Re: Tristram vs Lyssander: Close Quarters

Tristram appears in the arena immediately prepares for battle. Flexing his well-toned body he tries a few practice swings with the chain, leaving the greatsword in its scabbard for now.

Re: Tristram vs Lyssander: Close Quarters

The priest materializes in the eastern end of the arena, a small ioun stone lazily circling his head.  He begins by chanting a few prayers from a scroll, and the air around him is suddenly filled with snow, hiding him from view...

Prep Round 1:
  [Free]
[Standard] Cast Obscuring Snow from scroll (3 Min)
  [Move]

Prep Round 2:
[Standard] Cast Bull's Strength from scroll (3 Min)
  [Free] Drop scroll
  [Move] Draw spiked chain

Status:
  Initiative: ++
  AC (Touch AC): 18 (12)

  Damage Taken: 0
  Damage Dealt: 0

Effects:
Bull's Strength: +4 Strength (30 rounds)
Obscuring Snow: concealment (30 rounds)

Obscuring Snow (Frostburn) - 30' radius of swirling snow, centered on caster (moves with caster).  Obscures like Obscuring Mist - i.e. concealment within 5', total concealment further away.  Fiery spells burn away the snow within their area.

Final Position: O8  (by logical necessity since he cannot move during the prep rounds, but Tristram is not able to confirm visually)

Re: Tristram vs Lyssander: Close Quarters

The starting gong rings out, loud and clear.

After a moment, the cloud of snow begins to move toward Tristram at a rapid clip, and soon he is enveloped in its swirling white folds.  Snowflakes whip against him in small sharp crystalline bursts, but they are not capable of injuring him and - experienced adventurer that he is - he quickly tunes out the stinging.

Re: Tristram vs Lyssander: Close Quarters

Tristram observes the approaching snowcloud, assuming Lyssander to be somewhere inside it. Shaking his head slightly he moves in turn, deciding that staying in one place will mean certain death for him. I thought we'd trade blows; not snowballs! he shouts before moving away.

Round 1:
