Vacations

Since most of us are in multiple games, I though I'd make a thread where people could post if they are out.

Re: Vacations

To all the players and GMs in the games I wander, I apologize.  Work's been a bit of a bear, and I am under it at the moment.  It may be a day or two before I get back to posting regularly.

Re: Vacations

Well it's that time of the year again (actually, one of three times a year, I  guess) when I disappear from these here boards to help run the local gaming convention in Los Angeles.

I'll be absent for much of the long weekend (Friday through Monday).

If anyone is going to be around these parts, pop on by and say howdy. Ask for Chris Carlson (that would be me). ;)

Re: Vacations

To anyone in a game with me.

I'm suddenly looking for work.  I won't be as responsive for a while.

In reply to OggyBenDoggy (msg #8):

Aw, man, that sucks! I've been there (and, come to think of it, still am), so I wish you luck on the job hunt.

Re: Vacations

Maybe this means you'll actually have more free time to play!  ;-)

Seriously though, good luck.

Re: Vacations

Vacation as i know/get it:
You like to get away from work with your family, somewhere a few hundred kilometers away. Your boss say "Sure, you could go. But only after you get projekt A finished,
write a proposal for Projekt B, and look at Porjekt C, it will start after your vacation."

So you work overtime the three weeks befor your vacation.

Your wive gets saucy because she has to do all work (pack cases, buy clothes etc).

You write proposal B the night before your vacations and put in on the desk of your colleague, with a note to send it to the copyshop and dispatch it.

You start traveling to you vacation destination. After 100 kilometers your youngest child throw up over all the back seat.
After 400 Kilometers the two childs on the backseat start scuffling over some trivial thing-for the next 200 kilometer
After 800 Kilometer you are near your destination, but your car navigation system didnt know the small streets around your vacation house.

The next two days are fine, but then your boss calls on your cellular and ask for the Proposal of project B. So you call around the world and try to fond out where the heck your proposal is.

The fourth day your youngest child has so many mosquito bites that you pass a day in the waiting room of the local doctor-he speaks only a few words of your language.

The last day you like to take a lazy day at the beach, and get badly sunburned.

After a week you get ready for home, with the same throwing up and scuffling, but with (sun)burning back.

The next day you get to work and have ten E-mails asking for Projekt C, and your wife get saucy because the huge pile of clothes she has to wash.
And your back peel away.
:-)

So, you see, nothing really missed if you dont know vacations.
(only slightly exaggeration of my Denmark holidays 2011, luckily 2012 was better)
