Re: Elias St Clair vs Turin and Lyssander

The dark-robed Sealer materializes in his designated starting position, and quickly takes stock of his surroundings.  Next to him, a shimmer in the air suggests that Turin is about to be teleported into the arena as well.

Re: Elias St Clair vs Turin and Lyssander

Indded, the dusty human soon materializes beside the pale priest. Nodding at his ally they arcanist then goes through the well practiced maneuvers of spellscasting, not the least hindered by his armor. The first casting makes his hand shimmer with arcane energy before leaving it looking somewhat rougher and heavier than before. The second casting conjurs a flaming sphere that sits still about half-way between the combatants.

Re: Elias St Clair vs Turin and Lyssander

Elias crinkled his nose at the surroundings and dusted himself off as he prayed for divine aid. A beautiful golden bison manifest from motes of light in response to his pleas.

Seeing the sphere, Eli raised an eyebrow slightly and prayed, bringing a soft silvery blue glow to himself and his golden haired Bison ally.

Re: Elias St Clair vs Turin and Lyssander

The death-priest chants aloud from the scroll in his hand, and underneath his robes and armor his muscles bulge.  Satisfied, he restores the scroll to its case at his belt, and engages in a whispered conversation with the dusty mage beside him.

Then, he grasps something underneath his elbow-length half-cape, and focuses intently.  Almost instantly, large black feathered wings spring out from the priest's back, lending him an added air of sanctity, albeit of a rather fearsome aspect.  He uncoils his spiked weapon from his waist and prepares for the combat's start.

Prep Round 1:

  [Move] Restore scroll to belt
  [Free] Whisper to Turin

Re: Elias St Clair vs Turin and Lyssander

Turin just nods in return, and points a finger towards Elias causing the burning sphere to roll towards him until it hits the Waukeenar. Now! he says to Lyssander, while preparing for his spell.

Round 1:
[Move] Direct Flaming Sphere to B09, 5 damage unless Ref save DC16
  [Free]
[Standard] Delay until Lyssander takes his standard action

  Initiative: 17
  AC (Touch AC): 18 (12)

  Damage Taken:   0
  Damage Dealt:   0

Effects: Fist of Stone 1 min (+6 STR for attack rolls, etc), Flaming Sphere 3 rounds

Final position: Q10

OOC: I assume you are unharmed by the spell, and since it covers your gear as well you don't really need to roll the save.

Re: Elias St Clair vs Turin and Lyssander

The priest flexes his legs and vaults into the air, his powerful wings bearing him forward to hover above the southwestern statue.  He stretches forth one hand, and points to a spot near the Waukeenar.  Like breath-mist fogging a window, a dark shape softly appears before Elias - but there is nothing soft about the creature whose shape it is, a monstrous chitin-clad scorpion.  It immediately moves to attack.

Round 1:

[Move] Fly to I-11, 20' up
[Standard] Activate amber ring - summon scorpion, 1 minute

(Monstrous Scorpion, Large - http://www.d20srd.org/srd/mons...onstrousScorpion.htm)

Tyche's Touch: bonuses to saves (pre-cast)

[Full-round] Full attack (one claw miss, one claw hit, sting miss)
Claw 2 - 19, hit, dmg 5, OGC 25, constrict dmg 10 (if succeed on OGC)
Elias, please roll opposed grapple check against OGC of 25 or be grappled and take constrict damage

Status:
  Initiative: 17
  AC (Touch AC): 16 (9)

Re: Elias St Clair vs Turin and Lyssander

Seeing the scorpion attack, Turin proceeds with casting the spell, causing the flaming sphere to start smoking. A thick, choking cloud of smoke that completely obscures vision to all inside it. Turin then shifts his position a little.

Round 1 (continued):
[Move] Direct Flaming Sphere to B09, 5 damage unless Ref save DC16, 5' step to P10
  [Free]
[Standard] Cast Pyrotechnics, using the flaming sphere as source and the smoke cloud effect: thick smoke, 20' radius from source which obscures all vision. Fort save DC 16 or take -4 STR and DEX penalty for 1d4+1 rounds after leaving the smoke (roll separately for each creature affected)

  Initiative: 17
  AC (Touch AC): 18 (12)

  Damage Taken:   0
  Damage Dealt:   0

Effects: Fist of Stone 1 min (+6 STR for attack rolls, etc), Flaming Sphere 3 rounds, smoke cloud 4 rounds

Final position: P10

The scorpion quivers in discomfort but manages to suppress the irritating effect of the smoke on its pulmonary system.

OOC:  Scorpion succeeds in save - rolls 16, just barely making it.

09:56, Today: Elias St Clair rolled 11 using 1d20+7. Fort save v cloud.

It'll be a slow death of me doing nothing (no escape artist, +2 str mod), so I'll throw in the towel now.

Had no clue I could use consumables. Up for a rematch?

No restrictions. Hadn't done any homework on you guys so I got caught pretty bad lol.

I wouldn't say no to 3 prep rounds. Standard circle arena?

Re: Elias St Clair vs Turin and Lyssander

OOC:  I'm okay with 3 prep rounds if only one of them is used for any sort of calling or summoning of any creature (by spell or by item).  Turin?

Standard circle arena - you mean the Close Quarters Combat arena below?
