The young man materializes in the western alcove, his handsome and magnetic features hardening as he contemplates the fight he is about to undertake. From the rumors whispered to him as he made his way to the portal he knows this will be a nearly impossible fight to win, yet the experience gained from facing such a formidable opponent will be invaluable.

Levis appeared opposite the young man. He was cute, as best she could tell from the distance. She smiled and waved to him as she brought about her protective spells. Firstly, her shadow crawled up her body and solidified into a suit of armor and a shield. Secondly, dark shadowy wisps began to float about her, as if the very essense of darkness surrounded her. Mixed messages and all.

Waving back, Turin is caught off-guard as the bell sounds and isn't able to react before Levis slips out of sight. Time to get some help! he mutters, touching the amber amulet hanging around his neck. In that instant a swirl of what looks like desert sand appears at the other side of the arena, solidifying into a monstrously large scorpion that immediately lashes out with snapping claws and stinging tail! Somewhat disoriented the vermin is confounded by the swirling shadows around Levis and its attacks are ineffective.
Turin, meanwhile, moves into the arena warily.

Levis was startled by the scorpion, and naturally that means she blinked away. With a safe distance between her and the giant scorpion, she closed her eyes, and opened them to reveal black orbs. A second later, a large blast of shadow engulfs the scorpion and hallway.

Turin, laying in wait sees Levis suddenly appear in the far corner and immediately forms the words and gestures of a spell. Pointing towards Levis Turin a fiery ray burst forth, very nearly striking her!
Turin then decides to put some distance between himself and his dangerous opponent.

"Watch it!" She shouted angrily.
If he was going to be flinging monsters and fire at her, she was going to need another layer of shadow. She touched her forehead, and the area around her immediately darkened as the light fled from her. She then continued on her merry way.
