Crinkles runs to intercept the Ripper before it can escape into the river.  When he gets close he unleashes a wave of psychic energy, and suddenly the Ripper is pulled back the other way.

Run to R15
Sideways Gravity triggers immediately, no save - Ripper slides to M16

Bedlam panics briefly when Ophelia slips back into the water. ~Come on, Ophelia, we need you up here.~

Then, metal armor scraping loudly, the giant scrambles to his feet and follows Crinkles after the Ripper.

OOC:
Standard Action: Stand up.
Move Action: to R12

Re: The Sprawl Delve #4

Rose's heavy crossbow bolt thuds into the Ripper's chest and leave a dent. Almost all of it's organic parts are gone now, and it movement has become noticeably jerky.

Just before it dives into the river, Crinkles slides the Ripper back towards the road. Thwarted, it sprints down the street and into an alley, although the rubble slow it down somewhat.

Ophelia tries to climb out of the rive again, but cannot gain purchase on the slimy wall. She manages to resist getting swept further downstream.

Round 3. Init Order: Ripper, everyone else.

NB rubble(*) costs one more more movement point to enter and exit

Crinkles pursues the Ripper the best he can, running wide so that his view won't be blocked by the large building in front of him.  As soon as he can he sends out another wave of gravitational energy, but he can't focus too well since he was moving so quickly.

Run to M20
Crinkles rolled 12 using 1d20+2.  Gravitational Pulse.
-I assume 12 vs Fort won't do it

~Rose, it is fleeing away from the river. Stay on the (west) side of the building to cut off that route. Arcus, Thunderbird, get in the air and keep an eye on it. Try to get ahead of it.~

Bedlam charges down the alley and across the fresh rubble in pursuit.
OOC:
Move action: Run (6+2) squares to K16
Standard action: Run (6+1) over two rubble squares (-2) to F13
This Grants Combat Advantage to the Ripper, but also gives Bedlam an Attack of Opportunity (at -5) if the Ripper chooses to make a full move away.

The giant's mind reaches out along his psychic connection with the Ripper.
~There is nowhere to hide. I will find you.~

She is somewhat confused by the layout of this sewer system but she has heard Bedlam and so finds a spot to cover any open area leading to the drain/river and sets her mallet close to hand if it comes to that kinda fight.

Re: The Sprawl Delve #4

The Ripper is close to escaping! But Bedlam's mental jab hits home. Why not finish this now?

Make an Interaction roll Bedlam DC25. If you make it the Ripper is enraged and will stay and fight...

Meanwhile, Ophelia loses her battle against the current and is swept helplessly downstream. Will a heartfelt cry Arcus throws himself off the building, landing softly due to his gravity control and sprints down the river bank behind her.

"Come, ah say, come back darlin'!"

Ophelia and Arcus haven't posted in months. If they want to rejoin the game they can turn up in Compton later, bedraggled with some stories to tell...

Thunderbird's laser clips the Ripper one more time, leaving it in bad shape, but the Ripper is fast and knows the streets and will soon be able to go to ground safely.

Bedlam, make your roll for My Thoughts are Your Thoughts. If you succeed, everyone else will get one ranged attack to try and take the Ripper down. Otherwise it escapes.

Also apologies for the long delay.

Re: The Sprawl Delve #4

As the Ripper flees down the alley Bedlam focuses his thoughts on the creature's cybernetic nervous system. With a surge of psychic energy the giant takes control, painfully forcing the creature to stop its flight and return to face the crew.

~You cannot hide. You cannot flee.~ Bedlam's thoughts glower into the Ripper's mind.

OOC:
My Thoughts Are Your Thoughts is an automatic hit. (range 10)
Ripper takes 3 damage (psychic) and slides equal to its speed back toward Bedlam. Essentially, Bedlam negates the Ripper's move.

Crinkles breathes slowly and focuses, making a last ditch effort to pull the Ripper back with his manipulation of gravity.  He tries to aim the waves so they pull pieces off of the Ripper while also pulling it back into the battlefield.

Crinkles rolled 18 using 1d20+7.  Gravitational Pulse vs Fort
-fairly confident that 18 hits, so...
Crinkles rolled 19 using 1d10+10.  Damage.  And also the Ripper is slowed until the end of my next turn.

As Bedlam draws the Ripper closer, he feels his psychic grip on the creature begin to slip. Before completely losing control the giant lowers his psychic defenses, allowing his mind to fully meld with the twisted psyche of the creature. His body follows suit and the lamppost maul slams into struggling remnants of the Ripper's chimeric body.

OOC:
10:19, Today: Bedlam Jones rolled 30 using 1d20+12.  Hvy Melee attack vs Ripper.
10:20, Today: Bedlam Jones rolled 26 using 2d8+10.  Hvy Melee Damage.

Bedlam takes an unsure step, reaching for the support of the closest wall.

Bedlam's lamppost smashes the Reaper to the ground. Your nemesis lies there, sparks playing over its body, and you all feel it's utter hatred radiating in waves... then your hear a beeping sound from the Reaper's torso, rising swiftly in pitch and volume.

Make an Athletics/Acrobatics roll DC20 DC20 if you want to run for it!
