Levis Luna vs Gwendol Twinbeard in the stone circle: rematch

S: Stone Pillar 5'x5' x 8 feet tall
This is granite, a few cracks, possibly rough enough to find hand holds.
 DC 20 Climb Check.

A: Stone Altar 4' wide x 5' long and 3' tall. (Oriented East West)
This is also a granite feature.  There are chiseled Anchor points at each corner, producing a 'tongue' 3" in diameter and 9" long.

Levis starts in the red corner, Gwendol starts in the green.

Re: Levis Luna vs Gwendol Twinbeard in the stone circle: rematch

Gwendol, being a seasoned veteran of the arena, gets off first. Chanting the final syllables of his prayer, the dwarven warrior-priest calls upon the service of a celestial being, the smallest of the Guardinals, to aid him.
The ferret-like creature immediately rushes across the battlefield, firing off a magic missile before disappearing behind a column.
Gwendol meanwhile moves straight forward while calling on the divine favors of Haela Brightaxe.

Re: Levis Luna vs Gwendol Twinbeard in the stone circle: rematch

Levis squealed in shock when she immediately felt the sting of the magic missile. She would need to deal with this battle quickly, otherwise this ferret would cause her undue grief. She began at a jog to cover distance quickly.

OOC: I was reading in the PHB. I found something related to taking a move action instead of your standard, but the examples given never said anything about actually moving after a move action.

Re: Levis Luna vs Gwendol Twinbeard in the stone circle: rematch

OOC: A double move is allowed.

OOC: Doesn't the ferret still need line of sight to cast magic missile? Where did it cast it from?

Re: Levis Luna vs Gwendol Twinbeard in the stone circle: rematch

It can cast from any point during its movement. While you have cover it does still have line of sight.

Re: Levis Luna vs Gwendol Twinbeard in the stone circle: rematch

Spotting the ferret dash by, she tenses for the inevitable sting from it's spell. She wastes no time in getting to the root of the problem, and dashes out from her cover.
Upon seeing Gwendol behind a pillar, she looses two dark bolts of magic, which both harmlessly veer off to the side.
OOC: Bad times for me.

Re: Levis Luna vs Gwendol Twinbeard in the stone circle: rematch

The magical weapon chases after Levis relentlessly and this time strikes her hard, while the tiny guardinal keeps launching missiles before darting behind cover at a safe distance from the deadly shadowcaster. Gwendol himself grins as Levis appears, using the pillar for cover as he dodges the shadow arrows with surprising agility. Yer too close fer comfort, lass! he says, while withdrawing slightly behind the closest pillar and praying for yet more favors from his godess. This time taking the shape of a battleaxe made from ice that coalesce out of the air.

Re: Levis Luna vs Gwendol Twinbeard in the stone circle: rematch

Levis feels the weariness weigh down on her as her injuries finally catch up with her. She knows when something is beyond attainable. Using the pillar to support herself, she eventually just slumps against it.
"You win. Beginners luck has worn off, it seems."

Re: Levis Luna vs Gwendol Twinbeard in the stone circle: rematch

With a wave of the hand, Gwendol orders the guardinal to stand down. The ferret-like creature scuttles forward, and while the warrior priest supports the shadowcaster the musteval stretches forth a tiny paw and touches Levis. Her wounds are immediately knit together (heal 11).

Yer did well lass, jus' remember this here be our trainin' grounds fer thar real battles lie in thar world beyond.
