Re: Adamar vs Tristram in the Athenaem

OOC: Not so sure; you should check Tristram's previous fights. Going defensive helps offsetting the AC penalty for being prone. Post your actions first, then I roll the AoO.

Re: Adamar vs Tristram in the Athenaem

OOC: You realize that you can teleport into standing 10' away, then take a 5' step out of reach and attack/cast spell etc? Saves you 2 AoO's and you get to keep your standard action.

Re: Adamar vs Tristram in the Athenaem

Gasping as the blood flows freely from the wound, Tristram steels himself and swings the chain about for another strike before taking a few steps back. The pain from the wound interefers with his movements and the chain swings lazily past Adamar causing no harm.

  [Free]
  [Move]5' step to E11
  [Standard] Attack 12, miss
Status:
  Initiative: 9
AC (Touch AC): 18 (13), -2 until next round

  Damage Taken: 27
  Damage Dealt: 10

Effects: Bulwark of defence (threatened squares treated as difficult terrain)
Knight's challenge +1 to attack & damage, 4 rounds

Final position: E11

OOC: your position after adjusting the post?

Re: Adamar vs Tristram in the Athenaem

OOC: Minor correction: you need to spend twice as many squares moving through difficult terrain, thus ending up in K14 (6 squares for the tumbling + squares normal movement).

Tristram follows the nimble elf, but is unable to make heads or tails of his chain and he nearly entangles himself with it. Blasted! I'm beginning to make a fool out of myself! the knight calls out, frustrated.

  [Move]Move to J13

Re: Adamar vs Tristram in the Athenaem

Adamar makes the decision to stand firm and go on the offensive. In the blink of an eye the elf has a dagger in his off hand and begins a routine of spinning blades, his daggers weaving around himself in a defensive shield of slashing cruelty. The elf slashed out with both daggers, his right dagger scoring a bloody hit the second glancing off of Tristram's armor.

Round 6:
[Free] Quick Draw: Draw off hand dagger
  [Full Attack] Dagger 1: 25(HIT!) Damage: 4, Dagger 2: 12(MISS)

When fighting with 2 blades, designate a melee opponent during my action
and recieve a +2 shield bonus to AC. Select a new melee opponent as a free

Re: Adamar vs Tristram in the Athenaem

Adamar easily kicked loose the chain wrapped around his ankle(Strength Check: 12) and pressed his attack once again, his daggers working a complicated pattern, weaving in and out of Tristram's defenses, his second dagger just missing a major artery as it hit true.

Re: Adamar vs Tristram in the Athenaem

OOC: Ick, not a good round for the dice bot! And you were right, you have taken 41, I forgot to add in one a few round ago.

Adamar was getting confident the more he saw his opponent bleed. So confident, in fact, he stood and allowed the knight to wrap that accursed chain around his ankle and pull him to the ground (Strength Check: 11 (FAIL)). The elf cursed his attitude as he hopped back to his feet and made a clumsy slash with the dagger in his right hand.

Round 8:
  [Move] Stand from prone

Re: Adamar vs Tristram in the Athenaem

As Adamar prepares to stand, Tristram finally finds an opening in his defences and lets the chain lash out against him, the spikes punching through armor and ripping through flesh. The knight dodges the whirling blades, then retaliates once more. The damage he has taken has weakened him though and the chain clatters harmlessly against the floor. He takes a step back and issues another challenge: There's still some fight left in me; let's finish this!

OOC: Remember that shield bonuses do not apply to touch AC.

AoO 20, damage 10

Round 9:
  [Free]Knight's challenge
  [Move]5' step back to I13
  [Standard] Touch attack 13, miss
Status:

  Damage Taken: 41?
  Damage Dealt: 20

Effects: Bulwark of defence (threatened squares treated as difficult terrain)
Knight's challenge +1 to attack & damage, 7 rounds

Re: Adamar vs Tristram in the Athenaem

"A little it is then." Adamar said as he flicked his wrist and sent the dagger in his right hand flying at Tristram burying itself into the knight's shoulder. As the dagger flew the elf took a step back, gave a quick salute, a smile and took off with unnatural speed to the north of the arena.

Round 9:
[Standard] Throw Dagger: 19, Damage: 7
[Free] 5 foot step to L14

Re: Adamar vs Tristram in the Athenaem

The wound inflicted by the dagger caused even more blood loss, and the knight turns pale, falls to his knees, then slips into unconciousness.

OOC: You win! I managed to hit you twice in 9 rounds, for a 60% hit chance against AC that is some kind of record... You did well though; avoiding most of the AoO's and made good use of your TWF.

Re: Adamar vs Tristram in the Athenaem

Thanks man. I think if the dice bot had been a little kinder to you then it might have been a little different outcome. I have to admit the dice gods did not favor you this match, and I know for sure how frustrating that can be. Good match though:)

In reply to Adamar Venali (msg #43): actually, we aren't quite done yet. You throw the dagger in a threatened area which means I get a last AoO.
I'd like to roll for that if it's ok?
