Peaking around the corner, Yasheira noticed the hobgoblin advancing on her quickly.  Trying to stay hidden, she moved to fire, sending an arrow at her foe.

Caught by surprise Gurgun reacts too slowly to avoid the sting of the arrow. Deploring his lack of discipline he decides to press on the attack, further closing the distance between the combatants. Out on the bridge he launches a sling bullet at the female outsider, only to see it veer off and miss completely.
Am I cursed? He asks.

"It would really help me if you were..." Yasheira replied, even as she lined up another shot at the hobgoblin - but this time, he was able to dodge the arrow.  Realizing that the monk was getting a bit too close for comfort, the Genasi moved quickly away...

Gurgun executes an elaborate attack with his quarterstaff, managing to hit only air. He grunts with dissatisfaction at his inability to land blows efficiently.

Dodging both the strikes from Gurgun's staff, Yasheira grinned, before plunging forward, poking the goblin with her blade.  Drawing blood, she then fell into a backward roll, using her training as well as natural agility to roll away from the goblin.

Glad to see that her strategy was holding up, Yasheira evaded another strike, before again stabbing Gurgun with her blade, then tumbling backwards, drawing a dagger in her other hand as she moved.

"Ow...  that hurt..." Yasheira mumbled, shaking her head as she came out of her daze.  Realizing that she was now unarmed, she quickly drew the curved dagger from her belt, slashing quickly out at Gurgun with it, easily bypassing his defenses to draw blood again.  Then, she took another quick step away.

Seeing her blood pour down her face after the hard strike, Yasheira made a desperate strike - and due to her fury, Gurgun couldn't defend himself as she slashed his throat, causing a severe injury.

OOC: Just! I should have healed up a little after the last hit... Good match although the dice were horribly stacked against me in the first few rounds! I guess you were pretty much on the line as well.

I was down to just two hit points left, hehe - and I rolled a 7 of 8 for damage on that critical, too!  :p  Well, better lucky than dead, hehe!  :D

::Grumbles:: And I was down by 2...

Yasheira wins the duel, and takes home 225 XPs for defeating her foe.
