Is the "Sembia: The Shattered Harp" game dead?

Re: RoA Community Chat Take 4

DM Starmaster is still here and Sembia looks like it's an a PC chat phase, so I'd say no, of course not. It just looks like the PCs have been quiet for a few days. You only had to ask at your game.

Did that too. One player has answered my question there though the others have been on a very long hiatus.

Re: RoA Community Chat Take 4

Sometimes it just happens. I read a post... and then I wait for someone else to respond... and forget to check back.

If at any time you are waiting more than three days for me to post, send me a PM to wake me up, as I might have fallen asleep.

I also tend to go by the 2-day rule. If someone hasn't responded to you in 2 days, feel free to move the scene along. Don't post that the other character has said something specific, but more along the lines of 'Geophelia listened to So-and-so's reply with rapt attention, grunting acknowledgement as seemed appropriate', etc.

In other words, just keep posting... eventually move things along on your own if you have to.

I'm currently trying to play in a Harry Potter game, but the GM seems to have vanished, so since we're on the Hogwart's Express heading to Hogwart's, we're planning on taking over the train... and see what trouble we can get into. Eventually, we'll get tired of only having one thread to post in, but till we fill it up, we can still have fun.

Anyway, hope that helps.

Re: RoA Community Chat Take 4

After GMs disappearing, the biggest cause of game failure is slowing down. Everyone starts waiting on everyone else, the game slows down, and people get slow and lazy about responding, they forget what's going on, and eventually forget to post and DMs aren't reminded to update.

It's hard on DMs, because they have to wait for at least a few PCs to respond before updating, so no one misses out. PCs don't have that problem, so they should post as often as they can.

The only cure to game slow down is to keep posting regularly. If you're waiting on a game, chances are everyone's waiting on you.

But anyway, you only needed to bump the game you play in, not also ask here and rMail and whatever else you did. It's very premature to wonder if a game is dead after a couple of days, after it's been going a few months.

Re: RoA Community Chat Take 4

I had a new player join the Shattered Harp, put up a few posts and now seems to have vanished. Plus I have 2 NPCs.

Strangers on the Road could use another player. Depends on  what you want to do. There's an NPC Paladin that you could take over if that interests you.

Re: RoA Community Chat Take 4

It's good to see you back, Quickj!

All your characters are still alive. :) Except for Zar'Da, who managed to do an awesome critical hit on the big bad dragon before he got blasted. There is a resurrection available, but the lizardfolk wants to carve out his heart so the party can gain his strength, yes.

Re: RoA Community Chat Take 4

Well, in Killian's defence the only resurrection he's aware of is the upcoming-in-a-level-and-a-bit Reincarnate that Killian himself can cast, which is why he's carving out Zar'da's heart - mostly for us to share the shamans strength, with some left over for turning into resurrection jerky for later. ^_^

Re: RoA Community Chat Take 4

I may be wrong, but I think this site is strictly D&D. And it's set in the Forgotten Realms.

But, that being said, I have no object to a Hex Magus, if you wanted to tweak him a bit to fit a D&D game.

There's room for him in Strangers on the Road.

BWAAAHAHAHA!!! I'm glad Zar'Da went out in style, just as I had hoped he would :)

Not sure I have it in me to take back ALL my old characters right away but I think I would like to take back my fav, Adamar if that is cool??

Re: RoA Community Chat Take 4

My apologies, you are right. My two characters here are both 5ED and in the Forgotten Realms. I acted in haste after spending a lot of time creating a character, then being knocked back. I would be better offering my half orc druid. The game has collapsed for lack of player response. I was not aware 5ED had the magus class.
