Seeing the dinosaur Orophear's eyes go wide for a split second before he throws up his hand and utters a quick incantation causing a ray of purplish energy to streak out wide due to his bad aim. With a curse he begins to sling his bow as he blinks out of site.

Talon easily dodged Orophear's magic ray but had to witness the elf vanishing from sight. Cocking his head almost questioningly, he sniffed the air and soon found the direction where to look for his prey. Talon also noticed the tinkling of metal against metal, which the biped wore and set off to seek him out.

Meanwhile Eregiel finished her spell and followed her companion swiftly, not letting him getting out of eyesight. Noting her companion sniffing at something directly before him, the druid decided to unleash the electricity she had prayed for and a bolt of lightning struck from the ceiling...

Seeing the dinosaur sniffing him out the Duskblade muttered,"_{I knew I would regret including the damned pet.}"

Orophear reached for his sword when he felt the hairs on his head begin to rise, the air around him becoming charged. Just as the lightning hit the elf spun away(Ref Save: 19), the charge still enough to make his fingers go a bit numb.

The Duskblade slowly drew his sword as he muttered an incantation, his free hand reaching out and touching the side of the scaly beast, the magic releasing as his hand touches the dino.

ooc: Neat. Then again I already mentioned you would attempt to push her into lava in our opening discussion, which you objected to. *wags finger* That's very very naughty!

Eregiel watches in rapt horror as Talon disappears and reappears over the lava, dropping into the fiery pit. Her lips became a single tight line as she took a step forth, a precious longbow appearing in her hands. Two arrows were notched and released at Orophear in rapid succession but missed their mark, though not by much.

Luckily Talon was protected by his mistress' spell and didn't suffer any consequences when sinking into the lava. Quickly it climbed out of the sluggish liquid back onto solid ground. (Damage 54pts, absorbed by protection f. fire spell).

Orophear quickly cast a spell into his sword which caused the blade to glow a blood
 red, causing the Duskblade to wince from some sort of pain. The elf stalked forward
 towards the recovering dinosaur and slashed at the creature. The blade sunk into it's
 flesh, releasing the magic stored in the cold metal causing the wound to open
 substantially more than it would seem it should have.

Talon roared in pain when the blade bit into his flesh, he tried to retaliate, but his claws only scratches Orophear's armor. Eregiel fired twice again, with the same result, she missed.

Eregiel realized this seemed to become a stand-off and decided on taking decisive action. A sharp whistle called Talon to her, the dinosaur breaking off but not just carelessly to stand guard before his mistress. The druid now called again upon the powers of nature and winds began to pick up around her and her companion, soon howling around her and picking up debris from the last matches in the arena. The winds blew with the force of a storm and also tugged on Ororphear...

Rolled 40ft for distance. Direktion is directly away from the center (Eregiel), so I'd assume you end up in I or J 24. You take 11pts of non-lethal damage because of the spell.

I think this means you land in a lava square and would take 20d6 damage, but please check again, sometimes my eyes don't want to look straight ;)

Looks like I'M about to get a taste of my own medicine. Go ahead and roll the damage

Well, looks like you are 2 for 2 with our battles. I just can't beat any of your characters. I need to learn how to maximize my characters I guess.

Honest answer: It was luck on both accounts that I won. Luck that Miarisha scored a critical - with max damage, TWICE - against Adamar and thus took him out. He has a healing belt so he could have healed himself.

And it was luck the dice-roller decided to throw Orophear 4 squares backwards (3 on a diagonal line), which put you in lava. One square less and you would have stopped on solid ground. Perhaps if you hadn't decided on 'Stand and deliver' and had tried another invisible attack? I guess if you had hit with your ray of enfeeblement Eregiel would have been forced to cast 'lesser restoration' rather than attack. But that's a lot of ifs and buts.

I wouldn't say Eregiel is 'maximized'. Her spellcasting is her strength - her skills with the bow obviously aren't  :( Her AC isn't impressive and her hitpoints (33 at level 7) aren't either. Her strength is boosting herself and her companion at the same time and spells that few people know of ;)

It was a good one for sure. For some reason Orophear has had a hard time at arena battles. It is what it is. Good fight :)

Perhaps we should team up again, rather than opposing eachother. I'd think Lysande and Orophear would make a great team?
