From the Wizards website:

Bracers of Brachiation: The slim bracers of brachiation grant the wearer a climb speed of 20 feet in forested areas. The user gains a +8 racial bonus on all Climb checks, and it can always choose to take 10, even if rushed or threatened while climbing. In addition, while using its climb speed to move in forested areas, the creature gains a +2 insight bonus on initiative checks and Reflex saving throws.

Moderate transmutation; CL 7th; Craft Wondrous Item, spider climb, creator must have at least 10 ranks in Climb; Price 18,400 gp; Weight 1 lb.

The Elves invented these Bracers to enable their mobile infantry to move swiftly through the trees of their forests home.

The items were priced as follows:

+8 skill bonus = 6,400 (bonus squared x 100 gp). The skill bonus is limited to forested areas, and that would argue for a reduction, but the bracers also grant a climb speed of 20 feet in forested areas, so we'll leave this price alone.

+2 insight bonus on Reflex saves = 4,000 gp. A save bonus other than a resistance bonus is worth the bonus squared x 2,000 gp, or 8,000 gp according to Table 7-33. This one, however, is limited to Reflex saves made in forested areas, so we'll reduce that by half to 4,000 gp.

The +2 initiative bonus in woods is worth at least as much as the save bonus, 4,000 gp.

This is a multifunction item, so the cheaper functions have a price multiplier of x 1.5.

That makes the market price (and base price) 6,400 gp + 6,000 (4,000 x 1.5) + 6,000 (4,000 x 1.5) = 18,400. The monetary cost to create is 9,200 gp (half the base price); the XP cost to create is 736 XP (1/25th the base cost).

Re: From the Wizards website:

Water Breathing Token: These token are popular in the port cities of the realm. The tokens are must be carried on the person of any creature who wishes to use it and it is automatically activated if the creature is submerged. Many a sialor thrown overboard at sea owe their lives to this trinket.

Moderate transmutation; CL 5th; Craft Wondrous Item, Water Breathing; Price 1500 gp; Weight 6 ounces

The item was priced as follows:

I used the formula for a single use, use-activated item from Table 7-33 in the Dungeon Master's Guide: spell level x caster level x 50 gp.
 - Spell Level: 3
 - Minimum Caster Level 5

I would like to lower the cost of the item. I will explore this further and update the post.

Re: From the Wizards website:

Bracers of the Hunter (from Secrets of Xen'drik, p. 145)

Powerful shamans and clerics of Vulkoor work together to create these scorpion-shell bracers to honor a clan's favored hunters. Although rare even among the drow tribes, a few pairs of these bracers have made their way into the hands of explorers, often through deadly combat with the chosen of Vulkoor.

These black bracers are made from the shell of a monstrous scorpion ritually sacrificed in honor of the drow deity Vulkoor. One side of the bracers is etched with prayers to Vulkoor. The other bears the image of a scorpion poised to strike.

The bracers

 - function automatically while worn;
 - cause the wearer's skin and garb to take on the hues of the background environment, granting a +5 competence bonus on Hide checks;
 - increase the wearer's reflexes, granting a +2 competence bonus on initiative checks;
 - enhance the wearer's precision when making a sneak attack or sudden strike, and such attacks deal an additional 1d6 points of damage. This extra damage is granted only once, even if the wearer is making both a sneak attack and a sudden strike. If the wearer does not have the sudden strike or sneak attack ability, the bracers grant no additional benefit in combat;
 - project an aura of moderate divination and transmutation and have a caster level of 7th;
 - require in their construction Craft Wondrous Item, cat's grace, disguise self, inflict moderate wounds, 4,250 gp, 340 XP, 9 days;
weigh 2 lbs;
 - have a value of 8,500 gp.

Doing the Math: Magic Item Creation:
Soo...let me get this straight. A first level effective level 1 scroll takes as long to create as a wand? Not bloodly likely. So, enjoying math as I do, I hit the calculator. Follow me on this one:
The base "day" unit in D&D is an 8 hour day. A magic item requires a time commitment of one "day" per 1000 gp in the item's base price.
8 hours = 480 minutes
480 minutes / 1000 gp = 28.8 seconds per gp (Rounded Up to 29 Seconds)
Alright, I sez to myself, it takes 28 seconds to do a gold piece's worth of work on a magic item. Let's get basic. The most basic item you can make as a spellcaster is a level 1 spell scribed onto a scroll at spellcaster level 1. This scroll would cost 25 gold pieces. (1 x 1 x 25)
29  seconds * 25 gp = 12 minutes (Rounded Down)
Wait a minute. If it takes one day (8 hours) to do 1000 gp worth, why is it taking 8 hours to scribe a scroll worth only 25 gp, which should only take 12 minutes?

Interesting house rule.

So with Katan I plan to become a Warforged Artificer at lvl 27. Would you want to use the 29 seconds/gp rule in ur game? And yes I am hoping the game sees it thru to epic lvls.
