Zar'Da starts in RED, Catarina in BLUE

Catarina appeared in her corner of the arena and looked around, taking in the maze for the first time. Then she drew one of her three wands from the belt and activated it. The result was only visible in a change of posture, it appeared things were lighter, for her, than before. She stowed the wand again and whispered 'Come to me, Dreadskewer', making her longspear appear in her hands ready to be used. Speaking a few more words and weaving a rune into the air with her spear the weapon began to crackle and small blue arcs of lightning danced over the tip of the blade. Cat smiled and waved to Zar'Da on the other side of the 'ring'.

Zar'Da appeared in the all too familiar arena. The last fight he had had here ended with him in a pile on the floor. The Shaman had no intentions of having that happen again. Zar'Da reached into his belt pouch and pulled out a potion which he drank all of, his muscles feeling a bit of a surge. Once done the drow slides his crossbow from around his back on it sling and notched a bolt. Once ready he reached inside himself and activated one of his many gifts granted him by his benefactor, a dull reddish glow enveloping his entire body. The Dragon Shaman gave a quick nod to the woman at the other end of the arena and waited for the gong to sound.

Catarina saw Zar'Da readying his spear and deceided to take no chances. The duskblade broke into a mad dash, practically flew over the alter in the middle and broke off left to take cover behind a wall. The half-drow would have to come to her if he wanted a fight.

Seeing the woman take off and run behind the wall Zar'Da quickly dropped his crossbow which swung to his back on his sling then summoned his bastard sword to his hand thanks to the crystal embedded in it's hilt. Once his sword is in his hand The Dragoln Shaman moved just south of Catarina's position and activates the magic of the golden anklet worn under his boot, the world around him warping then becoming clear leaving him right behind Catarina. Once the teleport finished the Dragon Shaman swung his sword in a brutal side slash.

ooc: Smart move, but I'm afraid that won't work. The description of the Anklet says "The new space must be within line of sight and line of effect." You do not have a line of sight nor a line of effect through a wall.

OOC: Crap! You're right. Good catch. Ok, I edited my post to include a move action to get into a "Line Of Sight" position.

Catarina didn't see it coming, when Zar'Da appeared next to her his sword crashed through her defenses as if she was nothing more than an infant. Yet, she was trained to fight and not give up, stepping away she put a little distant between herself and the shaman. She stabbed twice but was unable to make contact. Frustrated she called forth a spell and directed the ray at the half-drow. It hit him, barely, and zapped his strength but the force of the spell was weak...
