Re: Destiny- Cargo Bay

Rhaef watches the interaction between Kale and the passenger from his perch at the top of the gangway stretching above the cargo hold.  A snort of amusement passes his lips at the obsurdity of the game the captain is playing, but even he sees the fun in such an exchange.  Leaning back in his chair he slices another piece of apple from the core and slides it into his mouth, and at the same time, moves his left foot ontop of his right before bringing them both back to rest on the railing before him.  Out of the corner of his eye he watches Ren leave before they are brought back into focus at the presense of a large man that has just come into view.  It appears as if Geoff had managed to find his way to the ship.  Rhaef silently makes a note to ask Kale what kind of trouble he was expecting to need the added muscle.  Rhaef shifts his weight in the chair before carving off another slice of fruit and easily popping into his mouth, shaking his head as he chews.

Re: Destiny- Cargo Bay

Kale smiles, "You'll do alright, kid."  He then walks to the small door on the right side of the cargo bay and opens it to reveal a small storage room.  There a ton of crates stacked up in there which he pushes aside and then pulls off a false wall.  "Now about that tour ... This here is where we stow the big guns." he grins at Geoff.  Behind the panel are a few, obviously makeshift shelves loaded with most of the weaponry on board Destiny.  "Thought it'd be a good place to start, 'course, I can see you already got some choice weapons.  A little extra fire power never did hurt no one though..." he pauses, then smiles, "Well, you know what I mean."

Re: Destiny- Cargo Bay

Geff follows the captain into the room and whistles a low appreciative whistle as he pushes aside the crates and reveals the makeshift shelves full of weaponry. "Ai ya....that is an impressive amount of weaponry ya got yerself ther, Cap'n.", he said in a ligh tone as he walks up to the shelves to get a closer look at some of the weapons, "Some really good stuff ya got here. Now, I got my own, as ya pointed out, but I'll definitely be lookin' into gettin' my hands on these when the job calls fer it. Like ya said, a little extra firepower never hurt." He looked over some of the more impressive bits of weaponry, the rifles and such that Geoff couldn't afford normally and that he definitely couldn't carry around with him without drawing attention to himself, and a wide smile came upon his face.

"Heh. Ya know, if ya throw in some liqour and good lookin' women in addition to this pile o' weaponry, I just might consider workin' fer free....", he said wryly and laughed.

Re: Destiny- Cargo Bay

"That a promise?" Kale laughs, and carefully replaces the paneling and stacks the crates back up in front of it.  He backs out of the storage room.  "This here is obviously the cargo bay, air lock controls there," he points to a control panel against one wall.

"There's another storage room like that one through that door, and up them ladders are the engine rooms.  You been upstairs, bunks, bridge, shuttles.  Through those doors are the ladies bunks, passenger quarters, and infirmary." he places his hands on his hips and just takes a moment to look at his ship.  He smiles proudly, and says almost to himself, "Ain't no finer ship in the 'verse." then turning back to Geoff he says, "That about does it.  She ain't no cruiser, but she's the best."

Kyron makes his way back up the ramp, luggage in tow.  The Captain is now standing about with a very intimidatingly large man, Kyron almost skirts around the pair of them.  "I'll just be in my quarters settling in." he says and disappears through the back doors.

Re: Destiny- Cargo Bay

Geoff follows the captain and looks in each direction he indicates, mentally noting his words as he identifies where everything is. He then smiles lightly as the captain asserts that the ship is the best in the universe. Geoff had heard that very same assertion from many other captains in his short career of moving from ship to ship. Whether this ship would actually turn out to be the best or not still remained to be seen to Geoff. "Yeah, Cap'n. This is a mighty fine ship ya got here. I think I'll like it here quite a bit.", he said with an easy smile.

He then turns to the man who had just walked into the ship and seemed a bit nervous around him and the captain. He gives the man a quizzical look and furrows his brows lightly as he passes, studying the man idly. He gives the man a light nod in greeting and then looks back to the Captain.

"Kyron Bates." Kale says as the man dissappears into the passenger quarters, "Bought passage yesterday, a snooty hun dun, but I'm thinkin' he's most likely harmless." his voice is casual, but he knows that he'll be keeping an eye on the man, if only for the sake that he must be runnin' from something and Kale could do with a little less trouble, not more.

Geoff nods lightly as the captain identifies the man and mentally notes it. It would probably be good if he could learn the names of the people he'd be spending a load of time in the black with. He then shrugs lightly to the Captain's offer of food and smiles lightly. "Heh. Such variety on the menu. Like a ten star restaurant.", he said with a light laugh,"But I ain't picky and I am a bit hungry so lead the way. I've learned that it's best ta get a meal when ya can. Never know when it could be yer last in my line o' work, dong ma?"

Kyoko steps out of the shuttle airlock and steps down onto the lower level of the cargo bay. Dealing with the captain more often than not left her frustrated and she was determined not to lose the serene focus she had attained earlier.

The idea of sitting and drawing to maintain focus was not too unappealing. She brushed her hair out of the way as she found a suitably open space in the hold and took a deep clensing breath as she took her first form.

Slowly she moved with supple grace from one form to the next, eyes closed as she took in the sounds of the world outside, her mind calm as she moved along in the Tai Chi routines that she couldn't do normally in her shuttle.

Re: Destiny- Cargo Bay

Rhaef watches the bay clear before popping the core into his mouth and crunching it completely, swallowing it down.  He was never particularly fond of that part, but it was something he had done since he was a boy, something Curio had taught him.  He shifts his weight again, bringing the chair back down to four legs and begins to rise to his feet.  He stops suddenly as he hears the door below him open and close, and hears the soft feminine footsteps walk into the bay.  From his perch he watches as Kyoko takes a breath to center herself, then goes about her tai chi.

For several long seconds, Rhaef finds himself staring at the woman, her tall frame elogantly maneuvering from one form to the next.  Finally, Rhaef sense returned to him, and he quietly exits the bay, silently cursing himself for the moment of voyeurism.

Re: Destiny- Cargo Bay

Kale leads the way out of the dining hall and to the lower level of the cargo bay, walking with purpose, this here was time for business.  "Charlie!" he yells as he reaches the ramp, he knew she was probably up in one of the engine rooms. "You tell Rhaef he's got the ship 'til I'm back if you see him!"  Rhaef would already know that but Charlie was a good person to leave a message with if you wanted someone to get it, "and oh," Kale adds, "Kyoko won." he heads down the ramp and out onto the Eaves Down Docks.

Ren looked over at Kale quizzically but decided to chalk it up to some sort of buisness. Getting his mind back on actually being out of the ship for once he readied himself while following Kale.

Geoff followed after the captain at a casual pace. He cocked his head quizzically as the captain calls to somebody named Charlie about somebody named Rhaef and somebody else named Kyoko. He shook his head lightly, deciding that he'd have to see about meeting all these people before heading out into the black. He then followed the captain off of the ramp and to the docks.

Re: Destiny- Cargo Bay

With the rest of the crew out of the way, Charlie slid down the ladder's rails and onto the catwalk, stretching out from toes to arms over her head, letting out a yawn.  The ship, when void of those out on a mission, usually got pretty peaceful.  She usually takes these times to not work on the ship, and do whatever she felt was necessary.  At this point, of course, it's to change the greasy coverals for the less-greasy ones.  It would be an idea to go find Rhaef and pass on the captain's message, but it was an understanding that he was in charge.  If Rhaef hadn't been alerted to the Captain's leave, then there were bigger things at issue than the chain of command.

With her clean clothes tucked under her arm, she decided that the better idea was to find food first...at least something small to nibble on.  Charlie moved down the catwalk to the lower floor, to get some food out of the dining room...

Sauntering into the cargo bay Ren once again feels safe. The metal walls around him fit him so much better than the open and chaotic outside. Home sweet home, glad to be in, glad to see acacia for even a moment He thinks as he heads to the stairs and up to the dining hall. "Hey cap' i'm headin up to the bridge, gettin us off this rock"

Charlie stepped back onto the metal grating of the walkway, having climbed to the second-story catwalk that led to the higher shuttles, not to mention the engine rooms.  She sat there, watching the doors as she slowly made her way through eating the apple, waiting for the rest of the crew to get back so that she could get back to doing some work...

Charlie smiles as he scritches her head, bumping her temple against her knee as he passes.  She's known Ren the longest out of anyone on board, excluding Kale, and to call their relationship anything short of "brother-sister" would be a lie to everything that had happened in the last two years...

Re: Destiny- Cargo Bay

Geoff steps onto the cargo bay slowly and looking a little less enthused about it then Ren did. He wasn't made for the long stretches of peace and quiet in the black. He was made for bar brawls and loud crowds. He shrugged to himself though, knowing that he would probably have some action soon enough, if the job turned out like he thought. He then smiled to himself and looked about the cargo bay, wondering if there was a spot for him to stash some liqour in the wide open space.

As he looks about the room, he notices the womann that the captain speaks to sitting on the metal catwalk above him. With a friendly grin, he looks up at her and gives her a small wave in greeting. He had yet to meet this member of the crew and didn't want to seem unfriendly on first sight.

Re: Destiny- Cargo Bay

"Of course, Captain.  When has she ever done us wrong?"  Charlie stood up, crossing her arms for a moment.  "I'm taking by your pace this isn't a 'go go go we're in a rush' takeoff?  Those are always a bit more harsh on her than I like...then again, how far out is Valon?"

She waved back at the figure down the stairs, leaning over and crossing her arms on the railing.  "You another passenger?"  She exchanges another look back at the captain, then to Geoff...
