Re: The Soup Kitchen

Thunderbird's well aimed laser takes out the copters rotor. It slews violently sideways, sending the gunner tumbling from the platform below, and then plunges to the ground to detonate in a huge fireball some hundred feet away to the north.

Thunderbird, you can dive-bomb and return to combat in round 11, or use ranged weapons in round 10.

Boss Hog takes a nasty blow from Flora's maul, but then responds with his chainsaw, chopping the plant lady down to size.

21HP damage Flora which puts you on -4. Time for recovery rolls please.

Roach Coach goes the way of all flesh and expires, his flame going out forever.

Bedlam takes down one plizog, but the other three have him at bay. The giant takes another bite on the leg.

3HP Damage Bedlam.

Meanwhile, one boss is duking it out with Tom, who gets in another good blow with his sledgehammer while dodging the axe once again.

Boss Hog looks around at the pitiful remains of his army, and screams in rage as the copter falls to earth.

Round 9. Init Order Party, Porkers. Combat map not updated yet, will do it tomorrow, but only the plizogs and Bedlam have moved. Apologies again for the delay.

With a war cry that shakes the sky, Thunderbird announces his victory the world. Doing a wing over, he then plunges towards the ground  getting ready to help deal with the foes on the ground, in the process putting the laser back in its holster.

Bedlam pauses in his violent dance with the plizogs. ~Hang in there, Flora. I'll be there as soon as I can.~
Readying himself for the final push the giant tries to maneuver away from the encircling plizogs before taking a swipe at one of them.

OOC: Round 9
Minor Action: 2nd wind.
Move Action: Slide away from one (or two) of the plizogs
Major Action:
Bedlam Jones rolled 14 using 1d20+10. Attack a plizog.

Bedlam backs onto the corpse of the plizog he killed and the other three follow him, snapping at the giant's heels. Honours are even with neither side drawing blood.

Meanwhile in the alley below Tom's stony arm is opened from shoulder to elbow by a very nasy blow from the porker boss.

17HP damage to Tom.

Flora starts to gently decompose.

One death save failed, two to go.

Boss hog, unaware of Thunderbird swooping down on him, gobs on Flora then waddles back to the drill, then fishes a gas mask out of the glove compartment!

Re: The Soup Kitchen

Thunderbird drops out of the sky like a bolt of lightning, casting his spear deep into Boss Hog's meaty shoulder. A brave move, but possibly ill-advised, as Boss Hog looks up and fires a cloud of roiling napalm at the unlucky hawkoid from his huge flamethrower. His feathers burning away, Thunderbird crashes to the ground and lies gently smouldering.

OK Thunderbird,24 HP damage, you are now on the Death Save treadmill.

The battle on the rooftop continues. Beldam wounds one of the plizogs hounding him, but two of the animals manage to draw blood in retaliation:

14HP Damage Bedlam.

Tom battles with the boss porker in the back alley, but neither combatant lands a blow.

Round 11. Init Order Party, Porkers. Combat map to be updated in a day or two with Bedlam and the plizog's new positions.

In the back alley, Tom lays low the porker boss, but one of the footsoldiers steps up and deals the stone man another wound.

On the roof, Bedlam takes out another plizog, but is flanked by the remaining two and bitten twice.

12HP damage Bedlam, you are now on 2HP.

Flora is decomposing fast, while Thunderbird is still smoking!

Failed one Death Save each, Flora has one to go and Thunderbird has two.

Boss Hog yells at the plizog handler while heading off inside through the hole in the wall. "Grab as gas mask and pull those chumps out the the kitchen, I'm going in to burn it all down!". The plizog handler hurries to obey.

The grin fades from Bedlam's face as he realizes the plizogs are taking him apart faster than he can kill them...

Shifting so they don't have him flanked, he swats the closest, leaving it crumpled up against the sandbag wall. Then he turns to face the impending attack from the remaining beast.

Bedlam lands another crushing blow, but this plizog is at full health and isn't taken down. The two plizogs leap at Bedlam again, and one manages to get its teeth around Bedlam's throat. Everything goes dark for the giant...

Thrilling conclusion tomorrow folks!

Re: The Soup Kitchen

You remember a bright light... and then you regain consciousness in the warehouse next to the soup kitchen with Crusty Tom and Gasket hovering anxiously nearby. The front half of the warehouse has collapsed and the air is thick with foul-smelling smoke, for reasons that soon become apparent when Tom fills you on in recent events.

It seems that Socket, once he saw that Boss Hog had penetrated the Soup Kitchen's inner defences and was preparing to torch the building, buggered off through the escape tunnel after setting the self destruct sequence. Thirty seconds later the barrels of explosive buried under the cellar went off while Boss Hog was merrily dousing the kitchen in petrol. The whole place went up like a box of firecrackers, incinerating all the porkers sleeping inside as well as the hapless plizog-handler who was sent in to get them. The blast collapsed the front of the warehouse, sent Bedlam and Crinkles tumbling to the ground in a pile of rubble and blasted Thunderbird across the plaza. Tom, who managed to heroically take down two more porkers and the remaining plizogs, recovered the bodies and was preparing to bury them when Gasket turned up. He was hiding out in the escape tunnel panic room and emerged from a secret trapdoor nearby, with a backpack full of advanced medical tech. Roach Coach was too far gone to revive, and Flora had totally decomposed, but the rest of you were brought back from the brink.

"Funny thing is there's a funny-looking pod growing like crazy where Flora died. Perhaps she seeded herself" Tom finishes.

Lying on the ground, Thunderbird looks up at the sky and then tries using one of his wings to shield his eyes, only to find out that he is grounded for a while until a new set of feather grown on him. "Now I know how barbequed chicken feels only I was not slow roasted" he snickers. When he feels stable enough to stand, Thunderbird heads off to locate his laser, other equipment and an aloe bush.

Re: The Soup Kitchen

Ophelia had followed the smoke and was now looking down on chaos and devastation. One thing you had to give porkers credit for when they threw a party they really threw a party.

Below her she watched a few survivors moving about, she noticed a bird man stand and stagger off looking for something in the rubble and a large man talking to a smaller person.

Her yellow cat eyes were studying them accessing if they were approachable. Then again anyone who took on a porker pack and survived were definitely people to know.

She dropped off the building with all the grace of a cat, which was not too far off the mark. And crossed the broken ground towards the collapsed warehouse building and the survivors.

She moved with an unhurried grace and agility her long mane of red brown hair blowing out gently in the breeze. She had leather on covering her athletic looking body hugging it in all the right places but allowing her ease of movement. Across her back was a sword and strapped to her left side a holster with what looked to be a hand crossbow. Slung across her shoulder and hanging down her right side was a leather hold all that though full seemed to be light enough so as to not hinder her movements.

As she drew near she stopped "hey you in the warehouse I wish to enter .... I mean you no harm and I might be able to help you" she shouted in a clear voice and then waited for a reply

Bedlam rolls cautiously onto his side, wincing as his newly bandaged wounds indicate their opposition to such actions. He reaches behind to move a small chunk of rumble before lying back again and staring up at what remains of the ceiling.

"Unnnh. Thanks, Tom, Socket."

When Tom tells him about Flora, Bedlam turns his head to look in the direction of the seed pod. The front of the building is a gaping hole, but the pile of fallen bricks and concrete block his view. He does, however, see the approaching felinoid.

"Looks like someone saw our signal fire..."
