Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun

OOC: Shouldn't you be Gurgun? :p

Suddenly she was enclosed in the hobgoblin's powerful arms. "Ack, leggo, you big bully!" She struggled to free herself, thrashing from side to side with little effect.

Round 10:
  [Move] Escape Grapple: GC 13
waiting on result...

OOC: I spent a standard action trying to escape. Move actions are pretty useless in a grapple.

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun

"You can't teach me nuthin!" the unseen Ayesha wailed defiantly. Time to stop screwing around... no, it was never time to stop screwing around. She lunged forwards, fading into view, and hooking her leg back to kick right up at the hobgoblin's boy bits.

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun

But you are visible since at least a round back due to taking damage? Also, I don't think you can use stunning fist with a grapple check; the description of the feat specifically calls for an attack roll (vs AC rather than an OGC).

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun

OOC: By the terms of the invisibility, I only become visible if I make a direct attack (as I did). Being attacked doesn't do anything.

Okay, and 'damage your opponent' doesn't count as an attack. Alright, thanks. I've changed it to a regular attack (which sucks a hefty -4 penalty), which missed. :(

EDIT: Ah, as I've been reminded, you're flatfooted against the attack.

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun

As always, one learn something new... I always thought taking damage ended the invisibility for some obscure reason. And yes, I am flatfooted against your strikes.

Do you hit then?

Edit: checked the diceroller, so no, right? (FF:16)

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun

Gurgun manages to twist his hip slightly causing Ayesha to hit her knee against his hip bone instead. It was like trying to strike a solid rock. Not letting up, Gurgun continues to squeeze out the life of the unorthodox woman. She proved to be well versed in the art and he doesn't quite manage to get a good hold. Ayesha is fighting with heart and mind; this is good he admits grudgingly.

Round 11:

  Damage Dealt:  17
Effects: grappling

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun

OOC: I've been picturing that you've got Ayesha from behind, since she was hurrying away when you grabbed her.

She struggled helplessly, still trying to go fight back and only beginning to fall limp. This really wasn't working out how she'd planned. With one half-free hand, she reached for her bottle and maneuvered it to her lips, hoping to at least numb the pain and shame of it.

  OGCs 18 and 19, take 6 damage

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun

OOC: Yesterday afternoon, it was hot, I was tired and my computer was whining, hence my miserable post. It was as that point I realised how fruitless it all was. :| I had meant to try a Stunning Fist, but I forgot to declare it, which is why there was a useless attack instead.

You've got two ELs on me, one of them an extra Monk level, so Ayesha's largely outclassed here and the end seems inevitable. And I frittered away my starting advantage by screwing around trying to defeat you with things I found in the kitchen.

Eh. Don't take pity on us, continue crushing the life out of Ayesha like a bug. I'll try something on my next turn.

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun

OOC: Hobgoblins make for good monks, and the extra level hurts because level 6 is an important one (bonus feat). I'll go ahead then.

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun

Suddenly the hobgoblin was enclosing her in his thick arms and there was no where or way she could move. One thing was left to try now: "Help! Help!" she wailed. As soon as the hobgoblin flinched, she sprang into action, trying to wrench herself free and escape from this cage of limbs. Worth a shot, she figured.

Gurgun immediately releases his hold as the woman grows limp in his powerful arms Why does this always happen to Gurgun...? The hobgoblin muses before Ayesha is teleported away for healing.

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun

OOC: Are you interested in a rematch once you're done with your current battle? Two provisos:
1) Neither of us use Grapple - we both have Improved Grapple, so it's an equal impediment, and
2) I don't screw around trying to make beer-battered hobgoblin. ;)
