Adamar vs. Miarisha

    * Points of Interest The arena boundaries are the outer walls, 30' above ground level, and 10' below ground level.
    * There is a transparent wall of force ceiling 30' above ground level.
    * One combatant starts at position A, the other at B.
    * The ground consists of rough marble (hardness 10, hp 10 per cubic foot (or 20 hp per inch over a 5 ft by 5 ft square) with a 6 inch deep layer of sand on top. The sand increases the hardness of the stone by +5, but you can scoop all of the sand out of a 5 ft by 5 ft area with a full round action (which prompts an AOO).
    * The sand is fine-grained and white, and does not impede movement. Walking on it grants a +4 circumstance bonus to Move Silently checks. The sand is too fine and light to be used as a weapon.
    * The walls are made of rough marble, and are 30 ft high. Climbing the side of a wall is DC 20.
    * The pillars are also made of rough marble. They are approximately 5 ft in diameter, and a 5 ft tall section of a pillar is 100 cubic feet. However, you can bring a pillar down by narrowing your focus a bit. The minimum damage you need to deal to bring a pillar down is 25 cubic feet, or 250 damage.
    * Breaking a pillar with sudden force is a STR check (Hardness 10, Hit Points 1000, stone, one piece: DC 30.
    * Climbing the side of a pillar is DC 20. When you can reach the top edge of a pillar, it is DC 10.
    * The top of the pillars are flat-topped and rough, and make good standing platforms.
    * Diagonal movement between the central pillars offers enough space for Large creatures to move unimpeded, and Huge and Gargantuan creates to move while squeezed.

Adamar starts in 'A', Miarisha starts in 'B'.

Enjoy the fight. Hajimé!

Re: Adamar vs. Miarisha

Miarisha appeared in the arena and gave her surroundings a curious look, she almost forgot about the sparring that she had agreed to. So she was relatively slow to draw the gnarled stick adorned with curious symbols from her belt. Activating the divine spark within she felt her muscles relax, making her movements even more graceful. Carefully stowing the stick again, she drew one of her short swords, figuring the bow would do her little good in this arena.

Re: Adamar vs. Miarisha

Adamar saunters into the arena with a large smile on his face. It's hard to tell if the smile is due to confidence or joy. Once the exits are sealed Adamar begins to cast a quick spell, a faint glows enveloping his body for a split second before fading. Then, in the blink of an eye, he has a dagger in each hand. The elf then raises his hand and waves to the crowd watching above.

Re: Adamar vs. Miarisha

When the loud gong sounded to signify the start of the fight Adamar trotted off cautiously near the edge of the arena until he saw his opponent. When he saw the cat woman his smile got even wider as he motioned for her to join him.

Re: Adamar vs. Miarisha

Miarisha saw Adamar move from his spot, angling at the south area of the arena. She frowned a little, having expected he would try to close the distance in order to start melee. This meant she would have to do so. She briefly closed her eyes and activated her lucky stone. Suddenly she burst into action with surprising speed. Gracefully she closed this distance and drew a dagger fluently while she moved. It left her hand and sped towards Adamar, hitting his side and burying itself deeply.

Re: Adamar vs. Miarisha

Adamar issues a grunt as the blade sinks in but that smile never leaves his lips. The elf mutters a quick incantation as he throws out a small puff of sand, the sand blowing across the divide between the two, sparkling and settling on Miarisha.

Re: Adamar vs. Miarisha

ooc: By the way, I think something's wrong with your AC. Mage Armor grants +4 to armor class, however, it doesn't stack with regular armor. Ie. a studded leather armor grants +3 to AC, casting Mage Armor doesn't stack so your AC gets better by "+1" only. Please review your armor class.

When Adamar begins casting a spell, Miarisha knows she had no time to waste. Swift as a cheetah she closed in, tearing out her second sword and stabbing him.

Round 2:

  [Move]
[Free] Draw short sword as part of movement.
[Standard] Charge! Attack 20. Damage 3pts. / Concentration check DC13 or lose the spell.

Status:
  Init: 10
  AC (Touch AC): 20 (15)

  Damage Taken:   0
  Damage Dealt:   10pts

Effects:
 - Cat's Grace', 3mins.

Re: Adamar vs. Miarisha

OOC: You know, I thought that might be a rule. I guess I'm going to have to get my hands on a few methods of protection that are NOT armor ratings and ditch the studded leather to make the Mage Armor spell a bit more effective. Thanks for keeping me straight. Now, I'm assuming I need to wait to find out if you fall asleep to figure out my next move.

Adamar took the hit from the charging cat woman in stride and still managed to complete his spell (Concentration Check: 18), the pinch of sand enveloping Miarisha in a glimmering cloud of sleepiness.

Round 3:
[Full Round Complete] Cast Sleep :Will Save:DC 13

Status:

Re: Adamar vs. Miarisha

Miarisha fought the urge to drop down on the spot and rest... and succeeded. Shaking her head to clear it from the cobwebs of fatigue, she looked into Adamar's eyes and hissed.

Will save 20.

Ok, I'm a little unclear if Mia would have gotten an AoO for your spellcasting but I've got no time to look into that but that's ok :)

Feel free to take one if you get one. I have a feeling I'm going to be in trouble if I can't think of a way to drop your AC.

ooc: It would have been equally quick if your spell had succeeded. But that's what these matches are for: To learn what's good to do and what's bad. Now you can adjust your tactics.
