Favorite WtA werewolf tribe? Why?

I've never played a werewolf before, though I greatly enjoy running them. Now I'm considering joining a game with one. Help me figure out what I want to play! I crave your input. :)

Which is your favorite oWoD werewolf tribe? Why? Also, got any good stories about your characters to share?

Shadowlords. Why? Well, they seem least idealized of all the tribes.

As for the stories, I never got to play Werewolf much. I have a narrative (rather long) about one of the characters, but not about playing them.

Hmm... well, that wasn't the rousing discussion I was hoping for.

Think I'll go with Wendigo, just because they seem nifty. :)

For me it has always been the good ol' Gnawers. Most of the rest of the Garou nation is filled with aggressive jerkwads, but the Bone Gnawers are down there, in the filth helping out the little man.
They're the nice guys and the underdogs of werewolf, and I find that hard not to like.

Re: Favorite WtA werewolf tribe? Why?

Discussion about tastes is useless.

the common arguments "X is awesome because" and "Y sucks because" hold little merit.

every tribe has their drawbacks.
generally seen though Get of Genris and Fianna are highly popular with most of my Tabletop players (the group I ST for). Viking and Celtic themes, sigh.

Other tribes are median and largely due to people playing a "stereotype" one. Uktena theurge, Stargazer (god forbid) Ahroun Kailindo master, Shadow Lord backstabber, Etc.

Silver Fangs compared to their IC are completely reversed. Leadership+Madness. OOC silver fang players end up being pitied. They're the targets for people who want to go "against the establishment", targets of people who want to undermine the "leadership" of the Silver Fangs and they have to RP derangements. (Not when I'm ST'ing though)

Most of my characters (when I finally get one of them to ST if even for one session) are usually characters who make a point of breaking Werewolf stereotypes. Somewhere along the years of playing characters just to show people different sides/faces of breeds/tribes/auspices, I lost my preference I guess.

I've somewhere had a spot initially for the Fianna with their rich background, but after seeing that idea done to death by people, I kinda lost interest.

After typing this I must correct myself. Theres 2 tribes I prefer or like. And thats simply because no one else wants to play them seriously. The children of Gaia and the Red Talons. Sure there have been a share a of Red talon Lupus Ahrouns, but people focused then on a stereotypical raging wolfwarrior PC rather than the tribe.
