Suspicious Bumps and Dangerous Lumps
Acacia stepped back into the infirmary, letting out a sigh and stretching her arms over her head, looking at Kyoko as she stepped around the table...cracked ribs, hmm? She'd have to make sure, but without the luxury of a full office, she'd have to use the tools available to her. Acacia untied the robe that Kyoko wore, pulling it aside so that she could see the side where she was hit with the pipe, frowning at the large bruises that were forming over the skin. It must've been a good hit; coupled with Kyoko's small frame, it's a wonder that the pipe didn't cause a rib to puncture her lung or something equally damaging.
She pulled on a pair of gloves, the plastic snapping at her wrists, rubbing her hands together as she pulled over the small ultrasound machine that she had brought with her onto the ship. It wasn't as sophisticated as an X-Ray, but she'd be able to see where the fractures were located at and how bad it was. Acacia gentley placed a hand on the center of Kyoko's ribcage, running over the bruised area with the ultrasound machine and watching the screen. She was breathing a bit shallow, but otherwise at a normal pace...it couldn't have been too extensive. She'd seen her share of large rib cracks, and were it extensive, not even blood loss could make you pass out from the pain you would be in.
It appeared only one was broken, and while one or two surrounding might have stress fractures, they seemed mostly intact. There was nothing she could do except give her medication for the pain and tell her to take it easy. Acacia stood back up, gently touching the side of Kyoko's face. "Hun, you need to come to, okay?" She waited a moment for a response, but when none came, she put her hands around Kyoko's head to elevate it. Best make her comfortable if she's going to sleep it off. She set her head on a pillow, and while her mind was on the ibuprofin she was going to administer, all those thoughts popped out of her head when her fingers came back red. The inner monologue shut out as she stepped around the bed, turning Kyoko's head and searching for the source of the blood...a rather good-sized lump, caused by...whatever. Probably a slip and fall, but that was unimportant. She put her head back, opening each of her eyes and shining a light in them...the eyes were dialated, and while it didn't look too extreme, she couldn't sleep...they would have to check if any damage had been done to her brain.
Acacia stepped back around, knowing that she wasn't going to respond to any stimuli; if Ren's transportation hadn't woken her up with the broken rib, then simply speaking wasn't going to do the trick. She stepped back to one of the drawers, pulling out a bottle of ammonium carbonate and shaking it a bit, muttering...this wasn't going to feel good, the inhilation reflex was probably going to hurt like hell with the broken rib. However, it was the only way. Acacia uncapped the bottle, setting one hand on Kyoko's shoulder to keep her from jerking when she woke up...and with her steadfast resolve, she lowered the bottle under Kyoko's nose, letting the fumes drift upward.
