Gwendol, being a seasoned veteran of the arena, gets off first. Chanting the final syllables of his prayer, the dwarven warrior-priest calls upon the service of a celestial being, the smallest of the Guardinals, to aid him.
The ferret-like creature immediately rushes across the battlefield, firing off a magic missile before disappearing behind a column.
Gwendol meanwhile moves straight forward while calling on the divine favors of Haela Brightaxe.

Levis began moving out from her position when she felt the sting of a magic missile. She winced, but carried on. This was a learning experience, and she would put her all into this fight. She tried to keep her eye on the ferret as it went behind some pillars, but she lost track of it, and couldn't make out where it went. Having few options left open to her, she decided to take cover behind a pillar, and cast another spell on herself.

After taking another stinging hit from the ferret, she saw her opening. This was her best chance, and she needed to take it. She dashed out from behind the pillar, ignoring the ferret before her, and moved in line of Gwendol. She raised her hand towards him, as shadows enveloped her hand. The shadows solidified into a dart that shot forth from her hand.

Ah! Thar you be! Gwendol exclaims before feeling the shadowy missile punch the air out of him. Recovering quickly the dwarf once more calls upon the favors of his Luckmaiden. A greatsword, sheathed in flames suddenly appear above the Shadowcaster striking at her hard. Still, the dwarf keeps moving forward.

The musteval scurries off behind another pillar while firing another pair of missiles.

Being in immenent danger, Levis squealed and reflexively touched the plane of shadow in a moment of panic, and flickered out of sight. In the same instant, she reappeared on top of a pillar nearby.

Despite Levis's effort to evade the strike from the magical blade, she still was cut deeply. She looked tired and wounded, and didn't seem to have a lot of fight left in her. She decided to put everything into this last mystery. As she concentrated on the plane of shadow, she stared at Gwendol with her soft blue eyes apologetically, before the were covered with inky blackness. In that moment, a cone of shadowy punishment shot forth from her gaze, causing harm to everything in it's wake.

However, in this case the musteval does not have total cover and thus is killed from the spell.

Gwendol tries to shut out the shadow blast, but to no avail. The magnitude of the attack leaves him staggering, but spirit unbroken. The guardinal however does not fare as well, and is transported back to the upper planes.
The spiritual weapon is however undaunted and strikes again, while Gwendol uses the belt around his waste to heal some of the damage before stepping out of view.

Levis tried to evade the persistent blade once more, flickering out, and back in, this time trying to get some distance. She noticed she had caused him to err on the side of caution. Once more, her eyes went black, and she shot forth a powerful burst of shadows, trying to finish this fight once and for all.

The sword misses this time and isn't able to catch the shadowy caster. Her sudden appearance surprises Gwendol, who isn't able to raise his mental defences in time to counter the savage magical attack. Overcome, the dwarf hits the ground, his life force broken.

Sheesh, that was quite the punch you packed! Me not being able to roll above 4 on the saves did matter, but overall I guess this was quite even.

I'm so glad too. I was out of everything after that.
