Alright so I decided that since I have no idea what I'm doing it would be a good idea to introduce myself and go from there. My name is Alice, which is a pseudonym because I'm super paranoid about the internet, I'm 19 years old and though British I live in France so my spelling is touch and go some days. I'm fairly new to roleplaying, though I've been interested for awhile, and have so far only played on Roleplay.me where I still have an account but due to a lack of decent players I'm branching out. I mostly do fantasy stuff as that's what I write and it helps keep my idea's flowing, favourite being urban-fantasy but period fantasy is good to. I'm a huge fan of angel, demon stuff and the likes. I also dabble in the likes of sci-fi, crime, and supernatural (which I'd always associated with fantasy so sorry if I confuse anyone with my definitions of either) as well as in different fandoms. Though I don't do any adult themes or stuff like that. I'm shy but very eager to learn anything that will get me out of my boring everyday life and I hope to find people to roleplay with soon.

Welcome, Alice!  There's a lot to take in here, especially there are a lot of facilities for game masters.

The FAQs are a great place for the beginner to start.  Kick back, do some light reading, and copy the traffic in Community Chat for a while to get the feel of the place.  The Notices at the top of each Forum are also good reading.  There will be important reminders there of policies, updates, etc.

To find games to enter as a player, hit Wanted - Players.  GMs who are accepting players can post game adverts here.  There is also a game search engine that is actually rather sophisticated in its filtering abilities.
