulder but seems to do no real damage.  The Trandoshan opens fire with his twin blasters, missing with one but hitting the slicer dead centre in the chest with the other.  Nirro falls to the ground, bleeding from his gaping chest wound.

Flash gasps as his comrade falls but steadies himself to fire his repeater.  The recoil of the weapon proves too much and the bolts all fly wide and high.

OOC:  Well Nirro is down, the Trandoshan leader has minor wounds and his companion is uninjured.  The leader has just reached the medical centre door this round (this will negate Flash's cover

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Jamie was about to call Xil for a report when the call came through.
"Good!  Four, be prepared for some action; it's not pretty down here."
As Jamie finished his comm call he began to inspect the package Flash had left by the turret.
"Mini-grenades, and a launcher to boot!  Oh boy, what a treat!"
After another look around the courtyard he picked up the launcher and enthusiastically loaded it.  Once finished, he set it down and prepared himself to use the turret.

Flash drops to his knees for a moment to steady his blaster at the Trandoshan in the doorway, then takes a few shots before jumping back to a slightly more protected position.  Grabbing his comlink, he yells "Eight is down!  He looks like he's still alive, but you'd better get help in here fast!"

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Flash drops to one knee and lets loose a volley of autofire at the approaching Trandoshan.  This time, the Duros in on target and his shots cut through the Trandoshan leader like he was made of flimsiplast.  One of the shots continue through and strike the trailing Trandoshan in the head.  Both enemies fall to the floor in a bloody mess.

Once they fall the only sound to be heard is a Duros' heavy breathing.

Mark comes running down the hallway moments later.  Seeing there are no enemies he turns to Nirro.  Pulling a medpac out he begins using it on the worst of the slicer's wounds.

"Two report.  What happened here?  You were supposed to contain them, not let eight get shot up.  I need him to secure out escape."

He growls.  "Secure this building.  Now.  Get the prisoners ready to move.  Find the doctor and send him in here."

He jumps on the comm.  "Five.  Once four is in make sure he locks us in tight.  Then I want you in here to help with the prisoners."

OOC:  Well Flash, I guess the dice like you.  Two critical hits in as many rounds!  Lucky thing!

We'll assume Xil has arrived and has locked the gates.  This allows Jamie to act.

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

A voice comes from the first cell on the left.  A human can be seen looking through the bars.

"By the light I hope you are the mercs who Jek was in contact with. Darak Aeleth here - Junior Officer of the Bothan Exchange Conglomerate - Grade 9A, Service Number 23-72-11. If you are here to rescue us, the cell doors are jammed. There are two in the cell directly opposite me who might need medical attention. I'm still well enough to fight, just badly winded. My friend in the cell here is Daniel, and I've patched him up enough so he is mobile - we aren't priority but Jek and Roy over there took some heavy hits in the firefight."

A second human appeared at the cell door looking out.

"Good to see we've finally met someone with the firepower to take care of those guys. I've been injured but I will survive. Darak here and Jek in the other cell might be able to proide you guys some aid and I can help with moving the injured and evacuating the other slaves."

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Mark looks up as the two prisoners speak to him.  When they've finished he turns to Flash.

"Grab the guard's swipe cards and try them.  If they don't work, head to the guard room and check out the security."

He switchs on his comm.  "Five, this is one.  The cell doors are apparently jammed.  Your 'special skills' may be required.  Bring your demo kit and get here now.  Four can take your post when he finishes the lockdown."

Mark walks over to the cell where the two humans are.  "We are indeed here to free the slaves.  The doctor was helping us.  Tell me how is it you are armed yet locked in the cells?"

Checking that Xil had locked the gates, Jamie jumped on the comm.
"This is Five; I'm on my way."
In, out, in again...just don't get shot, eh?
Jamie takes in the sight of the grenade launcher with a sigh.  "Until we meet again," he says, hurrying off to the detention center.

Hearing the man on the other end of the cell Daniel responds. "We took cover in the cells when the trandoshan guards arrived in the infirmary. We were able to take out a few but they got the upper hand and shot us up pretty good. Luckily Roy changed the codes to the cell doors or we might not be here right now."

"Indeed, the stun gas grenades and their respirators allowed them to cut us off from our fall back position in the guard room."

"Jek gave us a way out of the cells with his swipe card. Daniel, Roy and I have all had some combat experience and we managed to acquire some weapons and gear - though not enough to match the Trandoshan Boss and his crew when they came our way. Still, we managed to take a few of them out - and stay alive - against superior force. Jek did tell us that you were coming, though the impression I got was that he had alot of unknowns to work with. Maybe thats why he recuited us for some support."

"So ... number one, Sir?... what are your orders once we are out? If you need another medic I am a Doctor, and I am a decent pistol shot."

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Mark looked a little incredulous as the group told off what had happened.  He figured there was more to it then being told.  How did they arm themselves and then get themselves locked in with no way out?  Still it didn't really matter for now.

"Well gentlemen.  Please excuse me if I don't offer up our names at this time.  Operational security and all that.  You can call me one for now.  I lead this little band of mercenaries.  The Duros over there is known as two.  He uh. . .well he does whatever odd jobs I need."

Seeing Jamie come down the corridor he waves towards him.  "This is five.  He's my demolitions expert and is serving as my second in command at the moment.  He's now going to do what he does best."

"Five, get these gentlemen out then blow the other door to get to the other two.  The doctor is badly hurt and so is thier friend. . .Roy was it?  This Darak fellow states he is a medic so the sooner we get him out the better."

"I didn't catch your friend's name or what he does.  I need all the hands I can get.  My communications man is dead and my slicer is the gentleman lying on the floor over there" waves to the medical centre, "who desperately needs a bacta tank."

Flash grabs the card and tries it, then nods at the two as he gets introduced.  Turning back to the door, he tries the card a couple more times before turning away, disgusted.  Dropping the card, he starts back to the guard room to try to open it from there.

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Seeing that the Commander is looking for more deatil Darak offers the following while cells are being opened "Of course - One - it is Roy who is a slicer I think, he hacked into the security network at any rate. Jek, the Doctor - or Daniel might know more about each other. The three broke out of their cell with help from Jek, and I wasn't around for how the got the weapons. Once I heard them making a bit of commotion I called out to them. They took out a trandoshan in their breakout I think. Oh yes, Daniel ... you are a soldier right? I am guessing from the way you handle the rifle. Never did learn those proper firing postions."

"Anyway they sprung me from my cell and we then heard a a group of Trandoshans taking up postion in the medical bay. At that time Roy was working away on a makeshift grenade and hacking the security system while I celared these two cells of prisoners so they would be away from the med center - explosions and Trandoshans and all. We also cleared the cells to set up a cross fire, which worked brilliantly ... but they came through before we had a chance to set up anything else quick  - like a tripwire or shims for the doors. They came in just a minute earlier then we had hoped."

"So like I said we took one more out straight away in our crossfire and pinned them down for what seemed like a full minute ... They countered by putting on respirators and all three of them - maybe four - coming out as they filled the hall with gas. Though I could not see it becuase of the gas cloud there was some reason we couldn't move to our fallback position in the guard room. So we were forced to stay clear of the gas by retreating into the cells. Then they slammed the doors on us. We took some heavy fire when most of us were slowed up by the gas, but I got to cover behind the door here and managed to take out another Trandoshan. They couldn't get in becuase the doors were frozen and it allowed me some time to patch up Daniel here."

"I would be happy to tell you more, One, but up until fifteen minutes ago I was snoozing in a cell. I have been here for a bit - figured the Slavers were taking the time to squeeze my company offices for ransom or something. Who knows really. Very glad that you and your band are here though ..."

"Did I miss anything Daniel?"

Exilim had packed his gear and rushed to the compound as fast as he was able to. After making sure that the outer door to the the security station was locked and that the security station was secure he makes his way to the heavy repeater recently left by Jamie.

As he gets to the repeater he uses his commlink "One, four here, have secured the the compound and taken up position". He notes that there is some equipment at his position..."Need to remember to take with us." he says to himself as he does a quick scan of the area.

Jamie waves two fingers in response to his intro as he marches down the corridor.
His eyes run smoothly over the jammed doors, calculating the best way to open them quickly.
After half a moment of consideration, he turns to Darak, saying, "Properly blowing this could take a few minutes.  Back away, please; sit in that far corner."
Making sure all observers were clear, he simply took careful aim with his rifle and fired several shots each at the hinges before examining his progress.

Not wanting to get in the way of a demolitions expert and his work Daniel backed away from the cell door and moved to a far corner of the cell.

"Jek, as I'm sure you know, had infiltrated the slaving compound to try and help free all of us." Daniel added to Darak's commentary. "He smuggled me a holdout blaster and with his help we over powered the two slavers on guard duty. We relieved them of their weapns and the rest is pretty much as Darak has said."

Re: Act 3:  The Assault

Mark fixes Flash with a 'Why are you still here?' glare before turning back to Darak.

"I welcome your assistance should you all be willing to give it.  All I require is that you follow my orders to the letter.  Once we are free we can discuss what happens then.  If you feel this is unacceptable then you can remain witht he slaves."

"One question Darak, Daniel.  Our exit will be by spacecraft.  Can either of you fly or serve any shipboard function?  I am already down at least one pilot."

"Five will remain in charge here.  I need to help eleven arrange our transport.  Break these men out and see what can be done for Jek and Roy.  If Roy and my silcer can be revived send them to the hangar.  We'll need all the help we can get.  When two gets back send him to download everything he can from the systems in the security centre.  Then I need him to start stripping the place of everything he can in preperation for departure.  Perhaps Daniel you would be willing to help him with that.  The security centre is loaded with weaponry.  The barracks may hold items and information of value also."

"Five don't forget phase three of this mission.  Perhaps you should leave the other prisoners in the cells until that is complete so they don't mill around like lost nerfs."

Once he has his answers and if there are no questions, Mark moves off to assist Devon with prepping the ships for flight.

Flash is out the door before one finishes the look.

Once he gets back to the guard room, he settles down in front of the computers and tries opening the door again.  "If it works at all, it will work now..."  When it doesn't respond, he curses.  Recalling the blaster shots, he mutters "Melt the hinges, why don't you.  Now you'll have to blow it open.  Though that's probably what you wanted to do all along..."  Turning his attention back to the computer console, he figures he might as well open the cell doors, and sets about doing so immediately.

He pauses for a second and then continues. "I'll help where I can. I'm sure this place has plenty of equipment and supplies that should prove useful to your outfit."
