Re: Back from the Past

Thanks all.  I'm back, and while my BP is down to somewhere close to normal again, I'm still fighting near constant headaches.  If I make even less sense than normal, pleas point it out to me and I'll try to correct or clarify.

In the longer term, I'm going to be looking for replacement DM's for two of the four games that I'm running here on RoA.  I'm going to be put three of them on the DM's Wanted list, and this is one of them.  Whichever two get interested DM's I'll turn over to them.  In the meantime, I'm going to keep DMing all of them and hope for the best.  I'm not going to drop things suddenly and leave people in the lurch.

Now, let's see if I can get a post done...

Re: Back from the Past

*hugs Jim lots*

I think I'll retire Laerwen once you leave.  And earlier if it would make things easier on you.  I've got a lot of PCs already, so I really don't mind.  I can always pull her back in later if there's a need for her.  But I really shouldn't play my old standbys anymore, I need to continue to branch out and learn new classes and everything.  So anyway, one less PC would mean an easier time for your replacement or they could advertise for someone who's currently homeless.

Re: Back from the Past

*looks around for Annihilator and hugs Windwalker back*

If you don't mind, let's wait and see if this is one of the ones that I can spin off, or one of the ones that I keep.  It'll be more up to the interests of our potential DMs.  I want to make as sure as possible that whichever games I have to step out of will be taken care of.

I left games and players in the lurch with my meltdown last year.  I don't want that to happen again.

Re: Back from the Past

Don't worry, hon.  Anni's not worried about you honing in or anything.  :p  (I think.  :p)

I'm more than willing to wait and see what happens.  But I certainly don't mind to pull out now or later if it's best for you and the game.

*chuckles* I was raised in Alabama, where hugging another man's girlfriend can get you hurt or worse.  Some habits die hard. :-)

Hope you feel better soon.

Luckily Borin is a non-bubble PC that entered this region. But I kinda like it down here... :)

Re: Back from the Past

Sorry folks.  I know it's been a while. On the plus side, with my new glasses, I don't have a headache today, for the first time in what seems like forever.

I'm still fighting with the SQL errors, but I have a bit more patience and seem to be able to work through them.

I think I'm back on a regular basis, but I've spent this evening getting caught back up.  I'll be back tomorrow with a post.

Jim, I'm so glad things are improving for you.  Makes me wonder if I should try glasses, too.  I know they wouldn't get rid of my stress, though.

Re: Back from the Past

I used to hear that all the time, but after Joshua broke yet another pair, I quit getting new ones.  I only need them for long distances, as of my last eye exam.  But I know that because I haven't worn them enough the past 10+ years I will have to have them fulltime sooner or later.  The doc said that I'm straining my good eye way too much by not wearing glasses or contacts, but I don't wear either.

So what you're saying is that you won't have any more excuses to keep from looking cute in glasses?  :p  *giggles*

Re: Back from the Past

Mine are bifocals.  I know they wouldn't alleviate all of your stress Windwalker, but if you need them, it might help at least some.

Oh, and I'd have to agree with Annihilator, you'd look cute in glasses...

Re: Back from the Past

You two are so silly.  And flattering.  And I like it!  :p  *giggles*

After spending the weekend away from the computer and reading, I'd have to say I could tell a difference on my eyes.  So if I ever get any money saved up, I'll check into getting glasses again.  Hopefully Joshua's old enough now that he won't break them right away.  :p

I thought I did something, too.  Must have been all those errors RPoL was having.  I'll get right on it...

If nothing else, you might look into a pair of the cheap reading glasses just for reading and computer work.

Re: Back from the Past

I'm nearsighted though, and only because of one eye (a car accident I was in when I was a teenager - and no, I wasn't driving - messed up my vision in my left eye only.  All the eye doctors I've ever been to say I should wear contacts.  They say my left eye sees so poorly, almost bad enough to be legally blind in that eye, but my other sees so good that wearing glasses isn't good for me since you sometimes end up looking out of the wrong lense if you just move your eyes but not your head for peripheral vision or if you look out of the side or over the top of your glasses, which I do a lot.  That suggestion is a good one, but I don't think it would help me any.

Sorry.  Things have been very hectic around here.  Combine that with not feeling well for various reasons and I've not been able to post very much.  I just did, though.

Does anyone know of a good rogue that's regionless and looking for a home?

I'm not having any luck with the post in the available space for PCs thead.
