Alec stopped, surprised, as he rounded the corner and found the door closing in his face. How rude! She'd gotten there moments before, and Alec found himself in a bit of a quandary: open the door and be noticed and possibly attacked, or run around to the other side and give her more time to prepare and defend and probably close the other door. Oh well, there was nothing for it.

Following the muffled sounds of spellcasting, the door opened, slowly, and behind was standing the minstrel Alec Schmeezle. He stared curiously at the cloud of mist, and took a few careful steps into the room.

Round 3: Mordaenwen heard the door but the mists blocked her sight beyond 5ft so she only knew Alec had entered the building at the same side she had. A smile crept on her lips, while neither of them could know where the other was, she was going to call somebody who could...

Touching the necklace she called the arachnid that was trapped within. A moment later a large monstrous scorpio appeared next to her and immediately sensed the bard's position as its feet felt where he was hiding and quickly went to work...

Yikes! Both Alecs jumped back in fright from the gigantic scorpion that just appeared before them.

He was only a bard, he couldn't even sing to the mindless thing.

Round 3: "Awww no..." the tiefling exclaimed, pouting sarcastically when she heard the bard's hasty footsteps disappearing and the scorpio follow its prey. "What about that promised dance?" she said with an evil smirk and ran in the opposite direction, all five of her. She moved swiftly, but pondered the implication of an invisible enemy a little longer.

"Maybe later!" Alec kept running, rounding the corner, skidding to a halt as she saw Mordaenwen doing the same. Many Mordaenwens. And Mr Stingy was at his back, but he couldn't throw this opportunity away. Aww, fiddlesticks.

He stopped, appeared, conjured, and a cloud of golden dust exploded around the Mordaenwens.

Round 5: "Eeek!" the tiefling cried out as the glittering dust settled down upon her. However, she had closed her eyes just in time and avoided the blinding effect of the magic. - Looking down she reminded herself at some strange stage performer...

Meanwhile the scorpio was all too happy to find a visible target, his pincer shot forth and cut the half-drow slightly, trying to get a good hold on his prey.

Having taken a good look Mordaenwen grinned. "No harm done, sweetie. Now this will hurt you more than me..." she said ominously and cast a spell she could not have. Missiles of force streaked forth to hit the poor performer squarely in the chest.

OOC: I only have 1 hp left, time to stop embarrassing myself. :) Well, Alec is only a non-combat bard, probably not the best choice for this.

Mordaenwen dismissed the scorpion with a single word, nodding her consent. She had grown up hated by near everyone, she had to fight with whatever means she could find on the streets and the thieves guild, perhaps that toughness was what had brought her victory today.

"Agreed, a song would be nice. Perhaps you can rhyme a few words about my beauty?" she replied, only somewhat sarcastically.

ooc: Yeah, Mordaenwen's concept is based on a woman who solely relies on her own skills, I bet Alec will rock together with the group in the North :)

As the scorpion dropped him, Alec hit the ground with a thud. Quickly recovering, he drew his lute and began to strum a simple tune, singing out the words. So, the lines needed work, and he wasn't sure about the rhymes, but he had just been in a battle, suffered major injures and was a bit rushed for time.
