Re: Act 5.5.6: Det Akari Spaceport
The assault commander had ignored his question completely. Apparently he had made up his mind about not using snipers in providing cover and did not wish to discuss it further. That was a leader's prerogative of course, but in Dohr's mind still somewhat foolish. The wisdom of his suggestion had been questioned by the Bothan as well, but the doctor decided to let that comment be. In his mind she was wrong as the distances were so short it would not have taken a long time for a sniper or two to get in place. Whatever the case, they would be heading headlong into the fight without cover now. As in their hurry to get into action, the other suggestion by Dohr had been overlooked too by everyone else but Fiarr. Using the truck as a decoy or even a sort of battering ram might have given them a slight edge into the coming fight.
""You may have a 'grasp' of groundside tactics but I think we can agree I'm the expert here. So why don't you leave the ground based tactics to me? Likewise I wont tell you how to run fleet engagements. Just because you don't know how to stop a tank with our resources or see a use for your droid doesn't mean I didn't. However, you are right, there is now no time to recall your droid. Leave it where it is."
Dohr sighed. The Cathar seemed to have a problem accepting the possibility that others might be skilled in combat tactics too. True, there was a difference between space battles and ground combat, but basic strategies were the same. The doctor personally had been trained and gained experience in real situations in both. He was not just a medical specialist, but a former commander of Kel Dorian army as well. Tactics were his game. But even if Kyvarr was better than anyone else in groundside tactical planning, himself included, neither Idaya or Dohr would have no real evidence of it other than her own words. That didn't mean that he would doubt her skills, quite on the contrary. The Cathar didn't really seem like a person who made empty boasts. Yet, until she proved herself, it was quite bold to expect others to 'agree' on her expertise on the matter.
This was not the time and place though and he didn't like arguing anyway. Hopefully later on when they all were safely inside the transport, the disagreements could and would be forgotten. But first they needed to get inside the spaceport in one piece and that wasn't something they could take for granted.
Hearing Devon's orders, Dohr headed for the speeder, hopped up and slid in to the backseat. He double-checked the rifle almost unconsciously as he had done hundreds if not thousands of times before. He had his cane in one hand and the weapon in the other. The walking stick would go under his robe and belt on his back as soon as he got out of the speeder again. There was no way he could use it and the rifle at the same time. "Doc ready."
