Re: Act 6.1: Shore Leave (Take 2)
"But of course." Dohr replied to Cor's comment about medical supplies. He would not walk over their chain of command as there apparently was one for certain things. Janine was the group's CMO and naturally had the last say over such things in the Commander's absence. He and the human female got along very well and the Kel Dorian doctor would gladly have another discussion with her. But as Ms. Carstairs seemed to be busy with other things, Dohr thought it would be best to go meet some old 'friends' first.
”Janine if you would not mind, I would gladly see to some other things first. I will be back before well before the nightfall.” He was naturally referring to the Nar Shaddaa night, which according to his chrono, was still quite far away. If all things went smoothly he would be back on the Ghtroc when his internal clock said it was time to sleep. Dohr then made sure Eleven had his comms ID, double checked his hidden weapons and headed out limping into the Vertical City. It had been a while, but despite of the nature of the place, it somehow felt good to be back.
As soon as he got out of the dock and into one of the busier commercial streets, Dohr entered a diner, ordered some food and made a call. ”Rani? Hello. Doctor Veen here. I will be in VC for a day or two and I need some things. Is your shop still standing?… Good. Can we meet in two hours?… Splendid. Now, in the meanwhile I have a list of things you could have a look for in your piles of junk… ok. ok. goods then… I will send it over to your pad right now. See you soon.”
He was in no hurry and finished his meal in peace. A local Rodian street rat had set his eyes on his fancy robe, but as the goggled eyes of the Kel Dorian met his in a long and meaningful stare, the kid decided it wiser to find some other target. Dohr had been to the Sullustan’s workshop/storage a few times before and knew the route well. It would only take him some 30 minutes to reach it, but it was always wise to travel slowly enough to have time to keeps one’s eyes open on Nar Shaddaa and pick some of the safer routes. The pickpockets were the smallest of threats in the place after all. Some others considered it easier to shoot first and rob the corpse afterwards.
Later, Dohr returned to the ship to rest and to talk with Sheila. He found a spot somewhere to set up a workshop for medpac experiment. The doctor did leave the Ghtroc a few times for lengthy periods to do... something.
