FYI everyone, Samuel, Michael, and Valin's player has a LOT going on RL and will not be likely to be able to post for a while.

Just wanted to give an update, that I'm still quite busy in RL with dissertation work, although if I can find the time I'll try to post sometime during the week.

Lorena and Daemon were skipped intentionally.  Feel free to post, Joe.  Should RL ever allow them time to post, they can jump in whenever.

Re: Transformer Cats roll out.

I would like to remind everyone that there is a thread called "Pose order" so people can tell who goes next. Also, to help move things along, I'm going to start collecting permissions from the players to allow me to pose in their place if they take longer than a week to pose. All those reading this, please save me the effort of contacting you via IM and tell me "yes" or "no" on whether I have permission to pose on your behalf when others wait for you.

I'll go with yes.  But that's because I know you'll twist my arm to the breaking point to post myself before it ever gets to where you have to post for me.  So I'll have the excuse of having a broken arm for not posting.  :p

As for my regular excuses for delayed posting?  >.>  <.<  Um... Nevermindthat.

Re: Transformer Cats roll out.

Yes, actually, I agree with you, Tim. I really don't think that it's fair for some of us to to hold up the rest of the players here for weeks and sometimes more than a month at a time. People try their hardest to stay in character and get into the mood of the current chapter, and having long waiting times takes them out of that moment and interrupts the flow.  It is simply not fair and, for all intents and purposes, extremely rude when it is done without notice. A game with this much dedication to story and character deserves a better focus from the player(s).

Also, doing this would impose a deadline, which is often something that helps people finish things in a timely fashion. When time is limited, you've no choice but to use it wisely or suffer the consequences. Having this should make the RP move at a much more brisk pace.

With that being said, I have to leave for work now. My intention is to post upon coming home tonight, but if you wish not to wait further, then I understand.

Sorry it took so long to NPC those, Seth. I was unsure what to pose and also had the worry of getting your characters wrong. But hopefully, those are to your satisfaction. :) As for my own army of alts, I'mma write those up at work (maybe). I have a lot to do at work. XD

Samuel's been having one RL problem after another. I'm doing well, as are the others. Though they can speak for themselves, that is the vibe I've gotten from them for the most part. How's things on your end?

Sorry to hear about Sam's situation :( If it's any consolation, I'll keep you in my thoughts, Samuel!

My own life is changing a bit :) I moved out and I'm still adjusting to the new atmosphere and the new people I'm living with. It's very different when I stop and think about all the things I have to remember for myself now... But things are going well.

Re: Transformer Cats roll out.

Due to the silliness of how slow this place is going, I am putting in a common sense rule. This rule is here to help things along. Rule 12 will now be "Pose Order and Things" while the old Rule 12 (Adding and taking from the rules) is now Rule 13.

Rule 12: Pose Order and Things
In order to keep the place from stagnating, I ask that you post at least once a week. I understand RL gets in the way. I understand forgetting (I'm guilty of this and I'm the GM). But unless you specifically say you're going to be gone longer than a week, please take a moment from your time in a given day to check the thread specifically titled "Pose Order" and then see if it is your turn to type stuff. That thread is there to keep people posting. That said, we have enough players that one post from each once per week could mean it could take a month for someone's turn to come up. To help prevent this sort of thing, I ask that the pose order be more a guide. If someone's turn would not have any significant effect on you, do not wait for that person to post before you do.

So for instance, Mika is in the kitchen. The only people interacting with her are Katy, Valin and an NPC named Candy. Meanwhile, far away, Lucky and Maverick are off collecting wood. Meanwhile, far away from both Lucky AND Mika, Emerald and Joe are off gardening (Though are now on their way to see Katy). Mika's turn is up, but Mika can't post that day for some reason. This should not keep anyone else from posting.

As a reminder, please double-check the Pose Order thread to see if you would normally be up. Then, if the person who hasn't gone yet is someone who isn't currently RPing with your character, by all means, post. This has come up due to this place being one of the slowest I RP on in RPOL and it's one of my fave themes. Even I'm losing interest and I'm a rabid Sonic fan. That's a bad sign. XD

Before anyone gets defensive or beats up on themselves, don't. I'm not posting this to attack anyone or make anyone feel bad. I'm posting this to get things moving, exciting and fun again. This is still a learning experience for me as much as it might be for any of you. I'm used to the more live RP where a group shows up on a chat program and we only wait minutes at most between poses. I came to this forum due to conflict of schedules. But with that change came some new experiences and unexpected difficulties to overcome. This is one of them.

I played on another place that has the opposite problem. Too MUCH posting. Remember X-men, Joe? Yeah. I can't even help them out in RP because they post so daggon often it may as well be a chat program (Which I shall post such frustration on their OOC and promptly quit. Didn't want to, already did, they called me back, but honestly I just can't keep up even if I was addicted to and in love with the place). So forums are different and this will continue to be a learning experience. If this one hurdle can be overcome, I doubt we'll have much of anything to worry about beyond things I'd worry about on non-forum RP anyway.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Re: Transformer Cats roll out.

Great post! This makes a lot of sense, honestly, though I'd worry about characters who break away from the party or characters who are operating on the same time schedule in the world, like those in Urser at the moment (though only one party IS being focused on there, it could have gone differently). Would they just consider themselves as all in one big RP when playing something that intense?

Also, is this going to apply to all of the other games you're running, Tim?

Good question. Yes. Though I meant to add that everyone should have a chance to post in a given round, regardless of what order they post in.

Re: Transformer Cats roll out.

  While it could be said that Joe and Emerald are still on the way to the mess hall, thus only Emerald and Joe are affecting each other at the moment...  Joe still can't post until the only person he's with and talking to responds to him ;.;

Though I do appreciate the effort and thought you're putting into this, on top of the whole, you know, running the game thing.  Which is probably why the urge to drop 'the next time I have to wait a month before I can post' has been many next times, including yet another 'next time... after now.. I mean it this time... maybe'.

Re: Transformer Cats roll out.

It's been since late August and Sam/Mike/Valin have been up. I'm going to post their characters for them so RP can move along. Things have been crazy on my end, so I was lazy about doing this and kept hearing he would post soon. Well soon became 2 months plus. If I post the characters wrong, feel free to edit them, Sam.

This makes it Hart/Nautilus' post now.
