Got a game?

Here is a place for any and all game advertisements.  Please do not reply to any here for any questions you may have about the game.  Ask any questions in the General discussion area or in the game proper.  Please provide a decent description and a link.

Thanks, and enjoy!

Re: Got a game?

So you decided to answer the call.

Thank God!

The ages-old struggle against evil rages on, but it is far from beaten. The world needs souls as brave and strong as you to fight the supernatural horrors stalking the night.

As a Ripper, you must protect the innocent world from the dark forces that threaten to destroy it. You will not be thanked, and none but us will know the sacrifices you make, but if you fail there is no hope for mankind. So read on… you have much to learn. What can I tell you of the horrors we face? I scarcely know where to begin.

Well, if anyone is interested in a one shot to help learn the rules a little better, head to this location.  I have at least a couple of players already that are new to the system, and need at least four more.  So, whether you are new to the system or an old hand, if you wish to play in a quick (relatively) one-shot game, come over and see if you can save Christmas!

Re: Got a game?

The world of Tarth is filled with dwarven strongholds, dark elven forests, valleys of merry half-folk, and scattered human cities.

But it wasn’t always so.

More than a thousand years ago, a race of savage spider-like creatures infested the land.  Legend says the spiders nearly wiped out the intelligent races.  This time of troubles is called “the Scourge.”  Fortunately, a great human heroine named Tarrian united the elves, dwarves, humans, and half-folk against them.  The alliance banded together and battled the arachnoids in the fields, in the valleys, and deep within their very lairs.  When the alliance was through, they hunted down any stragglers and eventually drove the entire species into total extinction.

After the Scourge, with no common enemy to fight, the races warred with one another.  At least three Great Race Wars have scarred the lands of Tarth.  The last was just over a decade ago.

Valusia, the middle kingdom, where our tale takes place, is currently at peace, however, both with the races and with its neighbors.  This peace has existed for the last dozen years, since the coming of King Crassus Kaden.

Overall, Tarth is a very typical fantasy world.  The settlements in enlightened and organized kingdoms such as Valusia do quite well, while those within the borders of tyrants, or too near savage creatures, must fend off constant dangers.

Your character is a young man or woman looking to become one of these heroes.

Your tale starts in the City of King's Port.

Do you dare take on the unknowns of the Evernight?

That's right.  A Deadlands game using the new Reloaded rules.  This is a One Sheet Adventure currently, just to get in a little more experience with the Deadlands setting (I'm trying to get my local table to give it a try.  So far, they are resisting.)  If the game goes smoothly enough, I might make use of the other One Sheets until they come out with the first Deadlands Plot Point book.

I'm only taking four players at the moment, with an option for two more if things continue.

See ya' there, pardner.

Re: Got a game?

link to "Scatterpoint Nights (SavW)"

I'm going to start up a Runepunk game, it'll start off small in order to get a feel for the setting but if everything goes well...

No prior knowledge of the setting is needed, nor is owning the book. You're more than welcome to make a character from your favorite Savage setting, with one small caveat. They recommend barring characters from NE but I'm not going to go that far, instead if you want to use a NE character that's fine but you can't pick up any new powers after character creation.

In case you don't know anything about the setting:

Runepunk is set in Scatterpoint  which is a massive city that is isolated in space and time. The city used to be the capital of a spacefaring empire, but after the calamity that knocked it out of it's universe everything started to unravel. The city is now ravaged by storms that leave portions of it barely habitable, while the civilized sections of the city are protected by towers that use the storms to provide power. Besides laying waste the storms also occasionally bring in unfortunates from other places and times.

The cities current level of technology is similar to that in Privateer Press' Iron Kingdoms. Sword and sorcery along side steam powered machines, although mystically powered cyborgs are common place.

Re: Got a game?

Am I crazy?  Probably, but I love Savage Worlds!

The boards groan and the ship skims along, her sails taut with the full wind. Ocean spray smashes rhythmically off the bow as she slices through wave after wave. She'’s a lean ship, fast and well-rigged; built for speed.

It’s been a tense four hours since the lookout first spied the French frigate. She sits low in the water, fat with whatever cargo and riches her captain hauls. She’s close enough now that a spyglass isn’t needed to keep her in sight.

The time has come. The crew waits expectantly, looking at the captain as the merchant is brought within cannon range.

“"McKracken, give her a warning shot, let’s see how smart this Frog is!”"

The captain’s booming voice hardly stops ringing before the first shot is away. A crack of thunder and a quick puff of smoke belch from the lead gun. The crew leans on the railing straining to see where the cannon ball lands.

A lonely white plume of water erupts just off the bow of the French vessel; McKracken has once again shot true. An uneasy silence settles across the ship as the captain studies the horizon for the Frenchman’s answer. Minutes painfully tick by as the captain patiently waits for the colors to be struck. Five long minutes and no change.

"“Mr. Paddington, come two points to starboard, close the gap between us. Gunners, take aim...”"

The captain’s face is like chiseled stone as always, but a brief flicker of regret, or maybe weariness, passes quickly. Most of the crew seem to share his thoughts, disappointed that today’s rewards will not come easy, though more than a few lips on the deck turn to twisted cruel smiles. This ship’s bounty will be paid in blood.

Privateer's Bounty! is a game of piracy using the Savage Worlds system.

Currently looking for four players to join in a game of high seas adventure in an alternate history set in the time of the Napoleonic Wars.  Players will be members of a English privateer vessel, and will help to shape the story.

This is a Savage Tale and as such will end at a predetermined time.

Use the following information for creating characters:
- Human character's only (we're not going that alternative)
- Character start halfway through seasoned rank, so 30 XP will help determine your character's skills and feats.
- No Arcane Backgrounds

If you wish to join, please bring a character and a sense of adventure to the following forum.

If you are interested and have never played Savage Worlds before, you can click the following link to pick up the Test Drive rules from Pinnacle games.  With these, you can create a character well enough to join in the fun.

Re: Got a game?

Yeah.  I'm stupid and probably going overboard.  But what the hell!

The world didn’t go to hell overnight. It took a whole two months.

Saturday, July 2, 2005. Sometime around midnight, Eastern time, the recently-dead started coming back to life. We woke up Sunday morning, turned on our radios and TVs, went outside and picked up our newspapers, and learned that rotting corpses were wandering the streets, forcing their way into homes, attacking and eating people.

In the U.S., the president declared a national emergency. Local and state police joined forces with the Army, Marines, and National Guard, and for about a week, we held our own against the rising tide of the dead. But how do you defeat an enemy when your own casualties become his foot soldiers?

Maybe if we had been fighting a living enemy, a foreign invader, things would have gone differently. But facing our own dead, risen from the grave with no thought but to kill and devour us ... We panicked. First came the riots and looting, then the killing. Law enforcement and military units fell apart. People turned on each other like terrified animals, everyone trying to save his or her own skin. And every person killed by his or her neighbor became one of them.

You are the survivors. You found each other in the aftermath and banded together, pooling your skills and resources to increase your odds of staying alive just a little longer. You’ve holed up in the Baxter Building in downtown Manhattan, managed to secure it against the zombies and the roving gangs that have cropped up—even worse than the living dead, the living preying on the living, survivors killing and stealing from other survivors.

But you’ve only delayed the inevitable. The world doesn’t belong to you anymore. It belongs to the dead.

Welcome to Zombie Run, a zombie survival horror adventure for Savage Worlds.

Currently looking for four players to join in a game of zombie survival horror in the near future.

Use the following information for creating characters:
- Human characters
- Character start as novices
- No Arcane Backgrounds

If you wish to join, please bring a character and a sense of adventure to the following forum.

I also went and started up the RunePunk game. Both are linked below.

I am Legend (Savage Worlds)
"The only thing worse than being the only one left, is being one of five people left"

What happens when you wake up one day and the whole world is gone. Everyone is missing, no bodies no signs of death. Just emptiness and the fear of being alone all the while you feel the pit of your stomach drop every time you walk around the city. Eventually you manage to find others like yourself who are trying to survive this new world. Now feeling more secure you set out to find out what happened to the rest of the city. But something is hunting them...something dark lurks in the shadows of the city and it's hungry.

------
I am Legend is loosely based off the book and soon up coming movie by the same name. However the thing that lurks in the shadows is not vampires nor zombies but something sinister and dark.

This really sounds intriguing to me. I'm already signing up and hope others jump in to get this game underway.

Any other takers? Since it's a bit of a horror-based game, should we be sure to cover the stereotypical protagonist roles?

I'm currently pitching my character idea as a 17 year old skateboarder kid. A young man with a bit of a sharp tongue. So I've got the young smartass role filled. ;)

Re: Got a game?

Savage West

Savage West takes the normal old wild west and throws in a twist All your favorite fantasy races exist in this world. The tribal and spiritual Orcs, the Dwarven rail road workers, the exotic elves and even the might herds of minotaurs in the plains.

Saddle up and be all the classic wild west classes you've come to love. Be a tribal Orc shaman, human outlaw,  drake riding lone ranger, minotaur protector, Dwarven sheriff or even an Elven blades master. Your options are unlimited
in this gritty western fantasy setting.

Gather yer six shooter and set out in the wildest version of the wild west you've ever seen partner.

The Old Story goes...

Some damned fool of a dwarf went digging where he shouldn't have been, in Hellcreek Mountain. The greedy little bugger spent weeks looking for untold treasure. Well I hate to be the one to tell you but he found it. Coined the name “The Bloodstone”, biggest damn diamond I ever saw. The feller got his name in the paper and everything.

Everything was going fine up until Augustus Cole came along. News travels fast in the west and I guess this aristocrat probably got wind of something he liked the smell of. Well as it turns out he offered old Duncan (I know a Dwarf named Duncan, stupidest thing I ever heard too) a pile of money as tall as the sky. It doesn't take a gambler to realize he jumped at the opportunity to sell the stone.

Funny thing was I don't think he ever really knew what he was doing. Augustus had been a collector of all things wonderful and dangerous. They say the man was born with one hand in the devils pocket, if ya know what I mean and I think ya do. See Augustus had been looking for this particular stone the longest time any man could really stand. Now he had found what he was wantin' and it came right to him without him having to do a thing.

When Augustus finally got that damned stone working he awoke something dark inside the earth. Something that shouldn't never been woken. Some people say that day the earth opened up and demon's spewed forth. At about this same time the Orc's in the west started gathering strength and moved away from the white men. They also gathered these abominations called Ogre's on their side. Basically a bigger meaner Orc.

After awhile everyone was at each other's throats over not just gold but protection from the monsters that rose from Augustus's evil pact. And Now the world got ugly in a big damn way. We can only hope that someone can put a stop to Augustus and all the evil that bastard's spread through the lands.

Looks interesting, but a bit more about the setting would be nice.  It sounds lke hte Orcs occupy the "natives" area, what about elves?  dwarves?  can you play a tribal elf, or are they "civilized"?

Elves, dwarves, and humans pretty much exist were all the original colonies where formed. Elves tend to be exotic and use mysticism so they are more civilized than the orc's would be. Dwarves tend to be very hard workers and love mining in the west. All the other races are about profit, adventuring and just trying to survive.

does each civilized race have it's own country, or is it more mixed?

It's about as mixed as the old west you've come to love. While orc's are typically the savages they are accepted in some towns. Country follows most of the same pattern as the old wild west but I might get a map together if I get enough cow poke interested.
