Hello!

I am new here and don't really know what or how to use this site really.  I have never played pnp D&D or any other role playing game but am very, very interested.  I created a character one time very long ago but we wound up not playing and that is really the extent of my expirience other than watching stuff like critical role and dice, camera action on YouTube.  I would really like to play here if there is a group willing to take me on as a project.

Welcome!  Lots of GMs here are willing, and even eager, to help out new players.  Your best bet is to check out the Wanted - Players forum to find a game that sounds interesting to you, and be open about your lack of experience when you request to join.  And don't be afraid to ask more questions as you learn your way around.

Keep in mind that there are a ton of systems around, in addition to various editions of Dungeons and Dragons. There is also a lot of freeform play here with little or no dice rolling and rules mechanics, just writing and cooperative storytelling.
