Act 7.1: Telos Sector

It had been a long and dull eight days in hyperspace for Devon and Flash.  Apart from constantly cursing the Moonshadow for it's slow hyperdrive, there was nothing to do but accept they were stuck.  Being in hyperspace meant no chance to see if Cor or the others had responded to his message or if they were even on their way.  He could just hope they were and that this wasn't a dead end.

Devon pulled back on the hyperspace controls and they emerged into realspace not far outside the Telos sector.  The place was busy for an Outer Rim planet, though that still meant less than a tenth the traffic at Brentaal.  A navigation beacon advised them of the course to take and channels to switch over for instructions from Imperial Customs.

When they did an artificial voice, the same kind that had spoke at Brentaal said "Firespray FRX24143, please state your cargo and destination"  Clearly Imperial customs used the same droids far and wide.

Re: Act 7.1: Telos Sector

Rubbing sleep from his eyes, Devon yawned and stretched before responding.
"Firespray FRX24143 to traffic control - no cargo and looking to refuel.  Possible layover of a few days - request docking permission at the nearest station, please."

Deven yawned again whilst the traffic control droid fed data into Moonshadows navicomp - directing them to some place called Midway Station.
They were carrying nothing illegal, and the IDs that Zyra had crafted for them should still be good.  Devons big worry was Moonshadow itself - the ship was a heavy fighter in all but name, and that tended to make some people twitchy... especially when the only documentationon the ship had came from Nar Shaddaa!  He'd decided even before they dropped out of hyperspace that they wouldnt be landing on Telos itself - too much chance of awkward questions - instead they were bound for one of the independent stations on the edge of the system.  Some place where no-one would ask too many questions if they kept their noses clean.  Midway fitted the bill nicely.

As Flash flew Moonshadow in towards Midway, Devon began working through the same routine they'd followed at Brental - downloading the local METOSP transmissions and patching into the ship-to-ship chatter to see what he could find out.  He also checked to see if there were any messages from the other Talons waiting for him.

Re: Act 7.1: Telos Sector

As he had no intention to enter their area of jurisdiction, Devon was quickly cleared by Telos customs to go on his way.  Devon steered Moonshadow to Midway Station, a small waystation a few light years away from Telos space.  A quick negotiation with the docking crew and a payment of credits up front and the Moonshadow had a two day berth, fuel flowing into her tanks, foodstuffs to her galley and updated charts being downloaded to her astrogation computer.

Devon and Flash took the time to explore their hanger, finding a refresher station with full shower.  After more than a week in the confined spaces they both enjoyed the comforts of a full hot shower and a change into fresh clothes.  Even the ability to stretch their legs and walk around the hangar was a refreshing change.  Devon's ship was definitely not suited to long-distance travel.

By the time they had freshened up and felt more human (or Duros) the pair found their comms had received a message from Cor.  Not long after they started to read it, they received a signal from Cor, only this time it was from her ship.  It seemed the other Talons had arrived in the Telos sector and needed instructions.

Catch who was still on board Moonshadow quickly sent information to the three ships, organised them adjacent berthing for them, charging it all to Devon's account.

OOC:  So Cor's team can now post here.  You've just arrived at Midway station, just outside the Telos system.  Moonshadow is in an adjacent bay.  You're all close enough together to use Talon comms.

After 8 days in hyperspace, Mark and Zyra have now been missing roughly 2 weeks.

Heigren was out the door of the Wayfarer the moment it was cleared and vanished into the station.  After being stuck eight days on a ship with a girl who cared more about engines than people and a doctor who was way to serious for his tastes, he needed to find some fun.

Fiarr powered down the Ghtroc systems on arrival and quickly prepared the ship for maintenance.  She then set up her datapad to access certain station data streams before slipping the pad in her pocket and heading to the hangar where the Moonshadow was parked.  She'd received no reports they were meeting elsewhere so she decided to find Devon herself.

Re: Act 7.1: Telos Sector

Like Heigren, Kyvarr had a desire to explore the station.  Last space station they had attended she had been in no condition to do anything much besides float in a bacta tank.  However, unlike the Zeltron, she kept her discipline firmly in check and followed Fiarr to find Devon and report in.  There would be time for shore leave later.

If the station permitted it, she wore her modified heavy blaster on her hip but left Nijel securely stored in the armoury on the ship.

Re: Act 7.1: Telos Sector

Devon was easily found - all you had to do was follow Catch.

As soon as Mika lowered the cargo ramp, the R2 unit trundled quickly down it and made a bee-line for the hanger exit.  The droid paused for a moment and chirped at the nearest Talons.

Re: Act 7.1: Telos Sector

Devon was sat on the edge of Moonshadows cargo-ramp, swigging from a bottle and watching as his DUM droids carried a succession of various sized boxes up into the ships cargo bay.

When Catch arrived, Devon patted the R2 on top of its dome-shaped head.
"Good to see you, buddy.  Thanks for sorting the docking clearances.  Do me a favour and make sure the DUMs get this stuff set up properly - I want it in the cargo bay, port side rear corner. Make sure its anchored securely and wont come loose - everything you need should be in the boxes."
The R2 warbled a cheery affirmative and rolled up the ramp into Moonshadows hold.

Devon stood up and stretched, then ambled over to meet Kyvarr and Fiarr.  Behind him, Catch could be heard hooting orders at the DUM droids.
"Welcome to Midway.  I wasn't actually expecting you guys on the ground for a few hours, but it seems that Catch called ahead and paid your docking fees in advance."
Devon gave the pair a faintly embarrassed look.  Clearly he thought that Catchs actions were something he should have thought to do himself.
"If you guys had a flight in anything like mine, you're gonna want to stretch your legs... so unless you dug up something I need to know right now, we'll leave the planning sessions till everyone's had a few hours to unwind."

Devon fiddled with his datapad as he talked, sending the same message to all the other Talons:
Unless anyone has urgent news, we'll meet aboard the Wayfarer in three hours.  Until then, do what ever you want, but stay out of trouble.

Re: Act 7.1: Telos Sector

Mika is a bit surprised.  She barely got the ship docked before the universal rush forne exits commenced.  She hadn't done that bad a job with the flying, certainly not deserving of such abandonment.  Even Devon's droid charged the cargo ramp.  Such thoughts dance in her head while she completes the docking procedures, shutting systems to standby and locking down the board.

"Token, keep your sensors on Catch.".   Getting everything ready, she heads out of the ship and locks it down.  Catching sight of her droid, she follows it until she spots Devon, talking to Fiarr and Kyvarr.  Moving on up, Mika gives Devon a nod.

"Hey boss, Looks like you got here in one piece.  How 'bout your buddy?". She looks about for Flash.

"Over here." comes a voice, Mika knows is Flash.  The Duros then appears from the other side of the Moonshadow.

"Just checking the hangar for any 'unwanted' security." he explained.

"How was your trip?  Nearly two weeks trapped in that sardine tin," he gestures at the Moonshadow, "with a bantha-paced hyperdrive and I'm ready to walk the rest of the way!

Re: Act 7.1: Telos Sector

Fiarr smiled in greeting when Mika showed up.  "I must say it was quite relaxing.  With just two of us aboard the Ghtroc was fairly roomy.  What about your trip?  I can't imagine any ship is large enough with a bored Zeltron on board!"
