Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Location: the Hotel Elevator

The turbolift doors 'shoom' open smoothly and a rush of noise hits the Talons waiting therein.  Shouts, screams and calls echo down the corridors but it's immediately obvious - mainly from the music playing behind the sounds - that it's no kind of gunfight or hostage situation.  They aren't shrieks of fear but shouts of amusement and fun.

It's a party.  A really big, really loud party.

Two humans (both male) stand nearby, one either side of the elevator, and smile automatically to the Talons.  They're dressed in hotel staff outfits.  No wonder security isn't up here; not only is it clearly a party (and security would have seen that from the video feed of the cameras in the hotel floor's corridors) but at least some of the hotel staff are in on it.

"Welcome to the Party of the Century," one of the wait staff says smoothly.  "Please keep weapons holstered and leave any grudges at the door. The free bar is in room sixteen; food can be found on tables and in bar fridges throughout the level.  Please respect any locked doors and have fun."

The other human raises a party horn to his lips and, with a rather forced smile, blows it.  It unrolls and toots.  One has to wonder if that's all the staff member has been hired to do.

There are heaps of people here already, at least a hundred party-goers, dressed in a myriad of different outfits from business wear to clubbing duds to gang clothing.  There are quite a few gangs represented here, too, though exactly how many is hard to say as the Talons haven't been on-planet long enough to really tell.  Nonetheless there's a big selection of street types.  Word of this party has obviously managed to get around.  Here and there one can see a serving droid carrying a tray of nibblies.  Someone has even brought an astromech unit that's been modified to lug around a small cask of beer, dispensing it from taps on its chest.

(( OOC: It's on!  Party like it's Shore Leave!  Please note that if/when you split up you will almost certainly lose track of one another. ))

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Devon stared goggle eyed for a few moments and then without looking round reached sideways and closed his hand over Arins on-display blaster, pushing it gently downwards and out of sight.

He took a few steps into the room, staring round in disbelief at what he was seeing; then turned to face the other Talons.

"Vyn." he said, using Heigrens cover identity.  "He's here, or he arranged the whole thing.  Either way he's - huh? thanks." he said to the random person who'd just pushed a drink into his hand.

"Either way, I bet you he knows more about this than we do.  So lets look for him.  But first things first, I'm gonna see if my room is still locked, and if it is, I'm gonna dump my stuff in there.  You guys are welcome to leave things there too."
Devon looked around again, then shook his head in disbelief and peered into the glass he'd been handed, trying to decide what was in it.

Mika nods, wanting to make sure her own room is locked as well.  There was a time when she'd have found a blow-out like this much to her liking, but she's still miffed about being locked out of the hanger and not in the mood to deal with a bunch of people, many of whom wouldn't get out of the way.  She turns to Sheila and practically shouts, "I'm going to make sure my room's still locked, then head down to the lobby.  If you want to see the holo, meet me down there.  If I don't hear anything in the next half hour, I'll assume you've found true love and I'm on my own."  She smirks and gives Shelia a wink.

Flash looked at Mika with surprise at her comments.  Then he turned back to the scene at hand.  The party seemed to be under control for now.  But that could change.

"I'm staying here.  As head of security it's my job to protect our possessions and our interest.  Anyone who wants to help, I'd appreciate it.  For now I need to check the perimeter and find Vyn, if indeed this is his work."

Flash was doubtful.  He didn't know the Zeltron well but he knew as of a week ago he had no money at all.  How would he put something together this big on a planet he'd never been to before?

Janine steps out next to Flash.  "I want to make sure my room is still locked, if there's anyone in there, Vyns dead.  I'm staying, there are already complaints, and cleaning this out is going to be a pain.  and Yes,  Vyn could do this."   Although she hadn't expect him to bring the party back here.  Idiot.   She looks at the head of security, "You want to check the rooms together, otherwise, we'll never find each other again."

"I've got your back, Forim." Arin wasn't exactly thrilled about the surprise party. He wasn't very thrilled to be stuck with Flash either, but the Security Chief had a good point about securing things and since Arin had very little in the way of possessions, he didn't have any kind of a hurry to check on them - there just wasn't anything worth stealing.

He leads Sheila and Arin in a sweep of the floor, taking time to ensure rooms are locks, especially Mark and Zyra's.

Arin kept the blaster hidden but readied for any surprises. He had decided to show Flash, he knew what he was doing and despite the differences in doctrine, the Imperial security protocols were reasonably good. While he was a pilot, he knew a thing or two about security as well.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Location: Turbolifts

Irrespective of Arin's attitude toward a fellow Talon who obviously trusts him enough to have handed him a hold-out blaster, the Duros heads off through the crowd.  Moving along the corridors isn't difficult, it's just slow; the press of people is considerable and getting greater by the minute.  It's pretty clear that if things don't settle down soon the whole floor will be in full swing.  Already the sound of a live band jamming in the floor's main function room can be heard through the halls, boosted by a series of entertainment droids acting as satellite speakers.

While the party is certainly noisy it's unlikely, the Talons come to realise, that the gathering is so loud that the floors above and below have complained.  A disgruntled tenant who just happened by, maybe?  Or was that the concierge's way of getting the Talons to deal with the problem before it gets too big?

Mika, left by the turbolift to leave or stay as she sees fit, watches as the crowd rapidly swallows the Talons.

Location: East Hallway

Two Nautolans - one male, one female - and an Omwati male race around a corner in a less crowded section of the hallways and almost collide with Flash.  Not one of them is clothed and the trio of streakers are all yelling 'WOOOOO!' at the tops of their lungs.  Alcohol-fuelled mirth, most likely.  There's not too much in the floor that's not alcohol-fuelled, it seems.  They don't even pause to apologise for the near-collision and instead race on, whooping, into one of the spare rooms, scattering a small group of party-goers.

After pushing and weaving through the partiers for a minute or so the Talons find themselves in the stretch of corridor outside their own rooms, the doors of which are still soundly locked.

Small groups of people hang about talking, drinking, laughing.  Everyone seems to be having a good time.  A few of them watch the Talons with vague, passing interest as they approach.

There is a slight pause.  "Request denied.  The hangar must be kept secure.  Psychology algorithms also suggest that the presence of combat-ready droids may increase situational volatility.  Suggest slicing into the hotel security camera system for greater visual acuity and contacting hotel security if situation becomes hostile."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Devon was relieved to see that his room hadn't been broken into and looted or turned into some sort of party sex and drugs den, and after gently ousting a couple of drunken youths in gang colours who'd been propping themselves up against his door, was able to get the door open and get inside.

With a sigh of relief, Devon dumped his bag on the bed and briefly contemplated simply hiding in his room for the rest of the night, but realized Flash would probably kill him if he did.  Besides: party.  Contenting himself with a quick examination to prove that no-one had been in the room, Devon slipped back out and locked the door behind him.

Back out in the crowd Devon drifted with no particular plan in mind, sipping at the drink that had been forced on him as he came in.  Finally he decided he'd better at least try find Vyn and since his quarry was a Zeltron, headed to where the music was loudest...

Flash grunted at CC9's insolence but focused on more immediate issues rather than arguing semantics and the finer points of security.  Whatever Mark had the droid doing, it had to be big.  He turned to immediate issues.

"Janine.  Only attempt to access security if you are confident you wont trigger an alert.  We don't need further. . .complications.  If you do get a feed patch it through to my datapad please."  He was sure Sheila could handle a simple security system but he didn't want her taking unnecessary risks.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Mika decides to worm her way through the press, wanting to check on her own room.  She wasn't all that interested in the holo anyway, it was just something to do since the higher ups felt she was too much a security risk to have around the hanger anyway.

She puts the stun baton on it's lowest setting and tries to avoid using it, but if the press of bodies is just too thick and they don't have the manners to make a gap for her to slip through, well a bit of a jolt wouldn't hurt nobody.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Location: The East Hallway

Sheila gets in after a few minutes of effort, sliding past the security like it's nothing.  Security feeds ping up on her datapad and, a few seconds later, on Flash's.  Heigren can't be seen on any of them; clearly, if he's even in the building, he's in one of the rooms (where security cameras aren't).

Mika manages to worm her way through the crowd without much trouble.  The press of people is thick but not THAT thick.  None of the Talons' rooms have been breached (except by themselves) as of yet.  As a result, none of their stuff has been touched.

Burly male humans and Twi'leks in stripper-waiter outfits roam the corridors (and presumably rooms) with trays of drinks, handing them out to whoever seems to want one.  Glasses of champagne, shot glasses of liquor, tumblers of brightly-coloured cocktails.  All of the glasses are made of a shatterproof transparisteel, probably crafted specifically for parties such as these.  Whether the bottles break or not these glasses aren't going to shatter unless someone drops a house on them (in which case the party-goers have bigger problems anyway).

Devon's drink is fruity and sweet, not overly but certainly easy to drink.  People jostle him as he wanders, eventually ending up in a large function room in the middle of the floor.

Location: The Function Room
(( Note: the function room has security cameras.  Flash and Sheila can see the goings-on here. ))

The stage has been dominated by a band made up of exotic species and a few entertainment droids.  Either side of the stage are huge speaker stacks that belt out music, far too loud for conversation, though from the yelling people seem to be trying.  Those people not dancing, anyway.  Half of Akari City seems to be cutting a rug, shimmying, shaking and otherwise Getting Down.  Wookiees, Gammoreans, Humans, Twi'leks, Nikto, some shadowy humanoids that the Talons will recognise as Cor's Umbaran kinfolk - even a lone Jawa is dancing up a storm on the top of a pool table, accompanied by a Squib in a lab coat and enormous goggles and a Toydarian who flutters nearby and sings - likely very badly.

The sheer heat of bodies gettin' jiggy with it is startling.  But the music is actually really good.  If Heigren is here he's likely to be amongst the very thickest crowd of folk.

Whilst he had the camera feed, Flash liked to 'walk the beat', get a feel for the area.  Cameras only showed you picture, they didn't give you a feel of the situation.

He left Kimy alone for now as he wasn't sure what she was doing.  Last he'd heard she was heading out to catch a movie so he let her be.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Location: Function Room

Devon is finding the function room pretty devoid of Heigren.  He's finding it really full of dancers, though, and as he meanders on he's jostled left and right.  While most people are dressed to party there are still plenty that look like they came straight from various workplaces - business suits, overalls, uniforms and so on.  All of them look like they're having fun (if you don't count the one or two who look like they're arguing over a spilled drink, a misunderstanding about whose girlfriend is actually whose, someone stepping on someone else's foot - nothing violent, maybe a bit rowdy, just the usually party stuff).

He's just finished his drink and handed it to a dude walking by with a plate of empties when he feels slender, cool fingers close around his.  Someone's grabbed his hand and with a delighted laugh tugs him in the direction of the dancefloor.  Looking around Devon spots an exotic, beautiful woman with jade green skin and a black mohawk-like crest of hair that falls to one side of her face - a Falleen.  She tugs at his hand again, encouraging him to join her.

Location: East Hallway

Flash kind of hangs around looking... Flashy.  His twitchy, edgy demeanour makes sure people steer clear of him for the most part, peering with his big Duros eyes down at the datapad now and then.

Mika hears the bang of a door behind her shortly after reaching her room as about a dozen partygoers flood into the room.  A couple start kissing against a wall (seemingly on reflex), many start dancing and a couple go to raid the bar fridge of drinks.  A droid hovers in behind, beeping merrily and flashing strobe lights about, while a handsome-looking Twi'lek man brings in a bunch of bottles and starts mixing up drinks on the kitchen island counter.

Sheila, her eyes firmly glued to the screen in front of her, suddenly spots a familiar figure - Heigren.  The handsome Zeltron is dressed to kill and has joined the pair of wait staff at the turbolift to welcome people onto the floor, shaking their hands enthusiastically, laughing and joking as he welcomes a Wookiee, then a pair of Gand (who knows what they're doing here), then a small group of scantily clad Zabrak ladies, then a Kel Dor and a Twi'lek man, then a couple of Humans...

Location: North Hallway

Arin doesn't get too far, heading around the corner to the northern corridor, intent on making his way to the western stretch of hallway.  The northern corridor is particularly full of people.  Swoop gangers lounge up against walls, a couple of cute Human ladies dance together in a distinctly no-boys-allowed kind of way and up ahead, about halfway along the hallway, a small crowd has clustered around a cheap card table that's been set up.

As he nears he can see the huge, furred bulk of a Wookiee sitting hunched in a chair that's too small. towering over another figure sitting opposite - a Cathar woman.  Both are glaring at one another challengingly and shot glasses - about half of them empty - are lined up in front of each.

A Cathar and a Wookiee in a drinking contest.  Madness.  The Cathar looks like she's doing pretty well, too.

As Arin nears a large figure steps out and blocks his way, leaning casually against the wall.  She's a muscled, toned figure with generous curves and a muscle tee that shows off her impressive biceps.  She's definitely female.  She's also definitely bald and instead of hair she has a pair of long, dark horns that sweep downward from her skull.  An Iktotchi.  Five more Iktotchi loiter nearby, coming out of a nearby room, grinning to one another without a word as the one facing Arin reaches out and runs a finger down his cheek.

"Hey there, handsome," she says in flawless Basic.  "You're pretty cute.  Want to come... 'play' with my buddies and me?"  She winks in a way she probably thinks is enticing.  She's certainly attractive as Iktotchi go.  She doesn't look like the kind of girl who hears 'no' that often either.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Heigren was in the middle of absolute chaos; guests arriving, blaring music, various logistic issues with catering, negotiations with management; he was loving every second of it.  He was very stylishly dressed in an emerald green suit.  A datapad was in one hand and he wore an ear commlink.

Every guest was welcomed with a warm greeting and treated like an old friend.  The fact he knew next to none of these people didn't matter.  How did one become old friends without meeting people?

He'd just finished greeting the Zabrak ladies and admiring their retreating forms when his next guests arrived, A Kel'Dor, Twi'lek and some humans.

He stepped towards the new group and cried with much flair, "Welcome, welcome friends to the party of the century!"  He paused, as if he expected something to happen.  After a few seconds he turned and looked pointedly at one of the hotel staff who sighed, pulled out a party whistle and blew it.

Heigren nodded and turned back to his guests.  "I'm Vyn Teckla, your host.  One moment."

He cut off suddently as he touched his ear comm.  "I said five cases not three, I can't have my friends running out."

He tapped on his datapad and motioned a staffer over.  "Run downstairs, tell them we need another case of Corellian Whisky and to keep those appetisers coming, the braised nerf in Alderaanian honey glaze is especially popular."

He turned back to his guests without missing a beat.  "The band is in the main function area.  Hyperspace Rainbow.  They're going to be big!  Drinks are at the bar in room sixteen and my staff are circulating with those.  The buffet is spread out throughout the floor.  Please respect any locked doors.  Enjoy yourselves!"

He touched his commlink again.  "Who wants to come?  The Akari Hawkbats?  How many?  All of them?. . .No they can't have a private room. . .I don't care if the're top of the intergalactic hoverball league, all my friends are equal here. . .No a donation won't change that.  I have a dozen underwear supermodels here and they didn't ask for special treatment, they. . .Yes underwear models. . .Uh, Novaflare Sportswear I think. . .They'll be here in fifteen minutes?  Look forward to it!

He clicked off his comm and grinned conspiratorially at his guests.  "You suppose I should have told them that they're MALE underwear models?"

Hearing Sheila's call he quickly brought up the camera closest to Mika's room.  He could see nothing unusual save Sheila standing in the doorway.

"What's wrong Janine?  Is Kimi hurt?" he asked as he moved through the press towards Mika's room.  He gripped his stun baton tightly, preparing to fight.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Enthusiastic as he was, Jit’s head eagerly turned here and there while the duo was waiting their turn to share few polite words with the host of the party. And boy he was talking with full of joy! Magnificent stuff! See all these party people everywhere, doctor Veen? Holy Mother Kika’lekki, pure awesomeness! It’s been a hard day’s work so far my friend, but we survived - we did it! PAAAARTY TIME NOW, neat! See that, they’re serving free drinks! Gee someone’s gonna get pretty drunk should they continue doing that throughout the night… Oh no, not talking about you this time doc, haha! Wa… wait?! You hear the music, my friend? There’s a band entertaining the guests! Hurry Major, we must head immediately to the dance floor where the real fun is! Or was it Captain? Your military rank, I mean. No it was Major, remember it now… Almost called you Major Boobs the first time I heard the rank, remember? Hehee! Uups yeah… serious stuff, these military rank things I mean – definitely the last and utterly final time I joke about the matter. Major is it then!

After a breath or two Jit suddenly turned his attention towards the Zabrak ladies just in front of the two. Why hello there, ladies! Having a good time already? Believe me, there are two persons just behind you who’re pretty sure they’ve spotted the best parts of the party already. Yeah, we’re talking about your stunning look and blooming presence! Nothing to see here anymore, could just turn around and fancy you all while heading home! Oh, Please let me introduce myself and my best friend. Over here next to me we have a wild party-animal called Major Veen! The best soldier and medic in the same package! And for your ears only…

Jit lowered his voice… …Major Veen is a true war hero! Seriously injured he was, but the good guy successfully accomplished the impossible military mission alone! Even better than that…He lowered his voice even more so that only the women next to him heard his voice.…Warn you ladies, such a kinky personality he is! Even an open-minded hetero-curious handsomeness like myself has hard times to handle women the way he does!

And what comes to myself... His voice was normal now. …The name is ‘Shak, Jit ‘Shak. Space pilot, demolition expert, adventurer, magician… Doing a simple hand wave and theatrically moving his fingers, it looked as if he would have pulled a coin out of one of the women’s ear. You name it, ladies! We both hope you to have enormous fun tonight. Enjoy your time, and remember: when there’s a huge need of great, masculine company, just join me and Major Veen. Anytime!

After that the fixer gave some special attention to the most gorgeous woman of the group by gently kissing her hand and winking at her. Then it didn’t take long till it was the ladies turn to have to short chat with their host. Finally Jit remained quiet at least for a short whole, although Dohr realized that the excited information specialist had hard times to remain calm.

Laughing cheerfully at Vyn Teckla’s joke, the smiling scoundrel introduced himself. ’Shak, Jit ‘Shak is the name. A man of many skills, we could say. Please to meet you, our host Vyn Teckla. Stunning look, Sir! Just an epic privilege to be allowed to join this most extraordinary party of the millennium! If I’d only have the time to visit my house to wear my top notch suit on! The green-skinned Twi’lek was indeed wearing a bland cloak as well as commoners’ clothes made of soft leather. Anyway, pretty sure that those bat boys of yours will be most delighted to meet the supermodels! Hahaa! Wonder if should stay here a bit longer only to see their faces?! Although there’re many other interesting details to admire likewise…

Mouth open, he started to stare the Zabrak ladies who were just leaving the turbolift area.

Heigren frowned suddenly as he saw the drink in Dohr's hand.  "No, no, that wont do."  He grabbed one of his wait staff.

"Get these two friends of mine whatever drink they want and make sure it's in an appropriate receptacle."  Once the waiter had gone he turned back.  "They're good staff but they're distracted.  They'd much rather be enjoying the party then serving."

When he saw Jit checking out the two Zabrak he smiled.  "Not bad.  If you're looking for a little fun on that side of things I suggest you check out room eleven."

Flash slowed as the situation sounded less urgent then he thought.  When he reached the room and peered in he shrugged.  A few harmless party guests hardly seemed a threat to him in the grand scheme of things.

"I'm sure Kimi can handle that.  You should go and find Vyn, you know him best.  Find out what the frack he's done and how we stop it before the boss kills him."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Party… The Party, he'd been told. Dohr didn't feel the same Jit apparently did about the whole thing. If anything the crowd and the noise made him feel slightly uncomfortable. The Kel Dorian doctor didn't mind the people as such, but in gatherings like this, the participants tended to be a little too… friendly for his liking. But the current state of events being what they were, entering a multi-species party with dozens if not hundreds of attendees, seemed like a good idea. Anyone who knew Dohr Veen even slightly would never expect to find him on the top floor of a five star hotel checking out the ladies with a green-skinned reveller. Of course the last part was solely Jit's thing. No matter how pretty, Dohr's goggled eyes had already passed the Zabrak girls without a second thought.

There really were a lot of people in the party, but so far the doc hadn't seen his ex-assistant Dorank anywhere. He was hoping the kid would stay away, but there was something similar in him and Jit that made Dohr fear Dorank would not be able to stay away. Finishing his initial scan of what he could see of the place, he thought he'd seen a slightly familiar face somewhere, but dismissed it as he noticed Jit talking to the women in front of them. Knowing fully well what to expect, the Kel Dor stood back and let Jit do his thing. He was sure it would be high-fly bullshit with a lot of bragging involved, but even though Dohr thought he knew the fixer fairly well, the man managed to pitch him another curve ball. War hero? Party-animal? Me? If he had a humanlike jaw to drop, he would have. But fortunately the breathing apparatus hid his surprise well. Dohr chose not to comment Jit's little speech in any way and let the Twi'lek carry on babbling to his heart's content. The Kel Dor didn't listen to anything else Jit was saying to the women as he was trying to seduce them in his weird way.

Holding the useless glass in his hand, doctor Veen observed the people around him and stood aside to let one of the waiters pass with a tray full of drinks. If the crowd got any denser he would have hard time navigating with his cane in hand, he noted. Just as it became their turn to meet the host, Dohr decided he would have to find a quiet corner somewhere near the exit in case a need to leave the party prematurely presented itself. Again Jit beat him to it, but it didn't bother Dohr. He preferred it that way. Someone else could be the center of attention while he stood in shadows himself. So he let the broker do his piece first, again.

The doctor limped the few steps to Vyn and shook the Zeltron's hand firmly. "Doctor Dohr Veen. A pleasure to meet you Mr. Teckla. It is very nice of you to provide us all with such a wonderful possibility to disengage ourselves from our daily chores." He lowered his voice somewhat, but perhaps intentionally not enough to keep Jit from hearing what he was saying: "And please, do not mind my friend talking nonsense here. He has had a long, rough day and was forced to go through a difficult and quite fiery parting with his longtime companion. All it took was a couple of drinks at a cantina downtown to get his tongue rolling. I am sure you know how Twi'leks can be sometimes."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Jit hardly listened to Mister Teckla’s and Dohr’s sayings, as he mostly focused on spotting more gorgeous-looking party girls around him. While the fixer’s gaze was wandering at the area, he absent-mindedly commended to the host of the party: Yeah… Little fun… Room eleven… Sure… Jit also missed Mister Teckla’s generous offer to order any drink he wanted, although it didn’t matter much since he seemed to enjoy his current free drink a lot already.

It was Dohr’s last comment that awakened Jit from his fantasy world. …How Twi’leks can be sometimes? You mean like ‘pretty annoying when they get too horny’? Jit laughed and grinned. I’m crystal clear outspoken when it comes to my intention with women. Naturally have suffered quite a many slaps on both of my cheeks - not to mention a couple of well-aimed kicks to my private parts -, but believe me gentlemen: there’re always girls who get hot on straight suggestions, dirty talks and lekku tricks.

Jit grinned again and waved both of his lekkus erotically. He was about to continue when a human female joined the trio. Since it appeared that the woman wanted to speak privately with their host and Mister Teckla was having busy times anyway, the Twi’lek made a suitable suggestion:  We better get going Major Veen, have wasted too much time of our excellent host already. Let’s hit the dance floor first, followed by a visit to room eleven. All the ladies, here we come! Follow me, my friend! Shaking hands with Mister Teckla and making a polite nod to both the Zeltron and the Human, Jit was ready to dismiss and start having fun.

The Twi’lek had secretly eyed the female woman from top to toe as well. Even though she looked a pretty one, the woman wasn’t even wearing an evening dress (OOC: Please correct me if I’m wrong on either case). Sorry Hon, not interested!

Sheila, wearing touristy clothes more suitable to going to a holo or to a mall, not for a party, placed her hand on Vyn's arm, just to make sure he didn't get away, and returned the frank stare of the twileck. If he can read humans, he would recognize that she was not in a good mood, and the talk she was going to have with Vyn was probably not one Vyn would want to hear.  She nodded to the doctor, she might manage to have him not evicted until after he gave Mika another once over, properly paid for.  Then she turned to the Zeitron. "DOes the boss know about this party?"

With a surprised look on his face, Devon glanced around quickly, clearly wondering if the lady had grabbed the wrong persons hand by mistake.  When she tugged at his hand again, a slightly disbelieving grin spread over Devons face and he allowed her to drag him onto the dance floor.

I'll probably make a fool of myself, but what the hell? he told himself - after all, what he had been able to hear from his commlink - which wasnt much over the music - implied that things were (more or less) under control... or at least, no one had started shooting so far.

Part of him was tempted to give up any attempt at security, grab a drink, a fight, a girl and just have fun.  This side of him battled with his sense of duty, the latter part winning. . .for now.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Bowing slightly Dohr thanked Vyn for handling the issue of the redundant drink he'd given earlier. About to give a compliment or two about the host and the party, the doctor was interrupted by Jit, who was obviously very eager to go mix up with the other partygoers. Perhaps surprisingly, the Kel Dor did for once agree with something his "friend" said, although he had absolutely no intention to go dancing or visit "room eleven" what ever was going on in there.

But before the former soldier had a chance to say anything to the Zeltron, he noticed a familiar looking human female approaching. It was the "big sister" of the rider who'd crashed on her first round of the race at the Tracks. The Duros had called her Doc and she'd even given Dohr her card. It took his storming mind a second or two dig up her name from the depths of his memory. But by the time she reached them, he got it: Dr. Carstairs - Janine Carstairs.

At first Dohr thought she might be coming to greet him, but from the look of her face and the way her eyes had been locked on Mr. Teckla, it was clear the two knew each other well. The woman seemed to ignore him completely, so Dohr assumed she didn't recognize him. Yet he wasn't going to leave before he'd had a chance to say thanks and goodbye to Vyn. Naturally when Janine asked for privacy, Dohr bowed and took a couple of steps back.

The sharp goggled eyes did not miss the somewhat angry glance the human doc cast at the Jit and Dohr was slightly surprised to find himself feel anger for a heartbeat too. Didn't Jit understand that not all women wanted the kind of attention he was giving them? No wonder he was in such a big trouble with his girlfriend… Then her eyes fell on him and he got the nod he'd been hoping to see. The Kel Dor didn't really understand why he felt good about her recognizing him after all. He knew the female was quite beautiful as far as humans were concerned. Hell, Jit's lusty stare proved as much. But he didn't fancy her, like he didn't fancy anyone right now and as a Kel Dor, he preferred his own kind anyway. Yet seeing a friendly face, even if somewhat frustrated at the moment, was nice. The day had been extremely long and quite terrible so far. So perhaps a chance, no matter how remote, to have a chat with a fellow physician might make him feel a bit better.

"Ah, doctor Carstairs! How very nice to see you a…" She probably didn't hear much or even any of it, as the good doctor pulled Mr. Teckla aside and by the looks of it, began to pick at him. Not wishing to intrude, Dohr bowed again to them both and moved to follow Jit trying carefully not to trip anyone with his cane.

During the walk back to the room, she's thinking about things.  Heigren didn't take care to make sure the rest of them knew about it, he didn't clear it with the boss or Sarah, but what are the chances that they didn't know about it.  Surely the hotel adminsitration had to know, and certainly would have checked with Mark.  That was the next thing to check on.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Dohr had a look at the direction Jit had disappeared and considered his options. The room with the dance floor looked somewhat intimidating to him. He had never enjoyed swaying alone or with a partner or even multiple partners to the rhythm of music, be that human, Kel Dorian or any other. The doctor liked music as much as the next man or probably even more. But the sounds filling the air of the whole floor weren't exactly his type of music, if it was music at all. And it certainly didn't make his hips move one bit. No, he'd let the Twi'lek enter the jungle of sweaty bodies without him.

As he stood a couple of meters from Vyn Teckla and doctor Carstairs, Dohr couldn't help overhearing parts of the conversation they were having. Back at the tracks Dohr had thought Ms. Carstairs could've been the racer's - K's - elder sister. But now it seemed she was more like a mother figure for more than one of the group's members, if that was what Vyn Teckla was. Dohr felt more than a little guilty about catching a few words here and there. He did his best not to listen, but the woman was clearly very concerned and spoke quite anxiously while forgetting to keep her voice low all the time. The noise from the loudspeakers hid most of the things said between the host of the party and the female doctor, so Dohr didn't get any details and he was pleased he didn't.

He tried desperately to find a place to escape to, but didn't really succeed. During his years as a doctor and criss-crossing the galaxy, Dohr had learned to sense the mood and motives of people from their body language, voice and words. And right now, although Vyn was being very polite, Dohr had a feeling he really didn't want Ms. Carstairs breathing down his neck as he was receiving new quests. The Kel Dor was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable and knew he had to move soon. Otherwise it might seem he really was spying on the duo. He picked an empty spot by the wall across the hallway and started heading towards it when a thought hit him. If the doc was in the party, then would 'K' be there too? And the Duros? Was it just a coincidence?

Despite the suspicion creeping into his mind, Dohr couldn't help thinking about the young speeder bike pilot. He assumed the girl was ok as at least some of her companions were present at the party. Be it a happenstance or not, Dohr didn't think doctor Carstair's group was responsible for the death of his assistant less than a day ago. So after a couple of steps he stopped and turned back as if he'd just remembered something like he in a way had. The Kel Dorian limped past Vyn, patted him on the shoulder as a form of appreciation and said quietly: "You can thank me later." He then spread his arms in a kind of apology and flashed a genuine "smile" at Janine (as much as he could considering he was wearing a breathing mask and goggles).

"Please forgive me for interrupting your chat with Mr. Teckla, doctor Carstairs. But I was wondering if I could have a word with you about young 'K'?" The Kel Dor took a few steps to the side and carried on: "You see I like to follow up on the state of my patients whenever possible. However in your friend's situation, such a thing was not possible and frankly not even truly necessary as I was able to leave her in your capable hands and care. Nevertheless, I would really appreciate it if you could give me a quick update on her condition, for as you know, sometimes a simple concussion can hide the signs of a more serious injury and I would prefer to rule any such out."

Heigren noted the Kel Dor talking to Sheila and her reaction.  Whilst he couldn't hear the words, he caught the intent, even without Dohr's whispered comment to him.

He wasn't surprised when Sheila walked off on Dohr.  When the incoming crowd thinned a little he went over and spoke to the Kel Dor, whom was clearly uncomfortable with the social situation.

"Doctor Veen is it?  Thanks for the assist, it's appreciated.  That woman is very. . .persistant.  So, are you a medical doctor?  Do you work at one of the hosptials around here?"

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Feeling a little foolish and dumbfounded, Dohr watched doctor Carstairs walk away. Perhaps they'd bump into each other again later on and he'd get to another chance to ask his question then. He turned around just in time to see Mr. Teckla approaching. Apparently most of the quests had already arrived or there was a calmer moment allowing the busy host to leave his post.

"Ah indeed, how thoughtless of me not to mention my trade. Apologies. But yes, I am indeed a doctor of medicine and I have specialized in military treatment and general surgery. But I do not wish to bore you with the details of my occupational background." There was a pause as the Kel Dor considered his next words. For while doctor Dohr Veen was skilled in many things, but lying wasn't one of them. "As for my working place… No. I do not work at any of the hospitals on Det Akari. I am more a… an entrepreneur. When I first arrived on Akari, I did not wish to get… stuck in another institutional job handling the same kind of things day to day. And I felt I would be of more use in places where the public healthcare could not or even would not reach. Hence I started my private clinic in the Claws… "

Dohr observed thow he Zeltron reacted to the word. "… some eighteen months ago. My two… " There was another pause and a slight ripple of sadness in Dohr's voice as he said the number." assistants and I have mostly been occupied by the confrontations between the various gangs in the Claws area as well as the racing track. It was there on the Tracks I met your friend doctor Carstairs as well as some of her… companions? There was a young girl who crashed pretty hard, but fortunately wasn't seriously injured. Perhaps you know her as well? I think she had registerd the the race under the alias 'K'."

Dohr nodded to a waiter and accepted a new drink. This time it was in a covered glass that had a nose or straw of sorts coming out from the top. Not very unlike the mugs human babies drank their water or milk from. He raised the glass in salutation to Vyn and took a sip. It was a very, very good Dorian Dreamy Devil.

"Ohhhh, you're THAT Doctor."  If Heigren thought anything of Dohr mentioning of the Claws District, nothing showed in his features.  He was surprised to hear the Doctor was a military man.

"So do you like practising in the Claws District?  I recently landed a sweet gig that got me off the planet I lived on.  It's great.  I get paid to kill Imperials and I even get time off to enjoy throwing parties like this!"

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Dohr smiled behind his mask. So he had been right. They were all part of the same group of non-akarians. He bowed slightly in acknowledgement to Vyn. "Yes. I believe I am that doctor. Although your friend did not really require any treatment or care from my part or at least that was my initial assessment after a few scans. However I would not have released her so soon of course had doctor Carstairs not been there to accept responsiblity. For even a simple concussion may require constant observation for some time."

The doctor did not try to hide his feelings from Vyn and it was clear that something about discussing his work on Akari made him feel uncomfortable. But despite the discomfort, Dohr did respond honestly: "I have enjoyed my work, yes. The Claws is not the easiest of places to practice as the gangs tend to be fairly violent and do not take kindly to the treatment of their enemies. There have been a few unfortunate cases when I have been forced to… well… emphasize..  my stand in the matter, but fortunately we all have come to a common understanding on my impartiality."

The Kel Dor let's out a sigh that must sound a bit strange coming through his voice amplifier and continues: "However less than a full day ago, and actually only a few hours before I had a look at young 'K' at the Tracks, my life on Det Akari took a sudden, quite sad change to the worse." Dohr didn't know why he was spilling his guts to an unknown Zeltron, but when he got started he felt he should let it all come out: "This morning OOC: or was it even morning? I found one of my assistants, a human female called Majara, brutally murdered. I will not go into the details of her terrible demise here as it would just ruin the mood of your wonderful party for both of us. However in order to keep my orderly Dorank from experiencing a similar fate, I have decided to shut down the clinic and leave the planet behind as soon as possible."

Dohr knew his plan might sound like he was running like a coward, but he was not worried about his personal safety. As a trained soldier and a veteran of many fights, he knew how to take care of himself. The few gang members who'd tried to bully him in the past had been thick-skulled enough  to only learn the hard way.

Mika pushes her way through the throng of people, gettiing more and more irritated with the situation.  Getting to her room, she does her best to slip into her room and shut the door behind her, but the press of people have them flowing into her room like a pressure valve blowing.

"She gets on the comms, yelling over the crowd.  "They're in my room."

She brandishes the stun baton, jumps on the bed and yells out, "Get out of my room!"  Any who seem disinterested in leaving immediately, she moves to give a shock.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Location: Turbolifts

Heigren, clearly, isn't going anywhere.  The wait staff relent as Sheila walks off, though they eye her suspiciously.  While they haven't heard everything that's gone on they can tell Sheila clearly isn't happy with the host.

"Should we throw that one out, sir?" one of the staff ask Heigren, nodding to Sheila as she walks away.  "Could be trouble."

Location: Mika's Room

The gathering in Mika's room seems peaceful enough, though with that element of chaos that parties tend to possess.  People quickly move tables and chairs out of the way to create an impromptu dance floor and start gettin' down.  The 'bartender' starts handing out cocktails - complex looking things with layered green, blue and yellow colours.

Location: East Hallway

Flash remains on patrol.  A few people try to get him involved but the Duros's sullen demeanour soon warns them off.

As Sheila reaches the East Hallway she passes a door in the process of being opened and closed as someone goes in.  She doesn't get a good look into the room - room 11 - but she does see a lot of bodies, all naked, doing something that can only colloquially be called 'dancing'.  On the bright side everyone in the room seems pretty happy about the situation.

Location: West Hallway

On the other side of the floor Arin finds much the same.  The partygoers flood in and out of rooms, people drink and dance in the hallway, here and there are couples (sometimes more) engaging in a bit of healthy snogging.  By and large the party seems a bit raucous and somewhat excessive but, nonetheless, mostly in control.

Behind him, from around the corner in the North Hallway (the one he just left) he heard the distinctive crash of a chair falling over backwards and a lot of good-natured laughing.

Location: Function Room

The Falleen woman shakes her head, clearly unable to hear Devon.  She seems quite happy to take the excuse, though, to move right up against the Human as they dance, pressing her form against his and wrapping her arms around his neck to lean up and say something.  He can't hear her, either, but her gyrating movements seem to suggest that shutting up and enjoying the moment would be a great option.  She smells really good...

OOC notes...

These rooms, I should be clear, aren't 'rooms' per se.  They're suites.  Each is as large as a moderately-sized apartment and has two bedrooms, a kitchen area, combined bathroom/laundry and a living space.  A family of four could live in each comfortably enough.

The party seems, at the moment, to be loud and uproarious but not dangerous or wildly out of control.  Anyone with half a brain could see how it could GET out of control but Heigren seems to have the whole thing in hand - for now.  It's a matter of debate as to whether pulling Heigren away from his duties would be better or worse for the situation; on one hand it'd be quite possible to tell the wait staff not to let anyone else in, but on the other hand the existing party may spiral out of control if Heigren's not at the helm directing staff.

He turned back to Dohr.  "Need to get off planet huh?  Well I'll be heading off with my group in a few weeks if you need a lift.  Hell, I might even be able to get you a job.  They could always use a doctor, especially one who is ex-military.    All they've got is Janine, and she clearly hasn't mentioned she isn't a doctor, just a medic.  I can ask the boss if you want.  It's high risk but high reward - my share of the last job is paying for this party.  Oh, and you have to hate Imperials."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Full of joy and excitement, Jit headed towards the function room area. He was not in a hurry though as the fixer wanted to have a somewhat good look about the people around. Whenever there appeared to be interesting partygoers nearby, he gladly joined the group to have a word or two. If a good-looking hot chick passed by, he did his best to gain her attention: leering, checking her womanly curves, whistling, taking few dance steps and moves, doing some skillful coin sleight tricks, and starting minor conversations with punch lines such as “Need more sweet taste to my drink, join me Sugar!, “Getting so hot next to you sexy Baby, could you please turn down that heat of yours? and “Up for some exciting lekku experiences in room eleven, Hun?”

Jit also noticed doctor Veen had left him at some stage, but it didn’t bother him much. The two had made their plans for the following day already, and it was the Kel Dor’s own decision how to spend his free time here. Most likely Jit’s contact didn’t share the Twi'lek's intentions what it comes to the party anyway.

While meeting people and having chats here and there, the broker kept his ears open all the time. He was an information specialist after all, meaning the fixer was very interested in all kind of information and gossips. Oh Kika’lekki, he loved good parties so much! True, he met happy partygoers and gorgeous birds, but people tended to be more talkative and careless with their words when they got drunk more or less, too! Not to mention their unlucky occurrences to lost their property!

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

One plus one is often two. Not always, but most of the time anyway. There were too many things with an apparent connection taking place at the same time for it all to be coincidental. Or if it was, then fate was throwing nasty jokes at him. First there were Dohr's encounters with doctor Carstairs, who apparently wasn't a doctor but a medic instead. In a world with millions? of inhabitants a chance meeting with a visitor from another world was more than rare. But bumping into the same person randomly again during the same day in a totally different place was almost impossible. Yet here they were, in the same party arranged by a Zeltron friend of Janine's. That's one lucky chance!

But it only got better with Vyn's revelation. Their group was apparently looking for people too, for a doctor even. And the fact that a military background didn't hurt, quite obviously pointed in the direction of a rebellious group or at least mercenaries. High risk, but high reward nailed it. The boss Vyn was talking about could not be anyone other than the merc leader who had hired Jit earlier on. The same man who wanted to buy hardware, people and even ships…

Of course theirs would not be the first mercenary band that came to Det Akari looking for new gear and muscle. And although Dohr didn't have connections in the underworld, even he knew enough to say such visits weren't all too common. There was no chance for two similar groups to be hiring at the same time. That would be too much. No, the boss Vyn was talking about had to be Jit's customer.

It now appeared that Dohr Veen had two paths to choose from: He could either be loyal to a friend who really wasn't one. Or he could try and talk himself into the group without Jit. Had he been a greedy man, the choice would've been obvious. Why let another get a cut when you could have it all yourself? But he wasn't one to want money before anything else. To Dohr credits were just a means to accomplish what he wanted to do. Naturally the more money he got, the easier it would be to get to his target, but he'd learned to work hard when there was a need to. Yet putting those famous Ones together, the doctor knew he might have a better chance to be accepted to the group with Jit.

"You are a brave man to talk about the Imperials aloud in such a way. But I have always appreciated courage. Hating what the clones represent nowadays is easy. I have done so ever since they invaded my dear home world and killed many of my kin..d. As for the rest, I would be most interested indeed. I have made up my mind about leaving Akari behind anyway. It is not a place to my liking really and although there is a never ending field of work for one like me in here, it is not very rewarding."

Dohr holds one of his customary pauses before he continues: "And I strongly believe that my actions, my defiance against the gangs perhaps, have brought about the death of an innocent girl. It is something I do not wish to happen again. Ever. In a group where everyone knows the risks involved it is different. That is one of the reasons I enjoyed my life in the military. That said, it does not mean that a life, soldier's or nurse's, would be any less important than another nor does it make losing one any easier. But at least there is little comfort in the fact that the people around you know the realities of what they and you are doing."

The Kel Dorian casts a glance in the direction Janine went a moment earlier. "Ah.. well. I do not mind, if she is a doctor or a medic. What she is doing within your group is equally important anyway and very clearly appreciated by her team. That is as it should be. Were things to advance so far, I would not wish to step on her toes by taking over her position as the medic of your group, not without her consent at least. But naturally, were I to join your enterprise, I would have to be in charge of the medical department. That is something you should mention to your leader, should talk to him about me."

Dohr too another sip of the drink and then a third one. "However, I believe my friend Jit may already have been in talks with your people. He is a very capable broker and as I have understood has a very… profitable deal in the works for a group of, let us say, capable people such as yourself. So as much as I would enjoy chatting with your boss directly, I would not like to hurt Jit's business by cutting corners. I am sure you understand. That naturally does not mean that I would not personally appreciate a few good words you might put in for me. Quite on the contrary. To me your offer or that of your group's would be the best opportunity to get off planet and to find a worthy cause to support."

As he swept the corridor he clicked his comm.  "Rathon, when you've finished the west corridor, could you also check the north?  I'm going to check the function room, find out why Devon is out of contact.  Then I might speak to Vyn about his security arrangements."

Fiarr makes no attempt to keep the woman from spinning, merely takes a step back to avoid being struck with the baton.  The bothan is slightly taller than the human, standing 1.6m tall and is fairly unremarkable in feature.  Her grey fur has no specific markings.  She is outfitted in a simple dress, suited to a party with a small handbag the only feature.  She held nothing in her hands as she faced the human.

As you can see you have achieved your wish.  Of course you could have just asked people to go.  None of us knew this was the wrong room.

She pointed to the Duros, still wimpering on the floor.  Did you think he was a terrorist of some kind that you needed to threaten him with a weapon?  He only just escaped from an Imperial slave camp a few weeks ago.  I brought him here tonight to show him that he could live his life without Imperials whipping him for no reason, that it was permissable to enjoy himself.  What does he get instead?  An armed human threatening him with a physical harm for a minor infraction.  I hope this doesn't irreparably harm his rehabilitation.

Fiarr's voice remains neutral the whole time, without any anger or apparent resentment.  She could have been telling the human about tomorrow's weather.  She then steps off the bed and walks over to the prone Duros.  Speaking quietly to him, she helps him up and leads him towards the door.

The party guests leave Mika's room, but only after the Bothan has left with the Duros.  Several dark glances are thrown the human's way and she even heard the impromptu bartender mutter, "Frackin' Imperials," as he goes.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Location: Function Room

Devon's new friend seems quite willing to have him near her, though when she leans in to kiss him she's hesitant at first (kissing mammals is weird).  She's got no particular issue with it, she soon finds, and (presuming he's interested) is soon half-dancing, half-snogging the human pretty avidly.

Jit, meanwhile, wanders in to spot quite a party.  The thunderous music makes conversation impossible and a few of the girls he approaches flutter their eyelids at him (he IS cute).  He easily spots a certain Nib Squillin dancing on a pool table but he's on the other side of a heck of a press of people.  For the most part people seem intent on enjoying themselves as best they can.  The band is pretty good, though probably not star material.  Not yet.  Considering the broad range of people at the party, though, jit judges that there's probably talent scouts that'll pick them up soon enough.

He easily spots that most of the crowd is non-human.

Location: North Hallway

Arin, having already checked the north hallway, checks it again when Flash mentions it.  The Wookiee is on the floor and the Cathar he saw previously looks a bit smug even if she is swaying a bit.  Those Iktotchi girls are nowhere to be seen (for now) but they're probably pretty easy to find if Arin cares to try.

A couple of people in a corner look like they're having an argument over something.  There's a lot of tough-guy body language and the two seem (to Arin) to be wearing gang outfits - different gang outfits.  That means it could turn nasty.  But it hasn't yet, clearly.

Location: Mika's Room

The guests are now cleared out.  Sheila enters, looking around to see if there's any further interlopers.  The wait staff member who was with her shakes her head at Mika.

"It's a party, miss, you can put that away, please."  He indicates the stun baton by her side.  "If you don't I'll be forced to call security and have you removed."

Location: Turbolifts

The flow of incoming guests has slowed to a trickle now.  Most people who are coming are probably already here and the place is packed.  Fiarr, heading for the lifts, has the nervous Duros by her side.  Dohr knows the signs of trauma when he sees them and the Duros looks like something has badly shaken him up.

She glances at Sheila, "Can you believe that?  A bunch of people just waltz into my suite and when I push 'em to get out, the damn waiter talks about calling security on me.  You got a clue about what's going on?

Once the room was empty except for her and Flash and Mika (if flash stays) Sheila answered.  "Vyn had a party.  Put it out on the social media, probably just after we arrived, but didn't bother to check that the person he delegated to send out the invites sent any to us o4r even notified us.  The hotel knows about the party, I'm sure, but I can't prove it, that the hotel checked with the boss or Sarah, but Vyn didn't tell them himself either.  The question is what we do.  Go out to a holo and let it happen, stay in our rooms and let it happen, go find Vyn and insist he stop the party or at least stuff everyone in his suite, or go out and join the party and pretend we're openminded imperials."  She glanced back at the door.  "You know, if they knew we were imperials, what the hell are they all doing here?  This doesn't feel right."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Flash had wandered over to Mika's room when he had seen people streaming out in such a hurry.  When he saw Mika threatening people with a stun baton he sighed inwardly.  Heigren may have conducted an unauthorised party but at least he wasn't at risk of breaking Det Akari law.

Once the door was shut and Sheila explained her thoughts, Flash shrugged.

"I doubt any of the partygoers know our cover.  They're certainly not going to think a Zeltron hosting a massive party is an Imperial, quite the opposite."

"I don't know if stopping the party is possible.  Waving a stun baton may get people out of your room but it's likely to cause a riot in the main area.  We'd have to do it carefully, if we were going to do so."

Fun party.  Might want to be careful though.  There's a human, probably an Imperial waving a weapon at people and threatening to hurt them.  I think she's a guest on this floor.  Thought you'd like to know.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Still wondering about what to do next, Dohr leaned on the wall near the lifts and observed the people around him. The place was getting crowded and although everything seemed fairly peaceful at the moment, the doctor knew it would only be a question of time before someone who'd had just a little too much to drink would decide to get a major headache about something he'd normally ignore. He'd seen the results of such parties numerous times on Akari and many worlds before it. He certainly wasn't looking forward to cleaning up the mess people inflicted upon each other in their drunken stupor, but he did consider Vyn Teckla lucky to have him around right now. A private doctor would save the host a lot of trouble at least if everything could be handled without the interference of Akari City Enforcement. And he was sure the hotel management would appreciate it as well. Having ACE troopers around would not be good for the place's image.

Shaking his head slightly Dohr hoped he was being too pessimistic again. Not all parties had violent interruptions of course and the Zeltron did seem to have things quite well under control. But he had not missed the couple of guys dressed in their gang outfits enter the party as well. Had they been from the same side, he wouldn't have thought twice about it, but no such luck. So far they were behaving well and his fears were unfounded… So far.

The Kel Dor moved his cane closer to the wall and had to pull back a little himself too to let a trio of loud human ravers pass. Fortunately a few seemed to be leaving too as the place was starting to be too packed for his liking. As the turned back to cast a look at Vyn, Dohr noticed a female Bothan leading a very shocked Duros towards the exit. The man had been traumatized by something other than what that had taken place in the party, Dohr was sure. But it was also quite obvious that something had just torn open his wounds. In these times the two most obvious things to damage someone's mind so, were war or enslavement. Damn the imperials!

Wondering about the more recent events, Dohr got the answer to his question before he had a chance to voice it as the Bothan gave Vyn the heads up on the situation. Her voice was surprisingly calm and without an unnecessary edge. And her words were quite neutral too indicating she wasn't completely new to handling incidents such as this. Dohr waited until she had completed her discussion before stepping away from the wall and into her path. "Excuse me for interrupting, but I could not help noticing the state of your friend there. I wonder if I could be of any assistance?"

A breath later, Dohr realized he hadn't introduced himself and continued: "Dohr Veen, doctor of medicine. Although matters of the mind are really not my specialty, I have had my share of treating traumatized patients before and might be able to help you calm him down… If you would like me to that is. I do not wish to intrude."

No idea doctor.  Some crazy woman threatened him with a weapon and not surprisingly it scared him silly.  Gonna drop him back at the refuge.  Shouldn't have brought him here tonight.  Still the Imperial is making reparations for her actions.  A healthy donation to the refuge to help them support people fleeing from Imperial persecution is a fair trade don't you think?

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

It appeared that the very loud music disallowed Jit to have conversations filled with punch lines with pretty girls. That wasn't a problem at all though as the party had practically just started and the night was still young. The following day would be an important one for the broker, but right now he just wanted to enjoy his life.

The chem specialist Nib Squillin appeared to have joined the party as well, but Jit wasn't very eager to join the Squib's company at the moment. The Twi'lek had gotten into debts to Nib, and assumingly the unstable scientist was here to relax and have some fun instead of discussing about business and demanding Jit to pay. Jit might join the Squib later and hopefully manage to cheer him up... He might even try to get Nib drunk fast and persuade the chem specialist to get involved to the pleasures of room eleven!

The later idea amused Jit, but he soon lost his interest to do the prank so far as the dance floor and dancing beauties caught his attention. First some drinking and dancing, then room eleven!, he thought to himself. Jit grabbed another drink, peered around to spot one or two good-looking party babies (favouring Twi'leks and all Near-Human spiecies such as Zabraks etc.), and hit the dance floor to join the girls.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Dohr was more than a little shocked by the Bothan's words and he wasn't too good in hiding his feelings. "An imperial? In here? Surely you must be joking?… Right?" It would not be a good thing to have a lot of anti-empire people enjoying themselves and drinking a lot in the same party with imperial spies. Although the Galactic Empire had no power over the Det Akarian administration or law enforcement, agents of the tyrant could very effectively hurt Dohr's attempts to get in touch with the rebellious groups. He himself had nothing to fear from the imperial side even if he was as much against them as the next man, or woman. Or so he hoped.

Deep in thought, the Kel Dor nodded at Fiarr's suggestion. "Yes.. yes. I believe you are right. Although I do not see how you would be able to get an imperial to agree that on such a donation being in her best interest… Refuge, you say? So he is or was imprisoned or even enslaved by those bastards? Damn the lot… I would gladly go with you to the refuge and help out with him and others, would you have me. But unfortunately I cannot leave the party as of yet since my partner is somewhat…. preoccupied."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Kimy looked about ready to rip the arms off a gundark just to have something to beat it with, but she wasn't out of control.  She had decided that something fairly significant was required to get people out of her suite and she'd done the best she could with what she had available, and it had worked well enough.

"Yeah, I don't think a stun baton is going to work for the rest of the floor and I don't care to clear them, not until they came busting into my room and calling Security didn't seem like a smart move.

So, if you want to clear people out of the floor, you got to make them not want to be here.  Tweaking the temps would probably work about as well as anything, or playing with the power maybe.  Setting off the fire suppression system would probably do it, but cause more harm than anything.  But I'm not sure it's worth it.  Me, I'm trying to decide if I should just pack up and get another room somewhere."

Between her crack-up on the swoop track, the fussing everyone did about it afterwards, the wrangling between Flash and Arin, the lack of trust on the part of the commander and Zyra, her not being allowed to work on her swoop, her having to deal with the press of the party goers, her last refuge invaded, that Bothan making it like she was the one in the wrong for trying to get people out of her suite and lastly, that damn waiter having the gall to threaten her about it, it was enough to make one want to just shuck the whole thing, find some little backwards planet and go native.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Arin picked the Talon comm from his pocket. "We might have a problem brewing in the north hallway", he said curtly, watching the two swoop gangers doing the Tatooine Stand-off. It wasn't exactly new to him - he had seen these kind of stand-offs before, even been part to a few.

This wasn't the first party of this kind Arin had been to - it reminded him of his early years, those prior to his service in the Imperial Navy, years of racing the swoops and getting drunk on synthenol between the races. And those nights spent with the various females of a number of species. He wasn't sure, if he really missed that or if it was just something that reminded him of his past life he could no longer return to.

If Flash deemed it necessary, they'd break up the fight, but there was a potential downside to that. If they didn't manage to talk the gangers down, they might decide to side against a 'common enemy', the Talons - especially if the Talons tried to subdue them. It'd create a mess of epic proportions and someone might get hurt.

When Arin's comm comes through he tries to quickly bring the situation up on his monitor.  It was hard to make out what was going on.

"Your call Rathon, you're there.  If you need backup let me know and I'll be right there."

Fiarr shrugged.  Well she acted like an Imperial anyway.  Threatened a bunch of people just because they were in the wrong room.  No 'please leave' no attempt at explanation, just weapons and threats of violence.  Maybe it's just a human thing.

Dohr Veen:
In thought, the Kel Dor nodded at Fiarr's suggestion. "Yes.. yes. I believe you are right. The Bothan grinned slightly.  Oh the human has already made a donation, she just doesn't know it yet.  Sometimes seeing the error of you ways requires a little 'help'.

As for my Duros friend, he and some others escaped from an Imperial world a few weeks ago.  I offered to bring him here tonight to learn how to have fun.  Big mistake.

She offers the Kel Dor a piece of flimsi.  The address of the refuge.  If you have any time to volunteer they could always use some help from a Doctor.  I am sometimes there too.  I bring them supplies, and help find people who might even use their help.  I even collect 'donations' from Imperials who feel the need to repent.  She gives Dohr a wink with the last statement, suggesting the 'donations' aren't always as freely given as one might hope.

She takes the Duros's hand and guides him into the turbolift.

"Can I have a copy of that address?" Heigren said, coming up behind Dohr.  He'd wanted to get in on the conversation but he'd been busy with a comm call and had missed her.  He'd done his best to eavesdrop though.

"I'd like to help out anyway I can.  At the least I'll make sure any leftover food and drink is sent over to this refuge.  Wasn't so long ago that I was rescued from an Imperial world and I haven't forgotten what it was like."

Whilst this was partially true, he also felt that perhaps this Bothan possessed certain skills and a dislike of Imperials that would appeal to Mark.  Of course she'd have to survive the wrath of whichever person she'd acquired a 'donation' from first.  He suspected it was a Talon, though he couldn't be sure.  He knew he should stop her, but he couldn't bring himself to interfere with someone who clearly made an effort to help refugees in need.

Heigren kept up a broad grin through Sheila's tirade, clearly not bothered in the slightest.  At the mention of violence breaking out he quickly jumped on his comm and spoke rapidly to hotel security.

"So Kimi was the one assaulting my guests?  Luckily none seem willing to press charges.  The rest I'll have to get drunk and pleasured so they forget all about it.  Please ask Kimi to control her temper.  Oh and ask her to see if she's lost anything valuable."  He quickly speaks to a few of his staff telling them to take drinks to the guests Kimi threatened and steer them to room eleven if possible, giving Sheila a chance to comm Mika.

He turned to Dohr.  "Doctor Veen, could this irrational act of violence be associated with Kimi's head injury?  Perhaps an assessment is called for?  Or should I arrange immediate transport to a hospital?"

After receiving Dohr answer he looked back to Sheila.  "As for this supposed gang fight of yours, security tells me it's just a couple of gangers talking big and posturing.  No blows have been traded.  If I ejected everyone who behaved that way I'd kick out most of the males here.  Perhaps you should speak to security before assuming to do their job for them."

He looked around the room.  The majority of guests had apparently arrived and his staff seemed to have matters in hand.  He pointed to a side room which looked like a droid recharge station.

"We can talk privately in there."  If Sheila still wants to speak to him, he follows her in.

Heigren sighed, they were treading this path again.  He'd hoped there was something new she wanted.

"As I clearly told you before, I asked the hotel to invite everyone.  They neglected to invite people on this floor as they assumed you knew.  It's also been on social media for days and I thought an expert slicer like you would track such things.  Oversight on my part yes and I apologised.  Telling me about it again does not change things.  All guests have orders to respect locked doors and if you guys don't want to be here please go out for just one night.  I'll make it up to you."

"If Rainbow or Sarah want to chastise, shoot or sack me over this then they'll do so tomorrow.  I'll deal with it then.  They told us to relax and do whatever we wanted, that's what I've done.  They were supposed to be invited to the party also.  In fact I assumed that's why they went out for the evening, because they didn't want to attend.  I still don't get why you can't just let your hair down and relax.  It's a party.  If I'm such a traitor, go hunt them down, I'll get you the address of the opera they're attending."

"I also don't see why it matters about our cover story.  What person would believe for a millisecond I'm an Imperial.  Even if they did, who cares?  Besides, cover or not, Kimy is acting like an Imperial by her actions and now you're starting to sound like one.  People will assume you're Imperials regardless of your covers.  For goodness sake, have fun.  Dance, get drunk, get laid.  We can go for it here and now if you want.  Not a lot of room but we could manage."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Dohr was surprised by Vyn's request for a copy of the refugee camp address. He spend a few heartbeats assessing the Zeltron's motives, but came to the conclusion the party's host had no ulterior motives behind his request and was genuinely interested in helping the refugees out. And even if Vyn somehow would have managed to fool the doctor who was very good in interpreting peoples' emotions, there still was nothing to really worry about. A camp full of people running from the Empire were of absolutely no use to anyone but the imperials and even then only for a larger group, not a single spy. Not that Dohr had any reason to suspect Vyn being one.

"But of course, Mr. Teckla. I am pleased to hear of your willingness to assist those in real need as well." Dohr scanned flimsi with his datapad adding the address into his contacts and map and passed the strip to Vyn. "Here you go."

The other man's sigh made Dohr raise his eyes from the d-pad and he too noticed Ms. Carstairs approaching. He couldn't help the grin behind his mask, before turning back to the datapad. It was apparent the human lady wanted a word with the host, not him. He also couldn't help overhearing the conversation as he was standing a meter or two to the side. Apparently and unfortunately it seemed his prediction had not been too wrong. He was surprised to hear one of the group called Kimy was the first one to start waving a weapon around. She had to be the "imperial", the Bothan had been talking about.

Dohr was relieved to hear that the incident was over without any violence, but became very worried about the probability of a gang fight in the party. How he hated to be right sometimes. Vyn's quick question caught Dohr by surprise. It took him a couple of seconds to get what he meant. This Kimy person was apparently "K", the girl who had crashed on the Tracks. "Err.. No. Not really. Or of course it could be in the case she had suffered a fracture in her skull or brain hemorrhage, which she has not. I scanned her twice to make sure. And even if she had injured so terribly, her behavior would be very different from normal in many other ways too. Random acts of violence tend to be caused by mental problems more often than physical… Oh and a tumor would have been visible in the scans too. So no, I would have to say her current actions are not the result of physical trauma, but of course the stress and the relief from the shock may show symptoms such as this too."

Consider his answer a bit more, the doctor continued: "Another assessment would not hurt of course, but I strongly believe this is not the place or the time to do it. So I am afraid I cannot be of assistance there, Mr. Teckla." The last sentence was clearly said with smile and a clear understanding about what Vyn had meant.

The host quickly checked the situation with the gang members and to Dohr's relief, nothing was really happening. Yet.

Arin lowered his voice and pushed transmit on his comm. "Janine, Rathon. Check the landing platforms of the hotel through their security feed and tell me, on which platforms there is a number of ganger swoops parked", he said quietly. A devious plan to get rid of the rival gangers was in development, though, if it backfired, the gangers might literally start getting rid of one another before they left the floor.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Sheila listened to Heigren.  So it wasn;t a devious plan to make contacts, darn that would have been good.  "We have been here less than 48 hours, the invite has not been up for days.  As for your last suggestion, I don't willingly have sex with colleagues or superiors, no matter how much fun it might be.  Never has been fun before. Might be now, but work relationships are wierd enough as is.  Your willingness to sacrifice for the team' mental health is noted."  Mark might be fun, but he's the boss and I'm not going there.  She stopped a moment as Rathon's request came through the com and peered at her pad. "There's one two floors down, that's two gangs."  She showed Heigren the pad and the bikes.  "You know which gangs these are?  And how much they like or don't like each other?"  She started looking up the colors in the local onformation.  Then Mika broke in with her pronouncement,  "Wait a sec before you do something drastic, Kimi,   Don't want you to kill the wrong person." SHe looked at Vyn.  "Who told you that she was missing something valuable, and it was the bothan with the trembling duros that took it, wasn't it?"

Heigren crossed his arms over his shoulder.  "I will tell you what I know and even where you might find this Bothan but first I will need assurances from you and Kimi that you will explore all diplomatic options before you even consider resorting to violence.  It was Kimi's temper that started all this.  Get her in here and we'll talk."

He gave Sheila a chance to comm Mika before continuing.  "You asked me before wether this party was just a front for a recruiting drive.  The answer is no, the party is exactly what it is, a party.  However that doesn't mean I'm not making contacts and marking people for possible recruitment, the opportunity is too good to ignore.  So far I have about half a dozen possibles and two people I will definitely be submitting to Rainbow for consideration.  The first is that Kel Dor you've met, Doctor Veen.  He's a qualified doctor, he's ex-military and he dislikes Imperials.  Sounds like a candidate to me."

He paused before continuing.  "The second is the Bothan."  He held his arms up to hold off any sort of protest.  "Hear me out.  Three points:"

"One she's clearly got talent and guts to pickpocket someone wielding a weapon who knows how to use it.  She also did it in a room full of people, including yourself and nobody noticed."

"Two, the fact that Kimi is no slouch with a weapon tells me this Bothan can handle pressure and likely can take care of herself.  You don't torment the rancor unless you have an escape plan."

"Finally and most important to me, she apparently stole the credstick because she thought Kimi was an Imperial.  She plans to make a 'donation' to a refugee group on Kimi's behalf.  So she hates Imperials and works hard to rehabilitate those who have suffered under Imperial rule.  Sounds like what you guys do.  She had no reason to lie, hell she had no reason to tell me what she did so I believe her.  I'm good at telling when people are lying to me, I felt no deception from her."

"Now I have an address where she is likely to be, or at least to visit.  However I wont share it until Kimi and anyone who goes with her swears to my face they will not succumb to violence unless all other avenues have been explored."

Making sure her room is secured as well as possible, she goes off in search of Janine and Vyn, keeping an eye out for the Bothan as well.

(Assuming she finds them,) Kimy steps closer.  She's obviously seething, but her anger is well controlled at the moment.  "Okay Vyn, spill it.  What do you know about the Bothan?"

Heigren was finally beginning to lose his composure.  His voice became a lot harder.  "No Janine, YOU don't get it.  You've explained multiple times what you point of view is.  Just because I don't agree with you on all points doesn't mean I don't understand your point of view.  As for paying for any cleanup, that's my problem not yours.  As for yesterday, that was a GIFT for a friend.  The fact you've ended the friendship does not change the spirit in which the gift was given.  You should also realise I never knew the Bothan had stolen anything until all the pieces of the puzzle came together.  I'm sick of your baseless accusations and threats.  I'm sick of being accused of not being trustworthy when you have none in me.  I'm done talking to you until you can be civlised."

Heigren turned his back on Sheila and when he saw Mika coming, he pointed to the recharge room where it was quieter.  He led her in there.  If Sheila follows her he ignores her.

"Let's get some things straight Kimi.  I didn't know you'd been robbed, I didn't help someone escape.  I truly regret any losses and hardship my party has caused.  Janine clearly doesn't trust me but I speak plainly to you like I did to her.  I'm assuming you know for sure it's this Bothan who robbed you.  She said something about a 'donation from an Imperial' to a guest so I guess it must be her."

"However I say to you what I said to your friend Janine.  Before I give you the address I have I want your solemn promise you will try talking to this woman, that you will explore all diplomatic options before you resort to violence.  Maybe this Bothan is a thief, maybe she isn't.  Whatever else she is, she is helping innocent victims of Imperial torture and slavery and I respect that.  Promise me you will give her a chance and I will give you the address.  That's all I asked from Janine, it's all I ask from you.  And yes, I think if my gut feelings are right, this Bothan might even have the makings of one of the Team."

Heigren wasn't happy with the answer but it was likely the best he was going to get.  He began hunting through his datapad.

"One other suggestion if I may?  Take a non-human with you.  From what I can gather this Bothan thought you were an Imperial.  Taking Rathon or Janine would only enhance that belief.  Taking a non-human with you should help show you are anything but.  Forim would be a good idea, she was hear with a Duros.  Else there's a Kel Dor here, a Doctor Veen.  Janine seems to know him and he seemed sympathetic to the Duros's cause."

He paused.  "If neither will go with you. . .I will come."

It took a lot for him to make the final offer.  This party meant everything to him.  But he believed in this Bothan for a reason he didn't comprehend.  Maybe it was because she was doing what he'd done for years; defended and cared for victims of Imperial atrocity.

He forwarded the address of the alien refuge to Mika's datapad.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Dohr felt a bit lost. Mr. Teckla and his associates were running this way and that. The two women seemed to be very pissed off at the host of the party. First the medic was telling the poor Zeltron a thing or two, again. To anyone passing by or not observing the duo closely it would have seemed like a couple was having a row. But Dohr had a box seat. He knew the touching and grabbing was just probably just for show, but it was plausible. It was good. No. Vyn was good. Ms. Carstairs seemed genuinely indignant.

Then K was suddenly there too, boiling under her skin, cheeks red with anger. The doctor would've loved to see how Vyn handled the situation, but apparently he was starting to lose his composure too and decided to take the next argument into a room and away from prying eyes. Dohr couldn't help but to wonder about the whole group. Was this what they did every day? He decided it wasn't. He'd seen the same happen many times before. The fact that one member of the group worried more about her companions than another was not a problem. It was life. And life was not always easy. Carefree and organized people tended to clash at times despite their best intentions.

Next to arrive was the Duros. He joined the others in the room. Dohr was probably the only one who paid any attention to the group. Anyone else at the party might have thought the four were into such a thing - a foursome in a dark, cramped space. The Kel Dor would've chuckled had it been something his kind did. But since it wasn't, he merely smiled at the thought instead. Wondering what to do and where Jit was and were the gangers at each other's throats and should he get another drink, Dohr was still standing in the same place when the Duros and K came out and headed for the turbolifts. Whatever was going on, at least the girl's mood seemed to have improved. That was good.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Heigren quickly regained his composure when the Talons went their various ways.  He saw Dohr watching from the side and wandered over.

"Women." was all he offered as an explanation.

He pulled over a waiter.  "That lady who just walked off.  Post someone near her room.  No party guest is to go near her door.  Deliver a tray of mixed food and drinks then ensure she's left alone."

Heigren did not respond to Arin's comm call as he did not receive it.  He returned to his party business and talking to the Kel Dor.

OOC:  Heigren does not have his Talon comm on him Arin.  He's using a different commlink tonight.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

...Meanwhile in the functional room, Jit had found an ideal duo for his discreditable intentions: two sexy blue-skinned female Twi'leks showing their best moves at the dance floor. From time to time the girls danced very closely next to each other and exchange kisses the way as if the two had been a couple. The fixer was quite good at estimating people's feelings and motives though, and Jit was quite sure that the young women were just good friends performing some sort of 'best friends evah' -girls' stuff.

The Twi'lek women had gained many of the male guests' attention already, and some of them had gathered around the duo to enjoy the views. However, none of them had dared to approach the girls so far as the two seemed to have so much fun on their own. But that wasn't the case of Jitt'quin S'hak. This partygoer was impudent enough to seize the opportunity to pick up at least one of the girls in a middle of their male fans. While the reward was something worth having, it wouldn't hurt his inner feelings should the broker's advance be repelled - (since such incident certainly wouldn't happen for the first one for him).

Best of all, Jit had a secret weapon compared with his rivals. Thanks to the very loud music, it was almost impossible to communicate with other people - verbally. No problem at all for Twi'leks who could turn to 'speak' their silent Lekku language by using head-tails.

True, the blue-skinned Ruthian beauties might be quite cold towards a green-skinned Tukian Twi'lek. Luckily this meeting didn't occur in Ryloth, meaning that the clan system shouldn't be as strict when outside the Twi'leks' homeworld.

Smiling, Jit walked next to the girls with full of confidence and started to dance. [Language unknown: Ineaveive assa... Neomni, Int Teeras ec ceofri seiltr li mebeck! No p we usch Yinhasurethires ameillousugh!]

Location: Function Room

Devon's friend soon breaks away from the extended kisses and looks around briefly before nodding to the doorway leading to the western corridor, giving Devon a 'Shall we get outta here?' look.

Jit, meanwhile, finds his opening line has caught the girls' attention.  They keep their arms around each other's waist but turn to him, glancing at one another for a silent opinion before nodding to him.  One of them moves her lekku in a distinctive manner.

Location: Mika's Room

Mika's room, lacking Mika or unexpected 'guests', remains locked.

Location: Sheila's Room

Sheila, having had enough of arguing, locks herself away for the moment.  The minibar is stocked with enough alcohol to get her well and truly drunk, while the music from the function room is audible, if muffled, giving her a private space to break out the dancing shoes in her soon-to-be-sodden state.

Location: North Hallway

The gangers, having growled at each other a bit, go their separate ways.  A fight seems to have been avoided but there's no doubt that neither gang member looks happy.  Even if the danger seems over for the moment these gangs could certainly bear watching.  Chances are good that Heigren would appreciate a few eyes around the place.

Location: South Hallway

The waiter nods to Heigren and hurries off.

Despite the fact, the gangers stood down slowly, Arin tried to reach Heigren again and again. If Flash knew, the Zeltron didn't have his comlink with him, he had not told about it to Arin and the ex-Imperial kept trying. He had decided to show, he was taking the whole business rather seriously despite the offers of sex from the alien girl and her companions. Maybe, if Flash would see him do his duty here, the situation between him and the Duro would tone down from volatile to at least easily flammable.

He watched the party with curiousness - he had been to a number of parties like this and if anything, he had to hand it to Heigren, he knew how to throw one. Of course the Zeltron could have asked them about it beforehand, or at least informed them, there was going to be one. But Arin wasn't really complaining, not exactly. Had he not been required to watch out for any potential situation about to get out of hand, he would have dived right in and had some fun. Part of him wanted to, the wild racer within, but the professional naval officer told otherwise and the youthful swoop-rider gave in under the authority.

"We can't 'run security' Janine, we have no authority.  All we can do is watch and intervene if necessary."

It was a change from his attitude while at the party, but the ride over had cooled his head.  Flying was when he thought best.  He realised he'd treated the party like a mission.  But this wasn't an Imperial stronghold or a slaver camp or an ememy TIE squadron, it was just a wild party.

"I can't think of anything at the hotel that could compromise us, even in our rooms.  Short of an invasion, hostage situation or the like, I'm not sure what exactly we can do, even in a security situation other then let hotel security handle it.  We're guests remember?  Janine reminded us all that we're glorified garbagemen on vacation.  Garbagemen don't walk around armed, speaking into military grade commlinks, acting as security at their own party.  Anything you do needs to keep within our cover."

'Unless all hell breaks loose' he thought to himself.

"Rathon, you linked up with Vyn yet?  He should keep us apprised of trouble."

When time allowed Flash would ask Mika to send Sheila the address they were heading to.

Devon nods cheerful agreement, takes the ladys hand and leads her out the eastern door - instead of the one she had indicated.  By the time a puzzled look had begun assembling itself on her face, Devon was already unlocking the door to his room and giving her a conspiratorial wink.

With them both inside and the door locked again, the noise of the party is muted from riot-in-progress to just plain loud and Devon ears un-cringed.
"One of the perks of being a guest here is we can get some privacy - so far folk have respected locked doors." he explains easily as he shrugged his jacket off and tossed it in a corner.  "And now that we can hear each other: Hi, I'm Rian - I never did get your name..."

Dohr nodded to Vyn. A little walk around the place with the host didn't sound bad at all. Actually Mr. Teckla showing him around gave the Kel Dor a good excuse to find out how Jit was doing, whether the gangers were behaving and to get another drink, in addition to helping him pass the time. A noisy party with drunken people and random sex wasn't really the doctor's thing, although he could appreciate live music even when the band wasn't playing the kind he preferred. "Yes why not. That would be good. And I would not worry about Jit. I am quite positive he can separate business from pleasure."

Dohr let a giggling human girl pass and then caught up with Vyn. "As for your offer… I do not think you handling over my contact details to your superior would really hurt anyone, Jitt'quin 'Shack included." While walking he fished out his datapad, checked for the location of the closest flimsiplast printer and found one in the so called "function room". Dohr dragged his ID picture from the top left corner of the pad's screen to the printer icon and then followed or more like pushed himself into the larger space between two couples engaged in swapping spit in the doorway. He pulled off a piece of fresh plast from the small device on the wall and handed it over to Vyn. "Here you go."

The Kel Dor leaned closer to the Zeltron and raised his voice enough for the host to hear. "I am sure you are well aware of the gangers in the party? There could of course be more of then in here, but the ones I have noticed are wearing outfits of two different gangs. The one in red and black is a member of the South-Sky Screamers. They are an old biker group and fairly powerful too. Whereas the other one is a Blue Blade. They are a smaller band of rogues that somehow have managed to survive. I would not consider either very aggressive or violent and fortunately they are not usually at each other's throats. However this is not the first time I have seen a member of both gangs in the one place today. And the last time they were quite agitated. While it does not necessarily mean anything, it is strange to see the two gangs mix when they usually do not. So I am sure it would be a good idea for the security to keep an eye on both all the time."

The Zeltron stopped regularly to talk to guest and staff alike, ensuring everyone was enjoying themselves.  Whilst the noise in the function room was quite loud, Heigren didn't seem in the least bit bothered.  When Dohr mentioned the gangers he shrugged.

"I have heard a little about the various gangs but I doubt I know anywhere near the amount you do."  "I did understand though that there has been no major feuds between the various groups for some time.  Security will deal with any problems I'm sure."

"Isn't that your friend over there?"
Heigren pointed across the function room to where Jit was enjoying himself with a pair of blue-skinned Twi'lek girls.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

The girls' response wasn't exactly what Jit would have hoped for. These two actually wanted him to prove them that the fixer was attractive enough to have their attention! It shouldn't have been a surprise though as there were male persons around them already to enjoy their intimate, sexy dance - these girls could pick up anyone they wanted if they were on such mood. And even though you might call Jit some sort of a party animal, he wasn't especially good at dancing.

Such challenges didn't upset the scoundrel though. Unbuttoning his cloak and leather jacket, he threw them on the dance floor and unfastened the buttons of his shirt too. Then the green-skinned Twi'lek poured the whole content of his glass on his forehead and shook his head rapidly from side to side, making the liqueur fly here and there (although he did his best not to wet the girls yet).

[Language unknown: Illecteen isniio nc ousourainoul terna illoutnceles outlarent hi Utsssiul! K ncare! Ndeticson any u ameeveund whurol linhisdin!]

After that he grabbed one of the girls to his left side and gently put his arm and lekku around her, doing the same thing to the other girl to his right side.

It was time for some Twi'lekian gangdance.

"I'll try to find him. I'll check on you later, Janine", Arin replied. Elevators, that was he was supposed to go now. At least the swoop gangers had toned their differences down a bit. But the Zeltron needed to be found and situation with the security to be cleared up. If the security provided by Heigren was enough, then Arin might lay back and enjoy the ride, at least for a while. He wondered a bit whether there was anyone around who would recognize him from the race earlier - if nothing else, that'd be an easy way to find temporary company for the rest of the party.

Arin waded through the crowd, back towards the elevators, constantly keeping an eye out for the Zeltron. He wasn't going to snap Heigren's neck, but there was going to be a bit of a discussion about how to do things, even if the party was a good one.

Location: Sheila's Room

Nothing much happens in here, though Sheila can easily see what's happening outside thanks to her video feed.  It gives her something to watch, at least.  She spots a couple of guys in business-wear get in each others' faces in the function room but even in that crowded space a huge Weequay in help-staff attire has pushed between them and kept them apart, stopped them from trading blows.  Apparently Heigren can anticipate party-trouble.

And then there's some Twi'lek guy who's dancing with some chicks on the other side of the function room...

Location: Function Room

Jit gets a few laughs from his drink-dumping antics but when he shakes his head the flying droplets of drink catch an unfortunate victim - one of the girls suddenly clutches her face, splashes of alcohol hitting her eye.  She pushes away as Jit grabs for her.  Laughter redoubles, though nobody can really hear it, as the woman's friend goes to her aid, leaving Jit womanless and standing kind of awkwardly.

Location: Devon's Room

Devon's having a bit more luck than Jit.  Well, okay.  A lot more luck.

The Falleen woman giggles at Devon's words and runs a hand over his cheek affectionately.  Then she undoes a snap on her dress and the whole thing slithers down to pool sensually at her feet.  She's not wearing a stitch underneath and she steps out of the fabric gracefully, kicking her shoes off as well before pulling Devon toward and against her toned, curved body for a particularly heated kiss...

OOC: ...and the scene goes dark because this isn't an Adult-rated game.  Alas.

Location: South Hallway

Arin makes his way to the turbolifts with no great effort.  Those Iktotchi women seem to have vanished for the moment.  As he reaches the turbolifts both of them open and three people - a Human and two Devaronians - step out.  They're dressed in wait-staff attire but have the word 'SECURITY' printed on the backs of their shirts.  Heigren is no longer there, just two staff members acting as greeters.

Dohr looked in the direction Vyn was pointing and nodded: "Yes. That is Jit indeed." The Kel Dor caught himself just in time before saying anything more. He almost told the Zeltron things Vyn didn't need to know about the relationship between him and Jit. Not yet at least. Silently he wondered whether it had been the pheromones typical to the host's species or just his trustable personality. Dohr certainly didn't feel like the other man was trying to fish anything out of him. No. Mr. Teckla seemed like an honest sort of a fellow.

WIth slight amusement Dohr observed Jit's performance. He couldn't understand a thing about the "lekku-speech" going on between the fixer and the two Twi'lek girls, but Jit's intentions were not difficult to figure out. Even without his background and extensive interaction with members of numerous different species, it would've been clear to anyone that Jit was only trying to get into the pants of either one of the pretty ladies. Unfortunately for the broker, not everything was going according to his plans. "Seems to me my friend isn 't doing too well..."

Obviously Vyn had noticed the same thing and was already walking towards Jit while calmly giving instructions to one of his staff on his comlink. Not sure if he should, Dohr decided to follow the host of the party.

Heigren couldn't help but notice the little nuances is Dohr's mannerisms and speech, especially his focus on the two being friends.  There was something the Kel Dor wasn't saying about Jit.  What could it be?  He already knew that Jit was trying to get Dohr a contract, perhaps even with the Talons so it couldn't be that.  What then?

Then the epiphany hit him like a tidal wave.  What fool he was.  Jit and Dohr were lovers!  Ah that must be it, all the pieces fit.  No wonder Jit was putting on such a overt but inherently poor show of seduction, it was a facade.  The pair hadn't 'come out of the smuggling compartment' as it were.  He was unsure why some people could not just be happy with their sexuality, though he knew the wider community could be hideously biased, especially Imperials.

His mind shifted gears quickly.  He would help this happy couple.  They should be able to express their love for each other freely.  If they weren't comfortable doing it in public, he would arrange for their privacy.  "Perhaps you should get cleaned up.  I'll have my staff find a private room for you.  Doctor perhaps you can help your friend get cleaned up.  I'll make sure people stay out."

Private room? Help clean up? Dohr could see how Vyn might have come to the conclusion, he thought the Zeltron had. The misunderstanding, if there was one, did not make him feel uncomfortable at all. Love between two members of the same sex was not unheard of back on Dorin and he'd naturally come across such things during his travels numerous times before. But even though Dohr hadn't had a serious relationship with anyone in a dozen years, he wasn't looking for one now. And even if he accepted same-sex marriages and love as a norm, he himself preferred women over men.

"Ah.. I am afraid you may have misunderstood the nature of our relationship somewhat, Mr. Teckla. Jit and I, though on a friendly level, are merely associates, not really... hmm. close friends. Therefore I am sure Jit would prefer someone else to help him smarten up. I thank you for the offer nevertheless. I would, however, fancy another drink right now. And perhaps a breath of air too? Would there be a balcony in one of the rooms at this height or access to a rooftop terrace perhaps?

The Kel Dor naturally requires anything but fresh Akarian air as it would be poisonous for him to breath it. But the constant loud noise and crowd are getting to him more and more by the minute. The doctor does prefer quieter and more refined music in a more peaceful establishment over the bustle of a party.

For the start Jit was disappointed what it came to his intention to arouse the girls' interest towards him. Soon the broker came to a conclusion though that these girls were just too serious personalities to his taste. He was looking for exciting, crazy-minded hotties ready to do all kinds of silly vagaries after all - not some boring female dullards (or to be honest, it was his way to explain himself that the girls' rejection was actually a good thing)! Jit was also used to get slaps on his face due to his lascivious suggestions for beautiful women, so no doubt he would lick his wounds rapidly.

The Twi'lek decided to stay cool but polite and continue dancing. Smiling anxiously, he signed at the girls: [Language unknown: Ss weadil Nteameave, rellsa-iomi derstrstr mipool eve utnce as hereauman onmour virthepro! Ss fi, whihisint wi si liel Aleker'mick llnce!] Unfortunately the girl who got hit by splashes of alcohol surely couldn't see what he wanted to sign in Lekku language.

Suddenly, the kind host of the party appeared next to Jit and offered him all the help he needed at the current situation. Good things was that Jit's reliable contact doctor Veen was in the function room too. As the music was very loud especially at the heart of the dance floor, the Twi'lek and the Zeltron joined the Kel Dor's company. Even though everyone was more or less forced to yell in order to express one's saying, there were huge difficulties to hear the words clearly.

While missing most part of the conversation, Jit was quite sure that Mister Teckla offered him a place to clean up. Smiling at their excellent host, Jit yelled loud enough so that his words could be heard by the two: A place to clean up sounds wonderful, Mister Teckla! Rough luck with love probably, but we surely have a great host here! Haha, wonderful party, good Sir!

Then a staff member joined the trio and dished out a washcloth, towel and a new glass of drink for the silly Twi'lek. Smiling and nodding happily, Jit gracefully accepted the offered commodities.

Heigren leads Jit and Dohr to an unused suite on the level and steers them both inside.  Being a suite, the room has full washup facilities and there is also an area for the Kel Dor to stand on a small balcony.

The Zeltron remains outside for now.  Partly because he doesn't buy Dohr's 'friends but not friends' story but partly because he knew someone was looking for him.  Sheila most likely he summised.  Out to tell him how irresponsible he was, or threaten him with violence, or both.  He sighed and steeled himself.

"Double shot of the best whisky we have." he called to a passing wait staff.  He figured he'd need it!

Location: Various Points in the Party

Here and there members of those opposing gangs can be seen watching each other with caution but there are no further acts of aggression.  Clearly neither gang has come here to actively cause problems; very likely the hotel is considered neutral territory which, of course, works in the Talons' favour.  For now.

Heigren soon has his whiskey and Jit has his privacy, along with Dohr.  Devon is... indisposed and Sheila is busy doing her own thing.

Arin doesn't find it difficult to move through the party but he certainly sees distractions.  The man's not ugly by any means and more than one cute partygoer - most female, some male - give him a good eyeing as he passes.  The wait staff, too are attentive; by the time he finds Heigren he's been offered three drinks and a small plate of canapés.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

The content fixer wiped most of the liquor to his towel and followed Mister Teckla's lead to the suite. While walking behind the Zeltron, Jit couldn't help but whisper few enthusiastic sentences at Dohr's ear: This dude is awesome, doctor Veen! There must be tens of important guests waiting for a chance to have a chat or two with our host, and what does this Zeltron do? Spends his valuable time with two Mister Nobodies! Don't have even the slightest idea why he's doing all this for us, but I love it!

So excited he was that Jit's words might have been heard by their host. It didn't seem to bother the broker though.

Having entered the suite, Jit pause for a while to enjoy the view. He wasn't used to such luxury, but now that he had the chance he would surely seize the opportunity! He touched and smoothed luxurious materials and hummed happily. Then he found the room's powerful home studio gears and started to play some hit list shit track really loud, but noticing Dohr's sour attitude, he turned the noise down. Ops, no need for cranky faces, doctor Veen. I know exactly what we need at the moment. A drink. You know, some strong alcohol that'll really toss around that controlled, sophisticated mind of yours so that you can finally let it all go! Fantastic music, free drinks and gorgeous chicks all around us! Let's have heck of a party tonight, friend Dohr. Come on, show those exotic girls what's that Kel Dorian 'cane' truly made of!

Rushing to the mini bar, he started to mix two alcoholic drinks... only to notice that a Kel Dor actually couldn't ingest the content. Oh well, we should better call the room service and order you something strong, my friend. Would love to help you, but... since I'm still somewhat sticky wet, need to do something about it. Please help yourself while waiting, partner.

He smiled wildly, grabbed both glasses and headed to the bathroom to have a shower.

Heigren grinned as Dohr and Jit disappeared into the private room.  Despite Dohr's protestations the Zeltron wasn't convinced the relationship between the Kel Dor and Twi'lek was merely a business arrangement.  He called to a waiter.  "Bring this room a selection of drinks suitable for a Twi'lek and Kel Dor and ensure you supply the proper drinking apparatus for the Kel Dor.  Then deliver it and ensure they are left alone."

Seeing Arin coming through the crowd he waved to him.  "Rathon!  Enjoying the party?  I'd say no as you don't look nearly drunk enough, sexed enough or happy enough.  We can deal with all three I think."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

The hotel room Vyn led Jit and Dohr to was really spacious and furnished with very a good taste. There was a feel of luxury in the suite, but it was not overdone. Noticing the smallish balcony, the doctor did appreciate the Zeltron's gesture although in all honesty he would've preferred to be completely alone. He didn't mind the fixer's company, but having spent most of the day with him, Dohr felt like he needed some privacy. It was less than a day since he'd left his clinic behind and already missed the place or at least his personal chamber in the back of the place.

Nevertheless, the Kel Dor gave Vyn a bow and thanked their host for his kindness. As the Zeltron left, Dohr nodded to Jit. "Yes, Mr. Teckla seems to be 'awesome' indeed." He was about to say some more, when the suite was suddenly filled with very loud noise from the entertainment system. Clearly the Twi'lek had found a controller for the device and was trying it out. Jit's own reaction took Dohr by surprise. The man obviously took his feelings into consideration as he turned the volume down immediately. As for him having a sour face… well Jit did know him fairly well and Dohr on the other hand knew the other to be very good in reading people. So maybe he had really reacted to the music showing his irritation on the outside as well...

Watching Jit get a drink, Dohr shook his head and declined the offer to make him one too. "Jit. I need to talk about something with you now that were in a relatively private place. I am sure you would like to get cleaned up as soon as possible, but if you could spare me a moment before you do?" The doctor didn't really give the fixer a chance to object and continued without waiting for Jit's answer: "I had a little chat with our illustrious host and in the midst of it happened to mention my plans to leave Akari behind. To my great surprise he said his group is getting off planet soon and that he might have a job available for me."

Dohr raised his hands to calm Jit down, before the other man had time to comment. "No, no need for you to worry. I let Mr. Teckla know that you were already in the process of getting me hired by another group. But it did strike me quite unlikely that there would be two different groups looking for people at same time. While I am not saying it is impossible, as so many people stop here for some rest and recuperation, I do consider it very unlikely that our host and his friends Ms. Carstairs, Ms. K and the Duros guy are not part of the very same mercenary group you have been talking about. I met the two women and the Duros as well as a human male at the Tracks earlier as I had a look at young K after her crash. Some of them were clearly talking over coms with someone else, so there is at least one more member somewhere. Could be the leader you were talking about."

Dohr walked over to the window and let his eyes wander around the urban sprawl below and around. "Now I do not know for certainty if there is a connection between the mercenaries and Mr. Teckla's group. But if there is, then perhaps y… we can use it to our advantage somehow?"

When Jit entered the bathroom, Dohr opened the balcony door and stepped outside. He closed the glass door behind him, sat down on the floor, closed his eyes and quickly fell into meditation just like his mother had taught him all those years ago.

"Gangers will talk big to each other, that's what gangers do.  This is neutral turf, nobody has thrown a punch and I have security watching it all.  You're meant to be here as my guests, not as bouncers.  Ending up in a jail cell for assault wont please the boss."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Even though Jit eagered to have his shower, he keenly listened what Dohr had to say to him as the shared information appeared to be very interesting. Jit almost paralyzed for a short while after he realized that Mister Teckla might offer a job for doctor Veen. No way! Doctor Veen was his merchandise for Mister Blossomdancer's mercenary group! The broke Twi'lek was even ready to fight with dirty tricks to ensure his cut on Dohr! The sincere Kel Dohr managed to calm Jit down though, as he didn't seem to have any intentions to pass over the fixer and grab the Zeltron's offer. And that was something Jit valued pretty highly.

Thanks for telling me all this, my friend. Might be you overreact here a bit since Det Akari is an intersection in space travelling, and quite a many groups refill their supplies and recruit crew here. We both know that. And if I were you, I wouldn't accept any work task offered by some wild, unknown space adventurers. I'll deliver you to a safe, trusted mercenary group only - trust me, partner! Naturally his last sentence wasn't true at all. By all means Jit appreciated the Kel Doh a lot - he almost meant what he said when he called Dohr 'my friend' -, but in the end he was ready to do almost anything to earn his cut on the medic. Jit needed the money! And this time it was even true since he had made debts on several persons.

The broker paused for a while and continued: However... Given that your conclusion is the correct one, we might benefit something about it. Don't know yet what it actually could be, need to ponder the speculation more thoroughly. Would be really useful to know whether Mister Teckla truly belongs to the same mercenaries who hired me to deliver them hardware and specialists. Care to ask more question what it comes to that Zeltron's group he's part of? Pay special attention in case he mentions a human guy named... Blossomdancer as his boss or team mate. Yeah, you heard it right, doc: Blossomdancer! Somewhat funny name to my taste, haha!

Jit was about to enter the bathroom, but he turned to the Kel Dohr's side one more time. Ouh, and that Duros you mentioned... I'd be pretty interested about him. Will ask more questions about the dude after my shower. Until then you have some time to think it over if the Duros looked like an aggressive and even some sort of a maniac personality or not. But now, if you excuse me partner, I have two drinks to gulp down...

Finally, the good-tempered Twi'lek had the time to start washing himself.

He didn't look angry, even if Heigren was a bit edgy at him. Arin could easily understand why - he had been confronted by nearly every Talon separately on the thing that had happened at the race.

Arin slipped the flimsi in his pocket. "I'll give Forim a heads-up on the fact, you seem to have everything under control and then we'll see about the party. You are quite right on the fact, we all need rest and relaxation, but I think you understand why some of us are still a bit edgy. And Janine, well, I'll talk to her and see if I can talk her down. Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Jit found a luxury bathtub in the bathroom! Shouting with joy, he took more sips on one of his drinks and started to run the bath water. Having taken off his clothes, Jit ensured that he hadn't lost any of his important belongings - he had thrown his cloak and leather jacket on the dance floor after all. Luckily, everything seemed to be at their place.

Playing the latest night club hits from his datapad, the fixer patted his hold-out blaster pistol. He decided to conceal the small blaster on a chair behind the bathtub where he could quickly draw the weapon if need be. There were persons who insisted him to pay the debts for them, so Jit had many good reasons to stay alert and keep himself armed. Finally, he grabbed a sponge & bath brush and dove into the bath.

While washing himself and humming the played night club hit, Jit had some time to analyze the resent happenings. It had been a total jackpot for him to meet Mister Teckla! For some reason the Zeltron had paid special attention for the Twilek and the Kel Dohr. And just a moment ago Dohr told him that their host most likely wanted to recruit the Kel Dorian doctor to their team. It must be the reason for Mister Teckla's most polite behaviour! On the other hand doctor Veen's truthfulness concerning the matter had surprised him. Jit was well aware of the Dohr's reputation as an honest and kind-hearted personality. Because of his own tendency to prefer deception and dishonesty whenever such behaviour would benefit himself though, he couldn't actually fully understand why some people were telling the truth when it would hurt their interests. Jit himself would have accepted the Zeltron's offer and kept his mount shut should he had been on Dohr's position.

The fixer sneered and shrugged. He knew very well he was of leech when it comes to morality.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Dohr Veen sat still on the balcony of the suite with his eyes closed and breathed slowly and deep. He let the sounds of the Det Akarian atmosphere flow in. Naturally the air, though fairly clean at the height of the hotel floor, smelled pretty much the same as it did anywhere else through his breathing apparatus. And even though there weren't any air speeder lanes very close to the hotel, there was a constant hum of traffic in the air. But it didn't bother the Kel Dorian doctor, he was already a long time ago on a planet far, far away inside his mind.

It had been a while since Dohr had last allowed himself to think back on his life on the homeworld. Remembering mother and father was rather painful to him as he no longer could bring up their real faces, only something he thought they had looked like. As his thoughts drifted from the meditation pavilion at the pond to the family palace, the whole place was as it he had last seen it - empty. There was no one to be found anywhere. The whole estate was completely deserted. And as always the trip down the memory lane ended at the same spot. He had dug the grave himself on the day he had found General Glo Veen and his wife Shara dead. It seemed to be the one thing of his previous life he still could return to in meditation.

But although the daydream wasn't very pleasant as it nearly never was, it still helped Dohr calm down. As he opened his goggled eyes, the heir of the Veen family felt relaxed and full of energy. He knew he hadn't and never would really master the art of meditation though. Not like his parents.

The mediation break had been a good, quick way to calm Dohr's mind for a moment. But now that he was back inside the suite, the bounding noise from the function room invaded his senses again. Sighing the doctor rolled his shoulders a few times to increase blood circulation, grabbed the knob of his cane and started making his way to the door. He could hear the shower was no longer running though, so Dohr paused and called to Jit: "We can talk about the Duros later, if you would like to. Though I fear there is not much to tell. Oh and I just realized I have not eaten all day, so I will go and see if some suitable nourishment is available for my kind as well."

Not waiting for a response, the Kel Dor left the room making sure the door locked behind him. He had a look around for Mr. Teckla. But as the host was not in sight, Dohr decided his best chance to get some food was in the main area of the party. He sidestepped to let another laughing couple pass and then headed for the function room.

Dohr nodded to Vyn and limped over. Reaching the host, the Kel Dor scanned the room and the people slowly and nodded to the host of the party again. "Quite a success these festivities of yours. My compliments on your success."

The doctor shifted his weight from his bad leg to the good one and had another look around. "I was wondering if I could request one of your staff to arrange me a little something to eat? Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

At first Jit was quite puzzled because of Dohr's act to leave the suite without even waiting for his response. In the end the Twi'lek was interested to know whether the Kel Dorian doctor recognized the mentioned Duros or not. Soon he realized that the situation was actually quite intriguing at his point of view though. He was left alone in a luxury set of rooms where one could find all kinds of fascinating things! Assumingly the cleaners of the hotel had checked places quite carefully already, but who knows if there was still something worth grabbing. Besides, it was a suite after all, so there should be luxury items 'on the house' that might arouse his interest.

The question concerning the Duros could wait.

(OOC: Jit will spend something like five minutes to quickly search the suite. He's keen on valuable items, free booze and elegant, costly male clothes. After that he'll dress up, grab a bottle of expensive spirit and head to room eleven. This all will happen if no one interrupts his doings inside the suite.)

The suite would contain the usual items - fully stocked minibar, complementary towels, robes and slippers, shampoo bottles, etc.  Hotels don't normally supply clothes.  You can get free booze from the minibar, however the party is open bar so you can get all the free booze you want in the main area too!  There's nothing really of great value that is small enough to pocket.  Maybe the odd chrono (clock) and some basic silverware, etc.

Nobody comes in while you're searching the room.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Broad smile appeared on Jit's face as he saw his contact and their host. He gave a brief, friendly nod at Dohr and formally shook hand with the human male, but Jit's attention was fully on the Zeltron. Mister Teckla it is - always looking after his guests' well-being! Best host ever! And the party has hardly started! Let's have heck of a fun tonight! Devoting this swallow to honour your most gracious hospitality, Mister Teckla! The broker took a proper sip from his bottle... actually a bit too proper since he was forced to cough after the swallow. Then he passed the bottle on the host of the party.

Very kind of you Sir, but no need for a glass. Easier to carry a bottle in a crowded party... You see, the liquor might be spilled from a glass, so many people around here. Someone might even get wet due to accidental bumping, haha! Letting out a minor laugh, Jit smiled and winked at the Zeltron. Uuuh, mind if ask you one more minor favour, good Sir? Everyone could notice that the Twi'lek didn't wore a shirt under his open robe and leather jacket, and now he started to highlight the view by revealing his hairless chest even more. If there happen to be a dry, nice gentlemen's shirt at my side around, would really appreciate it! Size 42, slender design, please. Not that big deal though, can easily have huge fun without a shirt too!

Finally the partygoer turned his attention to the human male. Getting a better look at him, he stated coaxingly: Well well well... A new champion of Det Akari what it comes to swoop racing, eh? Don't know much about swoops as preferring space transports and hot chicks myself when in need of a good ride, but JR-4 sounds ancient to me! Well done dude, excellent job there! One more reason to do utterly crazy things tonight! After that Jit 'gave Rathon a five', assuming that the human responded his clap. Tell me man, was it at the Claws District where you managed to won the race? Never gamble myself, but familiar with few professional and reliable bookies there and happen to know the area quite well. Haven't heard any JR-4 winners lately... Agreed, you surely must be a newcomer around.

The fixer keenly observed the human's response.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Doctor Veen bowed politely to Arin. The human had clearly been trained in the art of speech at some point in his life. It was obvious he wasn't a regular speeder jockey like most locals on Akari. He was too well behaved for that. Vyn saved Dohr from the trouble of sizing Rathon up. A pilot, eh? That explained the good reflexes needed to handle a speeder bike well enough to win a race.

Of course Dohr didn't really know whether the human's job was piloting a heavy transport or a fighter, but with his bike skills, it was probably the latter. It didn't really matter anyway. Dohr wasn't a nosey person by nature even if he liked observing people. Would he need to know more about Mr. Teckla's friends, we would no doubt learn about them later.

"It is a real pleasure to meet you Mr. Dann. And, if you do not mind me saying, a welcome change to notice there is a more composed side to your team as well." It might be hard for someone who isn't familiar with Dohr Veen's personality to know whether he is joking or not, but the Kel Dor is dead serious behind his mask. He does not tend ridicule anyone. To the doctor fighting inside a group of professionals is not a good sign of a healthy team. He does however consider small scale clashes quite natural when members of different species are working closely together, especially when such people are not intimately aware of each other's personality traits and twists.

"And please, no need to thank me for doing my job. But I do have to agree, young Kimy was very, very lucky to get off so lightly from the crash. I have seen so many end up in a lot worse state or even dead in the very same corner. I have no wish to belittle her piloting skills, but I am sure you noticed yourself, the track is not an easy one. Crashes are quite frequent and unfortunately they are not always due to lack of skill either…"

Before the conversation got any further, their host noticed Jit coming out of the suite and beckoned him over. Dohr waited until the Twi'lek reached them and held his words back as the Zeltron beat him to introducing Rathon. It was then Jit-time again, with the words flooding so fast out of the fixer's mouth that it took all of Dohr's willpower not to shake his head in disbelief. He'd known the man for well over a year now and had had numerous chats with him, but even now Jit managed to surprise him with his nonsense talking abilities - in a positive way.

After the Twi'lek was done, Dohr turned to Rathon and continued: "Mr. Dann, may I present to you my associate Jitt'quin 'Shak." The Kel Dor accepted the drink and a small snack with a nod from the waiter Vyn had sent off earlier. "Oh and please let me congratulate you on your victory too. No small feat for an outsider and especially a first timer on the track. You must be one of the best pilots we have had the pleasure to have racing on the Tracks."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

"I must point out that while the JR-4 is indeed older than the mostly custom-built bikes one often sees at the races, it is not an ancient hunk of metal. And with the tracks like the Claws District's, it is not all about speed but also maneuverability. You go too fast and you'll end up a wet stain on some wall. Swoop racing is, contradictory to what most believe, all about the balance of things."

The human did not seem very cross about the fact, his swoop had been called old, but there was a hint in the manner he spoke about swoop racing, he had indeed been around that particular block a time and again. "But, pleased to make your acquaintance, gentlemen. I won't bore you with technicalities about the race - not everyone enjoys them the way I do." Definitely a man of breeding, of old money and power, much older than the Imperium, even if personally young. And of course he was also a pleasant sight for a human to behold, if one fancied human males.

"As you can no doubt tell, Mister Dann here is a former Imperial.  Fortunately he has seen the error of his ways.  Would be a shame if I'd had to kill him.  Now he helps the people he used to help oppress."

Heigren volunteered the information before Dohr especially started to wonder why an 'anti-Imperial' group had a member who was so visibly Imperial.

Arin gave Heigren a glance that suggested, it might be a good time to shut up - announcing him a former Imperial would easily raise too many questions and blow his cover identity. And his identity blown, it would most likely blow the identity of the rest of the Talons, or at least bring them in to questionable light.

Heigren either missed the meaning of Arin's glare or simply ignored it.  Given the Zeltron's skill at reading people, it was likely the latter possibility.

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Mr. Teckla's announcement did at the same time come as a surprise to Dohr and not. He'd picked up the signs right away when he saw the human. At first glance it had been quite obvious that the speeder king was a soldier by training and heart. Old habits died hard. The doctor knew it very well from personal experience. It had been more than a decade since he had last walked the paved the roads of the Dorinian garrison wearing the orange, silver and blue uniform of the DDF, but he knew he still often acted like the soldier he had been.

It had been no different tonight as he and Jit had stepped out from the hotel elevator. The first thing the doctor had made a mental note of had been the two humans standing nearby. They had both been wearing waiter outfits and carried them like men of the profession would. Both had, although straight-backed, had a fairly relaxed posture and not the kind hired muscle would. It wouldn't have been the first party in which guards had been disguised as waiters, but at the moment there didn't seem to be any need for security to be present. Dohr had naturally looked for CCTV in the hallway and though he hadn't seen any, he knew they would be there at convenient spots around the common areas of the floor. On the quick tour around the floor with Vyn he'd noted the emergency exits and a few dangerous looking individuals in addition to the gangers, Mr. Dann included. The training he'd received was apparently impossible to suppress. Not that Dohr really wanted to. It had saved his life a number of times.

There was an air of confidence to Rathon Dann that spelled Imperial. His mannerisms and demeanor stressed the point. No. Vyn hadn't really revealed a secret to Dohr. Though the look on Rathon's face said he felt Mr. Teckla had. And it was no wonder. Det Akari wasn't really known for its friendliness towards the Empire and Mr. Teckla had said as much himself. There wouldn't be too many people happy to see an imperial - retired or not - present at the party. It had been a bold move by the Zeltron. Dohr felt Vyn was trying to buy his confidence or trust by giving out such sensitive information to an alien who was virtually a total stranger. A bold move indeed. Then again as a Kel Dorian, doctor Dohr Veen didn't really fit the mold of an imperial by any measure.

Dohr bowed again to both men. "Fear not, Mr. Dann. Your secret is safe with me. And I hope you are not offended, when I say am glad to hear you have left your old life behind. I do not have to kill you now." It's difficult to say when a Kel Dor is serious or when one is pulling your leg, but what Dohr just said he said with a straight face. And would Rathon have known him better, he would've known Dohr Veen does not lie. Was there a threat hidden in the sentence or not? Who knows.

Heigren laughed.  "Personally I wouldn't make the fact Rathon is a FORMER Imperial a secret Doc, quite the opposite.  There are many people here who would happily knife a suspected Imperial in the kidneys and leave him to bleed.  Letting people know Rathon left the Empire, shows his smart and brave enough to avoid the easy choice."

"Of course I would prefer the matter not being broadcasted to every oncoming stranger, no offense intended. One can say, my former employer does not take it too kindly, I decided to leave their service nor the conditions for that. We might get in to what that exactly means, later, should you join our group." The human, having possibly faced somewhat veiled threats, seemed to go in to Military Officer -mode.

"I'm not taking out ads in the holonews if that's what you're worried about.  I'm only telling Dohr here as I'm sure one military man can recognise another.  You two should be able to trade lots of old war stories.  See if you guys get along and all that."

He spoke in his comm then turned to Jit.  "I've asked my staff to see if they can find you something.  In the meantime, tell me your pleasure."

Re: Act 5.4.1 - A Hotel Floor Where Something is Happening

Jit rubbed his chin with a thoughtful expression on his faces while he listened the conversation. The Zeltron and the Human belonged to a multinational group from the outside world, and they seemed to be keen on recruiting more specialists to their crew. They were clearly newcomers in Det Akari as well. Too many coincidences here... The Kel Dorian doctor seemed to be right what it came to his doubts. There was a very high probability that Jit and Dohr were dealing with the same off-worlders who hired him to deliver hardware, ships, ground vehicles and professionals for them!

Besides, what was all this talk about an ex-imperial at this present company? Even though Jit didn't have a habit of expressing his anti-imperialistic opinions publicly, he had many reasons to hate the so called New Galactic Order. Wherever there were imperials around, Jit had to be extra careful. As long as no one knew he was chased by the Imperium, the Twi'lek was most likely safe.

Anyway, Jit was sure about one thing: he wanted to know more about this group from the off-world. The more he knew about them, the better chances he had to use this knowledge to his advantage.

"Riches to arrange this fabulous party? Skills to win a swoop race on one of the most challenging tracks in the universe? And the biggest surprise to amaze them all: a tamed, compassioned ex-imperial as one of your trusted fellow worker? He winked at the Human male. Hehe, what are we missing here? A shaved Wookie? Or maybe a maniacal Duros? Gee exciting stuff, I love it! Wonder if you'd have a spot for me too, guys? Haha, I'm a Twi'lek of many skill! Information gathering, spying, big bombs, space transports... you name it, dudes! Please can I join you too? Would be so cool to finally kick those imperials' ass!

It was all an utter lie. Jit didn't have any intention to join the off-worlders, but he wanted to get to know these two better and gradually gather more information about the group's goals and acts.

(OOC: I believe Dohr, Rathon and Vyn can roll Sense Motives check to notice that Jit is not honest with his intention to join the Talons... Oops and I rolled natural One btw!)

"I'll make a note of your name." Heigren said honestly and he preceded to do just that.  He didn't know why the Twi'lek was lying but it concerned him, concerned him a lot.  An information broker who claimed he wanted to join a group when he didn't screamed of Imperial Intelligence, or perhaps a freelance spy.  The latter seemed more likely but he couldn't rule anything out.

"If you're still interested in visiting room eleven I'm sure you wont be disappointed.  I'll have a shirt left on one of the hooks for you if you like.  You won't need a shirt in there."  He didn't add he wouldn't need any of his clothes in there, if the Twi'lek wanted to enter, he knew what the room was for.

The party wends its way on as parties tend to do and it's difficult to say when people start filtering out.  It's well into the wee hours of the morning, though.
