Well, shoot... and here I'd been oblivious to Tal's coin pouch all this time. I wonder how much it costs to sleep in the barn?

Out of curiosity, what does a room cost in Bartertown anyway? I know what it would cost in my setting, but this isn't mine, alas (I sold it to Disney, who's decided to come out with yearly movies for the rest of time :)

Well, the standard prices are (for a private room), 1/5/12 sp for a cheap/merchant/guild inn.

It'd also be 0.3cp for a cheap meal, 1sp for an average one.

Bartertown has to trade for food, but there's a population drop lately, so assume they even out.

Black can afford to live her for about five days, assuming that he eats nothing but gruel and lives in a crappy room. Longer if he just slumps in a corner of a flop-house.

Oh, sure, I could have bothered looking in the book for the answer to my painfully obvious question.

<.<

(Shame no one bothered asking in Sperethiel. We elves are known for our riches, doncha know. Not as rich as the dwarves, who are better known for digging too greedily and too deeply, and awakening things from earlier ages, mind, but rich enough. Then again, we're also known for eating tofu, so...)

Thank you all for the 20 year Anniversary well wishes.
It's been a long ride; communication and patience are the key bywords of our successful marriage, more so for my wife than me.  :P

Garlen:
It's early morning, before the sun rises, that the Dwarves break down their camp and have the current on-watchers for the group wake the rest to get moving.  Upanga says a quiet but resolute temporary goodbye to T'slonan...

Has Upanga left the game?

Reading up on the posts I missed so I can post myself.

Garlen, msg# 311:
...Upanga says a quiet but resolute temporary goodbye to T'slonan - no troajin could possibly carry his weight, but he refuses to slow everyone down, or to have anyone stay with him.  "I've spent more years walking alone than most of you have been alive," he points out, and then, with a chuckle, clarifies, "And that is most of you combined."

Re: Night King Summary

I'm afraid so.  His player was new to Earthdawn, and he said he just wasn't really getting ahold of things the way he needed to.  It's a shame, because Upanga was definitely one of the better Obsidimen concepts I've seen.

Welcome back!!

Re: Night King Summary

On another note, now that I've checked the IC thread - the Ghosts are a bit leery of Stormy, who they're generally able to recognize as a Rider.  It's pretty clear that their overall impression of the Riders, however over simplified it might be, is to mostly lump them in as Scorchers.  But he is able to make some tentative connections with some of the more open-minded members, especially as he's one of the few members of the group really able to carry a conversation while riding like that. grin

Certainly, between Stormy's efforts, Talia's connection, and Korentin actually leaving an impression as `professional' if not, like, nice... it's fair to say that the group as a whole have some low-level `contact' with the Ghosts.  I added them in under "Allies" in the opening post on Loose Threads.

Seriously, though. I love Obsidiman characters and I really liked Upanga. Really sorry it wasn't a good fit for him. I think he would have been a great player and character.

Great, that works!

Haha, good point.  Sometimes I am a bit less patient in RPOL games, probably because it's so slow paced and I'm a bit of an Alpha type in many ways.
I'm also committed to my wife, kids and making it work - not as dedicated to RPOL.   >:)

And I'll reply after Taia to include a response to Stormy-- unless Korentin wants to take that one, since he's technically closer to him in the parade order, I think? ^_^

Korentin Black:

Are you sure?  According to my records, between Tar'Deno and then selling some things (mainly the moth wings, as I remember it) in Kratas, you guys are actually pretty flush.

I mean... as I think about it, a lot of that happened before the majority of our current players joined.  But according to my notes, you have:

575 Gold Coins
Fire Coin
Really Soft Pillow
Silver Statuette of Astendar with Sapphire Eyes
Charred Book
1000 silver

...of which I think Korentin was actually carrying, um, the Charred Book.

So that explains why you're having a hard time finding enough money for a bowl of broth.  I think Varessa had the statue and pillow.  The Fire Coin... come to think of it, that was with... um... started with an M.  That T'skrang Thief who joined for a little while.  And he would have kept that, so I should probably take it off the list.  But the gold and silver Black, IC, should know about, and was definitely part of earning, unless he thinks he didn't help enough in Tar'Deno.  I mean, I know he was just hurling himself at giant boulder-flinging Horror Constructs for his own fun, but I thought he contributed.  A bit.

We all know Calypte saved the day, of course.  But Black did help.

I think you guys could actually put down a solid down payment on actually outright buying The Melodious Hymn if you wanted.  It's not the game I had planned, but I'm flexible.  We can just throw out my whole plot and play Tapper, I guess.

Mazdor!  That was the T'skrang Thief.

Anyway, the point is, I do think you can cover food and rooms, at the least.

Stormy:
Haha, Roger - I was hoping to learn if the player sent a PM explaining why, see if I said something offensive or whatnot.

Oh!  No, it was nothing like that at all.
