Yes, but it's not without risk: a climb check to switch pillars, then take an AoO, and if taking damage another climb check to avoid falling. Then a dc15 climb check to get on top followed by the opposed STR check.

But he can't just reach to attack from one pillar to the other, right? This is beginning to become more complicated than I care to play it :/ I'm thinking Kail should have just gone toe to toe and lost normal.

Yes, if Ossian is within reach he certainly can.

Ossian sees the vermin reach out and come closer and tries stabbing at its legs to make it fall, but in vain. The giant pincer comes in fast and rips him open.

No worries, the fight was quite enjoyable. Good tricks used on both sides, and eventually I fell victim to a series of really bad rolls. Had I managed to hit the scorpion it would have taken the sneak attack damage, and had to make another climb check to avoid falling. But on the other hand, you need to let the vermin use its improved grab ability: if it hits with a claw it can immediately start a grapple. Use that! You should really try and fight a spellcaster though, to make use of your main class ability! And I want to fight in the dark, or at least a more natural environment than the arena...

I didn't know if it hit with a claw it immediatly started a grapple. Thanks! Yeah, I REALLY am itching to steal me some spells :)
