Re: Destiny- Engine Room 2

Kyoko gets up grimacing as she steps out, drawing her blade and leveling in a cross body position for the tight quarters. "Surrender."

Re: Destiny- Engine Room 2

The man peered around the edge of the engine and caught a glint of Kyoko's blade.  So that's how they were going to play, he thought.  His eyes quickly scanned his surroundings for something to use as a weapon.  His eyes fell on a heavy pipe - he wasn't entirely sure what it was for and it was definitly no sword ... but it would do.  With it in hand he spun around the corner, keeping the huge pipe held in front of him.

"Not a chance." he said and took a swing at Kyoko.  His weapon was clumsier but sturdy and he could weild it with far more force, however his moves were slower.

"Oh please." Kyoko says as she raises and does her best to catch the pipe and step out of it's arch of play, part in movement and the rest in deflection. "Last chance to give up."

Re: Destiny- Engine Room 2

Kyoko successfully blocks the mans swing, side-stepping the blow and causing the two of them to rotate slightly counter-clockwise - sizing each other up.  The man scoffed, he had no doubt in his mind that he would easily over power this woman - she couldn't be more then half his size.  A low laugh escaped his throat, "This should be fun." he said, and lunged again, this time coming from overhead and coming down much quicker, having become a little more familiar with the weight of his chosen weapon.

"Perhaps." She says as she sidesteps the blow and slashes out with a practices move that draws an 'x' with lighting speed.

Re: Destiny- Engine Room 2

Kyoko's attacker spins to the side as she sidesteps his blow and let's out a small grunt as her blade cuts a clean, but shallow cut to his upper right arm, he hardly pauses though as he shoots a leg out as he spins, knocking Kyoko's feet out from under her, causing her to fall to the ground, he immediately follows this up with a over hand swing meant to come down on Kyoko's head.

Kyoko rolled to one side, letting a spur of metal block the blow to her head and swung out with a slash at his knees.

The mans pipe sent sparks flying as it slammed into the ground instead of into his intended target, he growled as he jumped over Kyoko's swing to his knees and darted to the side pulling his pipe up with him, trying to regain his balance.

Kyoko rolls up and backs away, her katanna blurring back and forth as she backs towards the hatch. She had the skill, he had strength and reach. If it came to it, she would have to use her wits, speed and skill.

"Funny.  You thinking money will placate me.  Sorry to break it to ya princess but money don' buy everything." he said, he was swinging before he'd even finished talking, this time the heavy pipe connected with Kyoko's side, almost knocking the wind out of her.

Kyoko grits as she feels the ribs crack, even as she traps her blade in with her free hand, and with the other thrusts it straight in his gut and twists.

"I could have bought you a starship."

The man grunts in pain as Kyoko slams her sword into his stomach and twists, he feels as though his guts are being swirled around.  He doubles over in pain and tries to stumble away from Kyoko to regain his composure.

"The wound might not kill you, but the location might. If the blade cut your liver, you'll be dead in minutes without medical help." Kyoko says as she steps back and opens the door. "I'm a certified medic."

"Yeah..better than him." she says as she brushes her hair out of her face. "Cracked ribs vs a nice gut wound with a twist of the sword that I put in him. You got at the very least perforated intestines."

Re: Destiny- Engine Room 2

The man sputtered some, he couldn't actually form any words though as he began to cough up blood, there was a look of shock on his face ... he hadn't expected to be taken down by the slim woman.  Then the look faded to a small smile, "You ..." a cough racked his body, "You may have killed me .. but .. b- but I ... I won ..." he coughed again and then collapsed onto the ground.  He wasn't breathing anymore ... the man was dead.

"Find Charlene." Kyoko says as she looks over what he did. It was one thing to be a basic tech, this required an engineer.

Re: Destiny- Engine Room 2

Ren nodded and moved to the other engine room, since Charlie was not in room 2. He still was trying to wrap his brain around what had happened, two men were dead and he'd killed on of them.

Re: Destiny- Engine Room 2

Charlie stepped into the second engine room, her wrench still at her side as she slid open the door, looking back over her shoulder where Ren had taken off.  She hoped that they were all gone...the only kind of assault she didn't mind was the one where she didn't have to see any of it, and could simply go about her life as if it didn't happen.  After all, she was just going to fix an engine.  All parts broke eventually...it was nothing out of the ordinary.

At least, it was until Charlie saw the body on the floor.  She closed her eyes, trying to wash the image out of her mind.  There was blood on the floor, and his lifeless eyes stared up into nothingness.  Charlie had only seen a few bodies before (all while on this ship), and each one stayed with her...and now there was another she'd have to lay up at night thinking about, wondering what they did to deserve to die.

"Ah, Kyoko..."  Charlie spoke, her back against the wall, motioning towards the body with the wrench.  "Can ya'...y'know, cover that'r somethin'?"

Kyoko nods, hand still on her ribs as she steps outside the room for a second and picked up her robe pulled it on. Wincing as she pulled it on, she grabbed a tarp and stepped in, hissing to herself as she came back in and covered the man with the tarp.

"Sorry, I tried to get him to surrender, but he wasn't too cooperative."

Re: Destiny- Engine Room 2

"Ah don't...don'tell me, ah'm not wantin' t'know.  S'better not knowin'."  Charlie shook her head, peeking an eye open to make sure he was covered.  She tried to get over it, but he was right there.  She swallowed and stepped to the engine, putting her back to the man right away as she began to look over the components, letting out a slow breath.  The fuel lines were still intact, the electrical outputs were still collected to the navigational manifold...most of it looked intact.

She lowered herself down to look at the bottom of the engine, getting on her knees as she reached under the large machine and felt around.  There was nothing wrong, maybe the jump had happened before they...there it is.  Charlie's fingers touched the cold steel of something that wasn't part of the engine, and she didn't have to get a good look to know what it was.  She let out a sigh, sliding onto her back and getting more under the engine, this new development taking the dead man off her mind.

"Gorram."  She muttered, trying to get her fingers around the edges of the silver box to see how it was attatched.  Were they to start up the engine with it attatched, it would begin to burn the fuel in both directions, causing the engine to seize or the fuel cells to explode.  Either one would render Destiny grounded with several thousand in repairs needed.  "Tell Ren, he's gotta shut th'whole thing down.  Everythin, even life support's gotta go dark...can't be givin' this chance t'be flarin' up an'destroyin' everythin' that's got us goin'..."

Re: Destiny- Engine Room 2

Charlie had rummaged through the tools left in the second engine room, pulling out what she needed along with a large candle.  There were flashlights on the extra shuttle, but all the ones on the ship linked back to the core, and would be rendered useless once everything went dark.  She managed to find the matches, lighting the candle just before the entire ship went dark.

With a mutter under her breath, she stepped carefully around the corpse to the engine, setting the candle on the ground and sliding underneath the engine, letting out a slow sigh as she placed the clips on all of the outgoing fuel and oil lines.  If one thing caused this engine to go live...best-case scenario, the engine seizes and becomes a giant rock.  Worst-case scenario, the entire ship would become much lighter after the fire and the several explosions that would follow suit...

Re: Destiny- Engine Room 2

Charlie looked down at Kyoko, one of her arms elbow-deep into the center of the engine, the other working a screwdriver around the silver box.  This was the other reason the ship had to go black...she'd easily lose an arm trying to do this otherwise.  "Kyoko..."  Charlie looked at her, and then at the tarp.  "Ah'm not gonna need all sorts'f tools, just, y'know...finesse.  It's kinda like a bomb'r sumthin', tha's not gonna be goin' good if things are t'start up."  She looked back up into the engine, squinting slightly as she reached up further, feeling around for the locking pin for the engine filters, for she'd have to take them off to find where they locked in the box.

"Coulja get that...th'body outta here, or go'n get Bear t'do it?"  She spoke through gritted teeth, trying to turn the screw with the tips of her finger.  "I'm...sittin' under a ton'f movin' parts, an'the room smells like blood.  Ah'm...ah can't do it."
