Game Calendar

Year: 1437 TH
Month: Gahmil

--------
The Throalic calendar has twelve 30-day months.
Strassa, Veltom, and Charassa are officially the Winter months, although in Barsaive, this generally brings rain more than snow.  Except in Ustrecht, of course, where these are the worst of the Bloody Freezing Season.

Rua, Mawag, Gahmil offer Springtime; in Ustrecht, Gahmil begins to mark the turn from Bloody Freezing to merely Winter.  For the rest of Barsaive, the weather is (barring regional conditions like poisonous ash, of course) generally pleasant... but when it isn't nice, it's usually a violent thunderstorm.

Between Gahmil and Raquas is the five day Earth Celebrations, marked in different ways, but generally marked throughout Barsaive.  Even in much of Ustrecht, although some Trollmoots don't recognize it.

Raquas, Sollus, and Riag are the Summer months, and Sollus and Riag, particularly, can indeed grow uncomfortably hot.  In the high reaches of Ustrecht, these balmy summer days are still often mistaken by lowlanders as "Winter", even though the blizzards rarely last for more than three days straight and the snow levels often drop to a paltry foot-and-a-half deep.

Teayu, Borrum, and Doddul are Autumn, and perhaps the most generally pleasant; the rain starts to pick up again, but tend to be gentler, warmer falls.  Ustrecht, again, holds the happy distinction of being The Exception, as the snows begin to deepen, and Winter returns to Bloody Freezing around mid-Borrum.
