Re: Santo: Prisma Casino

"Oh, Kale...you are so to the point.  That's what we love about working with you."  Allie took a step back, leaning against Geoff as she spoke, her body exuding softness and the smell of perfume as she did so.  She looked up at him, her smile almost shining at the edges as she did so.  For Geoff, it was almost like seeing double...there wasn't a distinguishing characteristic between the two.  If they didn't have business to attend to, this would have been the dream that most men had.  "I hope you're just as macho as your captain, hun...that's just what we like."

Allie looked back at Kale, reaching back to part a lock of red hair from her face.  "We need big, strong men for this job...not exactly a niche that my sister or I fill.  Sister, Kale wants you to lay it out for him."  Allie spoke to Callie with a smile, turning while keeping contact with Geoff.

Re: Santo: Prisma Casino

Geoff had been playing the strong, silent type since walking in the casino.  He might have been the first mate now...not for much longer, he thought...but old habits died hard.  And Geoff had been a hired gun for the majority of his life.  Besides, Kale had it under control, for the most part.  It was hard to remain totally "strictly business" when in the company of the Sin Twins.  Geoff couldn't help but wonder how he was able to do it, especially when Allie...or Callie...leaned against him.

The smell and feel of her was almost intoxicating, but Geoff didn't have too hard a time keeping his mind on track.  Especially when he thought of Wei-Li.  He took a small step back, enough to break contact with the woman, but not enough to send her toppling over.  Even Geoff knew that would be inviting all kinds of hell to be visited on them.  He smiled back at her, and said, "I do try, darlin'.  Kale here sets a pretty good example to follow.  And unfortunately for you two, I'm here for business, not pleasure.  So like the cap'n said, let's get down to it."

Re: Santo: Prisma Casino

Callie shook her head with a slight chuckle at the three men trying so desperately to remain focused, people really did take themselves far too seriously.  It's why she and Allie loved Santo so much.  It was like one giant playground.

"Alright, Mr. Galway, let's get all the nasty business details out of the way.  Perhaps then we'll have some time for more ... pleasurable ... pursuits." she winked at Rhaef when she said that and then glided over to a small writing table located by one of the floor to ceiling windows.  Her hips swaying alluringly as she walked.

Retrieving a holo-pad she moved back towards the men.  Hitting a button brought up the image of a man and a series of files popped up beside him, "This is Conroy Castel." she peered up from beneath her long lashes, "You might recognize him.  He's a big fish in the theater world, and that pond ain't so small here on Santo.  The man's rich and powerful, and a perfect target for blackmail ... he wasn't exactly the upstanding citizen in his youth.  Still he refused to be blackmailed and now he's receiving death threats.  Couldn't really go to the authorities unless he wanted all his dirty little secrets dragged across the cortex - so he came to us."

She hit a button and the images vanished as she moved towards one of the chairs and lounged in it, kicking her feet up over the arm which caused her skimpy robe to ride dangerously up.

Kale kept his eyes on the images that the woman was showing him and away from her, but it wasn't easy.  He listened intently and when she was finished nodded his head, "So he's lookin' fer someone ta watch his back.  Body guards."

Callie smiled gleefully up at Kale, "You catch on quick.  That's exactly what he wants." she said, "The threats said that they'd be coming for him tomorrow night.  He's got a big show over at the Palms Theater.  The Gypsies, a very promising up and coming troupe from Paquin, is supposed to be performing with him in a special one-night engagement.  His assailants said they'd make their move then."

Kale shook his, "It ain't addin' up, girls." he said, "You got plenty 'o thugs roaming this here casino.  No need to go sendin' fer me an' my crew to babysit some pretty-boy for the night."

He looked closely from one twin to the other, trying to discern where the catch was.  He knew that they were famous for pulling the wool over men's eyes and he wanted to avoid that if at all possible.

Rhaef tried and for the most part was able to ignore Callie's wink and inuendo. His mind was already focusing back in on the business issues. As he listened to the proposal, he started to question it, and then Kale hit on his same concern - why did the actor need Destiny's help.

His mind was also spinning with other questions. Questions that Kale or Geoff need to ask. He set his hand on Kale's shoulder. "Captain, I think I heard somethin' outside, maybe Geoff and I should check it out again" He turned toward the Twins and added, "I'm sure that the you and Twins won't get into too much trouble while we're gone." He added with a tell-tale old Rhaef smirk.

Re: Santo: Prisma Casino

Allie mingled between the group, still leaning against Geoff as her sister began the proposal.  She made a pouting face when Kale insinuated that there was some sort of motive at play, laughing a bit in response.  "There's always got to be some sort of agenda, doesn't there Kale?  Come on, you've got your own, walking in here with two sets of hired hands.  What, you and your crew going to rob us?  Take advantage of us?  Oh, no!"  She smirked, passing through them and moving next to Kale, wrapping her arms around his waist.

"There's very few people in the galaxy who aren't trying to get a step above the others.  After our last...outing, let's say, we felt that we could approach each other on a mutual level."  She rested her head on Kale's shoulder, looking at the other member of his crew in the room.  "I suppose if you all want to go on, we could try calling Muskie, or maybe one of the Lancer brothers.  There has to be someone in this Verse who has needs for money.  Maybe someone who has a crew to look after, a ship to keep in the air...maybe wants a little on the side for retirement, somewhere on a beach..."

Re: Santo: Prisma Casino

Rhaef bit his tongue through Allie's speech as long as he could. He spent a few more minutes reminded himself that he wasn't first mate anymore, but if they were not careful a good job could be slipping through their grasp and that would be a place for a hired gun to speak up.

"Come on Allie." Rhaef said coolly, "The two of you, are nothing if not through and cost-effective," he paused and flashed a touch of his old charm and smile, "and if y'all picked Kale and his crew, its because they're your best choice, and neither of y'all are 'bout to risk yur reputations by not hirin' the best man for the job." He paused, "and from the looks of things, that's my Cap'n."

He stood back, lit a cigarette, and prayed he had not said too much.

Re: Santo: Prisma Casino

Callie smirked, "I see there's a reason you brought Sorandash along." she said, "I'll admit that your crew does hold a certain reputation that makes you a bit more appealing then some of the competition." it was a bit unclear what exactly she found appealing, the three men in the room or the job that they might get done.

She looked at Kale levelly then and her voice took on a slightly more serious tone, "You need this job Kale, and trust me, you want it.  We didn't hire thugs because we want it done right and you are just the right crew for the job.  But my sisters right, we can look elsewhere if you're going to make things too ... difficult."

Re: Santo: Prisma Casino

Kale cast a look in Rhaef's direction and then back to whichever one of the twins was standing in front of him.  Rhaef wouldn't have stepped in unless he thought that they were losing the girls and that the job was worth it.  His first mate ... or hired gun, Kale still wasn't used to thinking of him that way ... was typically good at reading people, a sight better then Kale himself so he nodded his head.

"Alrigh' ladies.  You got yerself a deal.  We'll babysit the actor but I want half up front."

Re: Santo: Prisma Casino

Callie glanced over at Allie before turning back to Kale and the rest of the men.  She smiled up at them, "Is that what it will take to get you to trust us?  Boys can be so fickle, can't they sister?" she said with a musical laugh.

"A third up front ... I think that can be arranged." she said, changing Kale's offer, "It's a lot of money after all, we give you half and you might just run with it." she winked, "Girls can be fickle too."

Re: Santo: Prisma Casino

Rhaef caught Kale's glance and realized he had been close to stepping over a line, and that would need to be discussed very quickly. His instincts were his instincts, and certain things were going to be impossible to deny.

Rhaef bite his tongue so as not say something when Callie mentioned fickleness. He knew that particular girl's fickleness first hand, and well, when Callie Buckley was fickle there was usually a gun or a very sharp knife involved, or in his case both.

Re: Santo: Prisma Casino

Kale nodded slowly.  She'd changed his terms but a third should suffice.  And it was a lot of money for something as simple as sitting around and babysitting some actor.  Besides, he really was in no position to be turning down work.  They were hurting right now and needed the money to keep flying.

"Third up front.  It's a deal." he said.

Allie untangled herself from Geoff and smiled delightedly, "Now that all the boring stuff is out of the way, what do you say we "play" for a while.  I'm sure you're crew can go a few more hours without you."

She slinked across the room towards Kale seductively.

There was no way to deny that the girls were attractive and clothed like they were it was enough to get any mans blood boiling.  Kale had to swallow once before speaking, "I think - I think we're done here.  Just a business meetin' ladies."

The twins exchanged looks before Callie spoke up, "I'll send all the information you need to your ship.  Your contact is a woman by the name of Irene Tippen, tell her your there for the performance and she'll set you up with Castel."

She stepped right up beside her sister so that they were both nearly hanging on Kale, "And boys, do us a favor ... try to stay out of trouble." she winked and then moved back.

Rhaef watched as the dealings and the conversation wrapped, and despite himself could not resist ribbing the Captain just a bit. "You know Captain, I figure Mr. Wolfe can handle the crew, and I could handle the logistics, maybe you should stay here." He paused briefly with a smirk, "Mean, sir, ain't that the Cap'n's job, customer relations."

Truth be told, Rhaef was not entirely jokin', he knew times had been tough when he was gone, and Kale hadn't exactly been known for his having fun before he left. The Twins at the very least could show him the Captain a good time.

Both twins smiled widely at Rhaef's words and Allie, slinked closer to the Captain, "Well, now that's the first sensible thing anyone's said this whole meeting." she rested a hand on Kale's shoulder and peered up at him from beneath her long lashes, "What do you say?  Care to play for a while?  The job isn't until tomorrow night."

Kale's eyes widened significantly and the look he shot Rhaef was a mixture of anger, panic, and surprise.  He opened his mouth and mumbled a few incomprehensible syllables before one of the twins hand on his shoulder pulled him back.  He brushed it off best he could and nearly tripped over a footstool trying to gain some distance between him and the two girls.

"No, that's ,uh, that's quite alrigh'.  I'm perfectly fine, thank ya.  No need fer, customer relations today, thank you .... ya ...." Kale had managed to back his way up to the elevator and shot a look at Geoff and Rhaef that said they had best join him.

Callie laughed lightly at the Captain's response and shook her head, sending her red hair waving about her face, "We're not going to force you, silly boy." she said, then her tone took on one of business, "Return to your ship Captain Galway, the information will be waiting for you.  We look forward to seeing you again." she smiled and waved her fingers at him "Au revoir!"

Re: Santo: Prisma Casino

The three men slipped into the elevator and most likely not a moment too soon.  The twins were notorious for their wiley ways and they had good reason to be glad that they managed to get out with nothing more then a few blushes.

The elevator moved swiftly and silently back down to the lobby of the Prisma Casino and a soft 'ding' chimed before the doors slid open.  There was nothing more to do here, best bet was to head back to the ship and get the details of the job they'd be doing tomorrow night.

Rhaef shrugged as he lit a cigarette, "Sorry ladies," he smirked, "really thought the Captain, might jump at the chance to unwind a bit." He said before entering the elevator and riding down.

As they walked back toward the ship, he looked at Kale, "You do realize you just made things harder on yourself, don't you?" He paused, stubbing out a cigarette, and lighting a fresh one, "The Twins take it a personal challenge to seduce any man who turns them down once, and capital offense to turn their advances twice." He added with a wry, knowing tone.

Kale shook his head, "I'm thinkin' you didn't quite tell me all I was gettin' myself into." he said to Rhaef, but there was a wry smile on his face that said it was in jest.  Still, worry lingered at the corners of his eyes.  Worry that Rhaef might just be spot on and he was not going to make it through this job scotch free.  He had heard of the twins reputation, but nothing could have quite prepared him for how ... wiley they were.  Kale was used to doing business but what those girls called business was something else entirely.

"Just do me a favor." he said, looking at both Rhaef and Geoff, "Make sure those girls don' catch none of us with our pants down." he meant it both figuratively ... and literally.

Rhaef shrugged, "Ain't me you need to worry 'bout Cap'n," Rhaef said with smirk, "It's clear it's you they've targeted."

His voice was calm and serious, "So, you just want to sit with what I said about turning them down twice, especially since some R&R might be the best for you, Kale."
