Re: Prison Cell 8

As the slaves take their bunks and the doctor moves to attend the wounded man, the two guards enter the cell and stand on either side of the door, backs to the wall.  Their blaster pistols are held at the ready and they watch suspiciously as Roy is tended for his 'illness'.

Daniel eyed the two guards cautiously. They looked ready to fire at a moments notice. He thought that he would be able to take one but two was a different story. He glanced back over at Roy and the doctor. "Well what's the verdict Doc? Are you going to be able to fix him up?"

Re: Prison Cell 8

Jek muttered to himself as he listened to Roy's story and began examining.  Occasionally through the muttering coherent phrases like 'Heart rate 65 and regular.  JVP normal.' would emerge.  The rest was just mumbling.

When Roy asked for a hand sitting up, Jek slid a hand behind the man's back to help him up, stil mumbling to himself.

Once standing Roy leans in to the doc and in a low whisper so only he could hear.I don’t need you to get hurt stay down.

Roy then attempts to accidentally fall in the guard that is the farthest away from Dan.

Hearing Roy's words, Jek quickly pushes Roy back towards the bed.

"Steady there.  I think its a bit soon for you to be standing up.  Its nothing serious.  Probably just a muscle strain.  I'll get you something for the pain and to help you sleep."

Re: Prison Cell 8

Seeing Roy try and take his fall Daniel raises a questioning eye brow and almost jumps off his bunk. 'What is he doing?' Daniel thought to himself. 'It's too risky to try anything right now. Even with one guard immobilized for a few seconds we don't know how the doctor would react.'

He immediately relaxed however, when the doctor pushed him back into bed without alerting the guards. Breathing a silent sigh of relief he nods at Jek"Thanks a lot Doc I'm sure he it will fix him up in no time."

Re: Prison Cell 8

Jek looks over to Daniel.  "Yes, I'm sure he'll be fine as long as he rests and does nothing silly.  Its so easy to hurt yourself around here.  Problem with that of course is that you can get others hurt with you."

"I'll just get that medication."

The doctor leaves the cell and returns to the medical centre.  After preparing the injection he retuns.

"Benthalazine.  Its wonderful stuff.  Acts as a muscle relaxant, analgesic and sedative.  A jab in the arm should give you suick relief and probably make you sleep for a few hours."

He jabs Roy in the arm with the drug (assuming nothing else happens or someone tries to stop him).

He nods to Daniel.  "The fascinating thing about this drug is the oral form.  It dissolves in most liquids and is undetectable to taste or smell.  Unlike the injection it takes hours to work, building up slowly.  When it finally works though it leaves you paralysed and sedated for hours."

"Still.  You don't want to hear me yabbering on about pharmacology.  I'm sure you wont to get some sleep.  Who knows when you'll need your strength."

Daniel gives a half smile and nodds at the the doctor. He mutters a silent curse and takes a look over at Roy to see how he is reacting to the chemical. "Benthalazine....I'll have to remember that just in case I ever need some to help with my sleep Doc. Sounds like some good stuff especially for those who have trouble disobey orders....like those from your body about when the right time for sleep is." He chuckled as he glared down at the doctor. 'I'll remember this Doc and if there is one thing you don't want to deal with, it's me with a vengeance...' He thought to himself.

"Yeah well I know your probably a busy man Doc so you probably want to be getting back to your work. I think we are all good here"

The doctor leaves and returns shortly after with a syringe.  He jabs Roy in the arm and nods to Daniel.  He then leaves the cell.  Cautiously the guards step outside and shut the door.  Roy and Daniel are left alone once more.  The other slaves continue to sit silently.

"How you doing over there Roy?" He asks as he jumps to the floor. He cast a worried look over at Roy. "It looks like we may need to find another way out of here." He laughed trying to lighten the mood. "Atleast we know that the doctor can't be trusted."

Re: Prison Cell 8

Roy could feel the drug entering his system.  He focused on fighting its sedating effects but it proved stronger than him.  His legs and arms felt like they had turned to jelly.  He could barely moan before he fell into a deep sleep.

With nothing left to do, Daniel took his bunk and fell into a light sleep.  He awoke later when he heard a distant rumbling noise which was probably thunder.  Still it was similar enough to an explosion to cause the soldier to sit up immediately, all semblence of sleep gone.  He looked over to Roy who was still fast asleep in his bunk.

About 5 minutes later the doors opened once again to admit the doctor.  Once again the two guards stood in the door, thought looked far less alert than last time.  Obviously it was hard to stay alert when you were on duty in the middle of the night.  Still their faces were determined and their pistols held in steady hands.

OOC:  Critical fail on your fort roll to resist the drug!  The dice must hate ya!

Re: Prison Cell 8

Jek smiled at Daniel.  "Gotta check on your friend here.  The medication should be wearing off by now and I need to make sure his pain is gone."

Seeing that Roy was still asleep he began rubbing his knuckle up and down Roy's sternum.  "Wake up now.  Sleepy time is over."

Seeing that Roy doesn't waken he frowns at Daniel.  "Must have narc'd him good.  Gimme a hand to get him up."

Jek slips his arm around Roy and motions for Daniel to do the same on the other side, muttering the whole time about soft humans who can't handle a little sedative.

Re: Prison Cell 8

Jek looked to Daniel for a second then began lowering Roy back on to the bed.  "He's not ready to get up yet.  Drugs hit him hard."  Once he has Roy on the bed again he begins checking his vitals once again.

Having done his checks Jek stands and moves to the door.  As he reaches the doorway he turns and says to Daniel.

"One thing before you shoot your mouth off.  You know I'm right."  He puts extra emphasis on the last two words.

Daniel watches the doctor head towards the door. He sighs and turns to walk back to his bunk. He pauses in mid stride and turns to Jek and says "Oh yeah Doc one more thing...." Pulling the blaster he received from Jek he aimed it at the gaurd furthest away from him and fired. "....duck!"

Re: Prison Cell 8

As Daniel brings his weapon to bear, Jek is already in motion, lunging at the guard on the right.  He slams into the guard and drives him to the ground.  The guard's blaster clatters away as the Trandoshan bashes his head on the corner of a bunk.  Jek falls on top of the guard, temporarily stunned.

Wether he had picked up on Jek's signal to shoot the left guard or not, Daniel nonetheless correctly shot at the other guard scoring a direct hit.  Unfortunately the hold-out pistol lacked the punch to kill the guard in one hit.  The guard retaliates and Daniel feels the blaster burn across the side of his face, missing him by milimetres.  The ex-imperial feels the flash burn and gasps at the closeness of the shot.

Not wasting time, Daniel shoots again this time hitting the guard in the throat.  The guard slumps to the ground dead.

Daniel takes a breath and turns to see Jek pick himself off the floor, retrieve the stunned guard's blaster and pump two stun blasts into him.

OOC:  One guard dead, one guard stunned.  One techie sleeping, a doctor who since he's a star rugby player and a soldier with a nasty razorburn!

You are now armed.  Each guard had a light blaster pistol and a stun baton.  You also have the hold-out pistol.  The guards also have swipe cards.  And the door is open!

Re: Prison Cell 8

Daniel feels the side of his face making sure no damage accured. He silently cursed at how close the blast was and walked over to the slain gaurd. He kicked the guards body over and took the blaster pistol and stun baton he had been carrying. "You got anything to wake sleeping beauty over there?" He asked. He picked up the guard's card and pulls the body inside the cell.

Jek looked to Roy in frustration.  "He's supposed to be awake already.  I didn't give him that big a dose!  Guess he's hypersensitive to that stuff.  I'll grab a stimulant for Sleping Beauty.  In the meantime the guy on duty normally has a rifle stowed in the guard room.  Just at the other end of the corridor.  There's also two cameras.  One in the hallway and one in the guard room.  You might want to deal with those."

Jek heads to the med centre to find something suitable to wake up Roy.

Daniel nods.  I'll head down the hall to have a little chat with the gaurd. You see what you can do here. I'll be back when I'm finished."

With blaster pistol, at the ready Daniel heads down the corridor. He is caustious, remembering Jek's warning about the cameras, and carefully looks for them as he moves to avoid being caught by them.

Re: Prison Cell 8

While Daniel moves down the corridor quickly,t rying to get out of sight of the hallway camera as quick as he can, Jek returns to the medical centre and prepares an intravenous sedative and a stimpatch.

Returning to the cell he places the stimpatch on Roy's arm.  Then he turns the man's arm over and quickly finds a vein.  He quickly and competently injects the drug into a vein.  Within a minute the drug takes effect and Roy wakes up.

Daniel meanwhile stands outside the guard room which is the sole 'blind spot' in the two camera's range of vision.  Taking a breath he dashes in, grabs the blaster rifle and dashes out of the room again.  He hopes anyone watching the cameras does not spot the movement.  However the risk is worth the reward as he holds the extra weapon in his hands.

Daniel returns to the cell to find Jek supporting a groggy, but now awake Roy.

OOC:  Well the cameras are still operational (Daniel has been merely trying to minimise his time in the camera's LOS).  Roy is now awake.  He is groggy but the stimpatch is helping (will take some penalties to his rolls for a while).  YOur arsenal now consists of:

Stun Baton x 2
Blaster Pistol x 2
Blaster Rifle x 1
Hold-out Blaster x 1

You also have 2 security passes (1 from each guard) as well as Jek's pass.  The guard's passes will open guard-appropriate doors and Jek's will open doctor-appropriate doors.

There has been no activity from outside.  The rest of the slaves seem largely subdued and are not saying anything.

You are out and armed.  Too bad you are inside a slaver compound with lots of  trained and armed Trandoshans who wont be happy when they learn of your escape.  Hope you guys have a plan!

Re: Prison Cell 8

Jek glared at Roy.  'Is this guy for real?' he wondered.

"Well I haven't been hurt so far pal.  In fact I'm the one who saved your scrawny hide and that of your cellmates.  Did you really think the guards would fall for your stupid sick call?  I could have turned you in then and there.  Then you were gonna try some heroic tackle or other rubbish.  You would have eaten blaster fire before you got a metre."

"Maybe you don't care if you die in a blaze of glory but these guys would take it out on your cellmates.  They don't need to suffer anymore just because you have a hero complex.  So next time think beyond that peanut sized cluster of neurons you call a brain before acting."
