Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

Geoff had been slightly confused when Rhaef had suddenly pulled his gun out and started aiming at the closed door.  But it was pretty evident that the man just had better senses then him cause a moment later someone had begun pounding on the door.  Geoff wasn't really complaining though - in fact, he was grinning as he pulled his guns out, "Now this is my kinda meetin'." he said, stepping closer to Wei-Li in an attempt to block her from the line of fire.  He didn't want it to seem like he didn't think she oculd handle her own, but he'd be real sorry if anything happened to her.  He promised nothing would.

"I gotta plan." he said, "It's called 'shoot 'em till their all dead'."

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

"Why does that not surprise me?" Rhaef commented, his eyes were glued to the door, "They're going to break it down in a moment.  I say we run.  This isn't our fight." he added, glancing slightly at Connor.  He didn't really intend to put all of them at risk if they didn't need too.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

"No time." Kale managed to get out right before the door came splintering into the room and in burst four very big and very well armed men.  Course their weapons of choice appeared to be more along the lines of heavy clubs and chains.  Kale's crew easily had far more firearms between them.  But they certainly didn't all look as big and mean.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

"Well, what do we got here?  The rats got some friends." the largest of the men commented, he was holding a very nasty looking spiked club in one fist and a pistol in the other, "Don't matter, we'll still be givin' ya you're payment." he said, "And we intend to pay in full."

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

Connor's eyes narrowed as the door splintered inwards.
"What the hell have I told you about waiting?!" He was surprised to find himself so angry. His two bags were concealed and he would definitely be getting them before running out. He pointed his pistol right at the leader's face, though he stood out of reach of the nasty looking club...no point in taking chances. "I thought I told you the last time I didn't want payment for this one...either way, you are leaving...NOW!" Connor pulled back on the six-shooter's hammer and waited to see what the leader's response was.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

The man just grinned at Connor, he was missing a few teeth making his grin look even more eerie. Kale smirked however, just a stupid bunch of thugs.  "I think you should listen to the man, or things could be goin' real bad fer ya." Kale said, getting ready to take them on.  His gun raised now and aiming carefully at the man, he was getting ready to take a step forward.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

Rhaef had both his pistols leveled at the door when the men burst in.  So much for skipping out on the fight. He was ready to fight as well when the man grinned.  He recognized that grin, he recognized that man ... in fact he recognized most of them.  His blood turned cold.  These weren't just some thugs.  These men were in association with The Hand.  Whether they were after him or not they most likely would recognize him now and go back and give away his location.  This also meant that these men were well trained and highly dangerous.

"Kale! Look out!" he shouted, moving to cover the Captain as he noticed one of the men behind the lead man aiming his gun.

Wei-Li tried to find as much cover as she could, which wasn't much in the small apartment.  She watched, trying to size up their opponants.

This was not going to be good, she knew that much.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

Kale was about to deliver some damage of his own when he heard Rhaef's voice shout at his side.  He turned just as a shot rung out.  His turning had put him directly in the line of fire and the shot connected solidly with his right shoulder.  Ta Ma De!" Kale gritted his teeth and spun around firing off a shot of his own.

"Ya shot the Cap'n!" Geoff called out, "Now ain't smart but I know that was not a good idea." he said and opened fire himself.  This was his area of expertise, causing damage, and he intended to cause plenty of that.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

Wei-li dropped to the ground, making herself as small as possible.  She began firing at the people in the doorway.  They'd already hit the Captain which meant they weren't going to talk.

And if that was the case, she was going to make her point heard another way.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

"Damn it!" Connor pulled the trigger, and then dived to floor behind a large, padded sofa. He hoped the bullet went through the man's face. Connor cocked the hammer on his gun and fired over the sofa. His bags were almost automatically over his shoulder and he looked around to see where the others had gotten to...

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

Rhaef didn't really have any time to think before Kale was getting shot.  His heart sunk then and his mind became perfectly clear.  This was his fault.  And as long as he was around it would always be.  These men, they were associated with The Hand ... it looked like his past would never stop haunting him and as long as it did those he cared about were going to continue to get hurt.

"I am the beast." he said in a low murmur under his breath.  His eyes flashed as he turned his cool clarity on the men now shooting at him and the others.  He took cover behind one of the overstuffed chairs, pulling Kale down with him and began firing.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

Kale's wild shot hit nothing but the wall.  Geoff, Connor, Wei-Li and Rhaef's however were far better aimed.  The men they were shooting at however were not inexperienced.  The leader managed to avoid Connor's shot to the head, although it did hit his shoulder instead as he tried to dive out of the way.  The dive landed him behind a hall table where Wei-Li's shot kept him staying out of sight.  Geoff's fire had managed to make one of the men take cover outside of the room.  Rhaef was the most deadly.  His first shot had landed one of the men in a crumpled pile on the floor and sent the other ducking for cover on the otherside of the couch where he and Kale were now crouched.

One man down the other three men were not backing off.

Rhaef leaned back against the chair after hitting his first target and knowing that the next was just on the otherside of the chair that divided them.  He cast a quick glance to his right at Kale, "Are you alright?" he said.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

Kale gritted his teeth, "Well, I just got shot - so I'm gonna say I've been better.  Don' worry 'bout me though." he managed to get out.  He'd been shot worse before.  He knew perfectly well that this was a deadly wound, they just needed to get out of here now.  While everyone else was shooting Kale's eyes had been scanning the area.

"That window there." he said pointing, outside of it he could see the fire escape, if they could get out that way they could make a run for it.

"Right." Rhaef said, and then he looked over at Geoff, trying to catch his eye.  Once he had he quickly motioned to him to take out his guy on the opposite side of the chair why he covered the guy behind the door.  They wouldn't be expecting the reveresal of attacks he hoped.

Geoff nodded and put a hand on Wei-Li's calf to let her know something was about to happen.  He held up one finger, then a second as he tightend his grip and got ready to move.

As the third finger came up he targeted the other man and began firing.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

Connor saw the look between Geoff and Rhaef and hoped he'd read it right. To add to their plan, he was going to try causing a distraction. Making sure the light bags were secure on him, he reloaded his gun and stood up, dodging about and firing towards the three remaining hostiles. Connor fired all six shoots from his gun and dove to the spot where Kale was currently laying, hoping it was good enough cover.
"Ah captain, this has gone to hell in a handbasket..." He pulled out a shot of what looked like morphine and handed it to Kale. "My last one...its for the pain." Connor reloaded his gun again and waited...

Rhaef waited until Geoff had put down his last finger and then dove to the side, firing at the man behind the door and trusting Geoff to take down his man on the other side of the chair.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

Rhaef's plan worked, while he kept the man behind the door at bay Geoff was able to take down the man behind the chair due to the fact that Connor's shots had prevented the man from trying to escape around the other side.

Two men down now.  One still hidden behind the door frame and one injured behind the hall table.

Kale offered Connor a tired smile, "Well it usually does." he said to Connor's comment about everything going to hell.  Then he took the morphine shot and gritting his teeth injected himself.  "Thanks." he said, then pushing himself into a crouching position he pointed to the window.

"Geoff, Wei-Li and I will make a run for the window.  Connor, Rhaef, gives us cover and then move out yourself." he said and then with a quick look to Geoff and Wei-Li he began to make way for the window and the fire escape beyond.

Re: Athens: Connor's Apartment

Connor nodded to Rhaef and stood cautiously, falling into a crouch. He pointed his gun out and waved for Rhaef to make sure that the others were leaving. Then, he pulled out what looked to be like a remote control. Connor sighed. he would miss this place, but there was no way he could let the equipment inside here, not to mention the information, fall into the wrong hands. Connor fired a few shots and waited for Rhaef to give him some sort of signal.
