Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun in Close Quarters, Take 2

Trying once more to get on top of the pillar, Gurgun is faced once more with defeat and instead lets go and drops to the ground, hugging the pillar just enough to slow his fall. Not quite sure where Ayesha darted off to, he decides to wait where he is.

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun in Close Quarters, Take 2

She scrunched herself up tight, pressed her back to the pillar, the staff standing straight before her, knowing full well that the hobgoblin stood on the other side. She tried to hold her panicked breath, wished she could steal a swig of her wine.

She looked to the side, then sidled around the pillar. Carefully now... There! She lashed out with the top end of the staff, left to the head, then twisted it to bring the right down low to the shins. Then waved it around a lot just in case.

OOC: You said ready fire when you see me, hence the AoO for using a ranged weapon in melee. Can you abort a ready action? I'm not sure, and don't have the time right now to research it.

  Damage Taken:   0
  Damage Dealt:   8

Effects:
  Dodge: +1 dodge AC

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun in Close Quarters, Take 2

OOC: Gurgun misses his readied attack, and your flurry all miss as well... this can be a very long fight! Also, we both have cover from each others attacks right now (+4 AC).

Gurgun tries striking, then unbalancing Ayesha, but with the pillar in the way his attempts were easily dodged. Snorting with frustration, the hobgoblin tumbles away from the central pillar.

Hey, where'd he go? Ayesha peeked around the pillar, seeing him scooting away. Ha! But did she have him on the run, or was he going to be tricky about this too? Two could play at that game.

She turned and hurried off in a different direction.

Or, he could chase after her. She hopped over his feet, but remained upright. "What? Are you trying to play footsey?" she asked. Tripping over his foot, or at least appearing to do, she fell to the right, one flailing left arm twisting and catching him across the jaw. "Sorry!" she cried, but she wasn't.

A back-fist to the face didn't slow him down much. Ayesha let her stumbled carry her on to the right, before gaining her stance and scooting around back into the pillars.

She shook her hand, exaggerating the effect. "You've got a hard head!" she complained,

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun in Close Quarters, Take 2

OOC: Gurgun, you have no location. I'm assuming K10, based on you chasing her.

Suddenly her jelly legs were swept out from under her. Ayesha found herself flat on her back, her wind knocked back into her. Normally she did her best work in this position, but now really wasn't the time. "There's easier ways to get me on my back, mister!" she spat defiantly, and rolled away from his feet.

Finding her legs, she rose, backing away, too unsteady to be a proper target, and took some cover around the pillar.

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun in Close Quarters, Take 2

OOC: K10 is correct.

AoO (standing up): 16, miss

Ayesha once more proved a most clever adversary and easily blocked Gurgun's sweep with the staff as she got back up on her feet. The hobgoblin noted her defensive stance and went for multiple, weaker attacks, using his quarterstaff. A quick jab slipped under her block and caught Ayesha in the armpit.

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun in Close Quarters, Take 2

She slapped away the first staff strike; she wished she'd retrieved her own staff, which now lay beneath Gurgun's feet. The second staff strike, she wasn't so quick to stop. "Ow!" Ayesha whined, exaggerating the injury. Still, that stung!

With arms busy and sore, she raised her right leg, and waved it around like a darting snake. Then she looped it and tried to slam it down hard on Gurgun's shoulder, but he stepped back and missed it.

Re: Ayesha vs Gurgun in Close Quarters, Take 2

Keeping up the barrage of strikes, Gurgun uses his strength and agility to hit Ayesha from near impossible angles. His first being an overhead strike is blocked, Gurgun then spins around while sending the other end of the staff in a wide arc, thus causing the end of the staff to attain blinding speed. Ayesha's block isn't strong enough and there's a crack as the blow partially crushes her ribcage.

She gasped in the intense agony of the blow to her ribs, cursing all she could. Filled with rage and desperation, her snake style hand jabbed at Gurgun's throat - and missed by a mile. It seemed that Old Man Ilmater had decreed that she suffer now.

"Look, it's Bruce Lee!" she cried, pointing wildly somewhere else while she ducked and hurried out of there, disappearing behind the pillars.

OOC: The dice roller hates me, I'm sure. :(

And over she went again. Her back hit the sand, and pain shot up her spine. This was really not a very good day.

Her hand reached out and found her trusty staff, which she used to prop herself back up to her feet as she fended off further blows. "I get knocked down. But I get up again. You're never going to keep me down..." she sang, off-key and with an crazy violent smile.
